i can not believe it is legal to practice age discrimination! i sent my daughter to this store to buy a prom dress. she drove an hour to get out there & once she arrived she was told she could not try on a dress!!! due to her age!!! are you kidding me? i have never heard of such a pathetic policy. i am going to check into it & see if that is even legal. i can see if nobody was able to try them on. however, to have an age limit of 19 to try on a dress!!! i will find out if that is legal in the state of michigan. these are prom dresses. you are usually under 19 when you purchase a prom dress. also, you would think they would post something on their website if they have a ridiculous policy to let people know prior to wasting time! read more

I'm honestly really disappointed with my experience at this prom store. The customer service was terrible. The ladies working there made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome the entire time. Instead of being helpful or friendly, they acted annoyed and uninterested. One employee, Kat, kept looking at me like I had six eyes. It was such a judgmental and rude vibe, and it made what should have been a fun prom dress shopping experience feel awkward and embarrassing. Prom shopping is supposed to be exciting, not stressful. I expected better professionalism, especially at a store that specializes in such an important event. Sadly, I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a positive shopping experience. read more

I literally looked for weeks for a prom dress at other stores all over Michigan and found nothing I liked because I'm super picky and wanted a dress that was fashionable. I went to Hermz and found so many dresses I loved! Not only did I love all the dresses but the employees there were so nice! They helped me pick out dresses and hyped me up while I was in them! The environment in there is so non judgmental... I didn't want to leave! They have such a good selection I was shocked on how many dresses I loved! We were in the store on a very busy Saturday shopping for Prom. The staff had a long waiting list of people to come into the store but we never felt rushed. Each employee took their time with us, gave us all of our options and made this experience enjoyable for all. The staff went above and beyond to try and accommodate every girl in the store and had a great process for getting girls in and out as quickly as they could. I highly recommend them. read more

The two workers (a man and a woman) who seem to be there all the time were extremely helpful and seemed very excited for me. After trying on a dress that was too small, the workers made me feel comfortable and not discouraged by it, and found me the right size. They complimented me and made the experience a great one. I also really liked that I got to pick the dresses I wanted to try on, though they did make helpful recommendations. I have been into the store probably 10 times at this point. I have NEVER felt rushed and I am shocked to see reviews that someone was made to feel bad about their body. That employee must have been fired long ago because at this point, I've probably met everyone who works there and every single person has been so caring and encouraging.

I saw a dress that I really liked, tried it on, and my maid of honor snuck a photo bc it wasn't allowed ( which we found to be very strange )and I am so glad she did!! The photo she took looked like a TOTALLY different dress then the one I picked up 6 months later. The owner measured me and my receipt stated I was 27 1/4 inch's around the waist, which would put me in a size 6 according to the manufacture's size chart. When the dress came in, everyone in the world could tell it was WAY too small. I couldn't bend over, could hardly get the dress zipped up. If I made any wrong move my straps could break. I was so upset at how it looked I wanted to cry. It looked like a totally different dress. All the owner kept saying was that it looked beautiful on me and fit me like a glove BUT I needed to loose a little weight and get some spanks. I showed this picture of me in the dress she ordered me to literally everyone I know and everyone couldn't believe it was the same dress and could tell it was WAY too small. I had myself professionally measured at another boutique after this because it didn't make sense. I was measured 29 1/2 in the waist. Almost 3 inches bigger. (I'm 122 pounds and my weight wasn't fluctuated more then 2 pounds for over 5 years.) This means according to the size chart on the dress company website, I should have had a SIZE 8. Not 4, not 6. She refuses to give me my money back. When I confronted her with the measurement from the other bridal boutique, she stated by email that there was no way she measured me at 27 1/4 yet that is what the receipt says and that is what size dress she ordered. If she would just taken accountability for the mistake and reimburse me so I can purchase another dress, I wouldn't be nearly as upset and stressed right before my wedding. I am in the middle of hiring attorney, and I will get my money back eventually. I expected so much more from a high priced boutique in Birmingham. I am know scrambling to pick up extra shifts as a nurse at the hospital to earn money for a new dress. I never picked up the dress and never want to step foot into that boutique again. How can someone lie right to someone's face and have no guilt what so ever? Absolutely do NOT trust them. LASTLY, telling someone they need to loose weight who is only 122 lbs to start with In order to fit into a $4,000 wedding dress that they already paid for IS ALL KINDS OF WRONG. DO NOT GO HERE!!
