Kristy Hernandez was a breath of fresh air! She was so professional and helped us with a real estate deal gone bad. The short story is we were facing the loss of 50% of the net equity of a home we saved from foreclosure for a family member. Kristy wrote a persuasive demand letter and was able to get us paid through escrow. I'm not a social media type, but I felt compelled to post my first Yelp review for my experience with Hernandez Law Group. We had a messy mortgage and was $225K+ upside down during the financial crisis. My wife went through a reduction of work hours, prompting us to apply for a loan modification in 2009, but was turned down. This led to a series of denials from 2010 through 2014. We attended all-day NACA events at San Francisco and Oakland in 2012 and 2014, respectively, which resulted in additional loan modification denials as well. My CPA repeatedly advised the home wasn't worth keeping and would take many years to break even. Furthermore, was advised to do a short sale or turn in the keys to the bank (deed-in-lieu of foreclosure), but we were too entrenched and refused to give up hope. We could no longer stomach more and things changed when we learned this law firm specialized in loan mods last summer. Considering all the denials we went through, I have to admit I was skeptical at first--but that was quickly put to rest. The staff's highly professional and very supportive. Kristy and Monica were right there navigating me through the complex process and regularly kept us posted. Clichés overrated? Good things come to those who wait? After approximately 60 days, Wells Fargo Bank APPROVED our loan modification, including an unexpected principal reduction--the mortgage is NO LONGER upside down! I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to Kristy and (notably Monica!) her staff for the immeasurable amount of support and guidance they provided throughout the journey. My husband and I had some legal issues but we really didn't know where to go. My husband and I accidentally came across Kristy's law firm. The next day my husband goggled Kristy. He was very impressed and told me that she was who I needed to call. I call the office number the gal that answered was very pleasant. She didn't try to rush through my questions. She got me into see Kristy a few days later. Kristy is one of those people that makes you feel comfortable immediately. Ten minutes into the conversation I felt like I have know her for years. Unfortunately I didn't have all the paperwork that she needed in order for her to decide if she would be able to help us. Kristy told me what I needed, suggested I fax it over and she would take a look at all the additional paperwork. Turns out my printer decided to crash and I called Kristy to let her know I couldn't print it out. She said "Linda you can go over to my office and print out your stuff there. We have a computer sent up for clients to use." Wow I was blown away, how convenient is that. It ended up we didn't make it over there until the next day. We popped in unexpectedly, Kristy was on her lunch hour. I felt really bad because she insisted that my husband and I come in. I'm sure you understand, most of the time a lunch hour is used as catch up time instead of eating time, you know not enough hours in a day. None the less, Kristy took us into her office, checked all of our paperwork and spent over an hour with us. She knows what she's looking for and by all means tries to help in any way. I've had dealings with attorney's before, even work for an attorney before. But Kristy's knowledge and personality, far exceed any attorney I've met. I was very disappointed with their service. They never pick up the phone. They never respond to their e-mails. I had sent sensitive information including credit reports for a credit repair service. It was sent to their Bay Area office. However, they moved to Citrus Heights and they said that they could not find the documents and that we should not worry as it was probably shredded. Even though it was disconcerting to think that my documents may be lost, I figured I might as well continue since I had paid for the service. However, they would not even call back to tell me how to send the information so that it would not get lost again. I feel that if there is not a lot of money involved, they don't care. Had to call many times until finally someone picked up to say that my refund was on its way. They did not even have the courtesy to respond to my e-mail even though throughout this, I had remained very civil. read more
