Glen at United Speed helped me out with machine work on a 2001 Honda Prelude cylinder head- the…read moreharmonic damper came off, timing was lost, bent the valves etc. Glen and his team pressure tested and checked valves- they we are all bent. He recommended sources for replacement parts, decked the head, replaced all the valves and stems and performed a 3-angle valve job. He gave me constant updates and did an outstanding job!! Was better than new and spotless when I picked it up! I reassembled the engine and adjusted the lash, the engine roared to life first try. I pressure tested each cylinder and everything is in the green, like new!! Don't bother trying some other shop and worrying whether they will screw you over. I was referred here by a local shop that builds the type of cars that I was working on. While this shop does more commercial work (The owner was working on a project for Tampa International Airport at the time), they were able to accommodate my needs. They were able to extract the broken bolt and install a helicoil kit to put some threads back in. The work was excellent and the owner was really cool and overall a nice guy. He was jamming out to some Rush when I first showed up and I could tell right away that it would be a good experience. I highly recommend the shop for your machining needs, small or big.

First, they only replaced the O-ring on one injector, even though it would have made sense to replace all of them or at least inform me and recommend it. I was not warned about this in advance, and no advice was given. Second, when I asked directly about the condition of the injectors and O-rings, the answers were vague. I never got a clear response about whether the other O-rings were worn out or not. Third, the oil change was overpriced. They charged $159, which is much higher than what other places charge for the same service (usually around $100). But the biggest issue was the timing. I specifically asked for the car to be ready before Thursday, but they didn't meet this deadline. I dropped off the car on Monday, but they only started working on it on Tuesday and finally returned it on Thursday. Because of this delay, I lost a $500 booking, as I was counting on having the car ready sooner. Overall, while the work was completed, the service was disappointing: lack of transparency, delays, and high prices for additional services. I expected better, and I will likely look for another shop next time.

They replied with an image of their logo, with their name, address, and phone number; just the logo with no actual communication. I emailed them AGAIN. Again, they sent me their logo. I emailed them ANOTHER time and they FINALLY replied with "We don't work on (make and model of my vehicle) ." Rather than wasting a week of my time and me having to write several emails, it would have only been common courtesty for them to take LESS THAN ONE MINUTE to respond to their online contact form, after my initial contact. If this is the way they do business, I recommend not doing business with them.
