Unlike Tpa, when you walk in there are officers there at the building working, not so in NPR. They literally have to call a patrolman in from working the streets to deal with you. Personally it made me feel like I might be depriving someone of needed assistance, but I was also in need. Everone was personable & friendly to deal with. I filled out my necessary reports & returned them & will wait to see what happens. New Port Richey is a small town, so I really can't compare it to Tampa. Overall, I guess the process is the same, so the location doesn't matter, just the outcome. What's a girl to do? I know it's odd, but cops are my friends.

Today, Deputy Cook responded when I called from out of town because our security cameras showed a lady walking around my house taking pictures. Deputy Cook responded very quickly and checked over my property, front and back, to ensure that the property was secure and undamaged. He also made contact with the lady on the video and warned her to stay away from our property. Sadly, we have had too many incidents in this neighborhood and have been staying elsewhere. Each time we have had an incident, the deputies have responded professionally and assured us that they are fair and will keep us safe.

I felt sick as I remember belatedly, that the speed limit was 25mph!!..which had surprised me one day when I noticed how low it was...ANYHOW. This lady police officer, I think her name was Rodriguez...stood on the passenger side of my truck and I gently reached for my registration/insurance above my sun visor and then looked at her and said "I am getting my drivers license out of my left front pocket"..and she thought I said "I was HOT"..which meant I had a gun....instead of getting ALL EXCITED..like some cops on YouTube, she calmly said "if you are carrying its no BIG DEAL, I would just ask you to stand out of the car"..just like that...no PANIC...." Imagine that..? And she took my license calmly as Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry, said politely "give me a moment please" and went into her cruiser...checked me out. Reminded me that the speed fine for 36 mph in a 25mph was $200 some odd Bucks!!! Wished me well,....smiled broadly and pulled the next guy over....she let me go!!! So, what is my point? WE NEED MORE police officers like this!!! Thanks so much for doing a stand up professional job, reminding me of the law, being polite and earning my RESPECT.

We have had several instances of local kids (who have family in the department) come by and break into our cars, our shed and the Sargent state they won't do anything about it because who the kids are related to someone in dispatch. I waited for thirty minutes, and after about 15 minutes, I called the police (after ten minutes) to see if the person was alright or to check on why it was taking the person so long. The police showed up in about ten minutes: the chaplain and a police officer. The man in the restroom had left the restroom, and the police asked him what he was doing, etc. The officers believed the man and then asked the manager about the incident. The manager told them he was supposed to be there with their permission. ONE: the officers never asked the man for any identification and never looked into the restroom. TWO: law-abiding citizens are not what they believe in Plant City. THREE: Burger King might be participating(unbeknownst or knowingly) in DEAD DROP operations at this facility. So, if you are a law-abiding person, DONT GO TO PLANT CITY, I hope I dont see this guy's picture anywhere, and he has committed a terrible crime bc I WILL CONTACT THE OFFENDED person(s) and let them know that the Plant City Police didn't even ID check the individual.
