Who needs Marvel when you got Hero Inspection?? I went with these folks for our new house purchase as they were highly recommended by the online experts (Reddit). I'm very glad I did! They're very knowledgeable with new build construction, which was one item I wanted to focus on when looking for expertise. I watched a few of their videos to see what type of items they focused on, and was impressed as it included things I wouldn't have known about / thought to matter. Scheduling and booking was fairly easy, with an online intake form, and email/phone call communication to get some details and schedule the inspection. We were recommended to come out with them and be proactive in the experience. I cannot emphasize how AWESOME that is in terms of both service and experience. This is my third house inspection and this was the first time this was ever offered. Upon the day of the inspection, we met with David, who had came out a bit earlier and had scoped out some minor issues he caught. I was already impressed, as he was telling us some super fine detailed items that I wouldn't have noticed. At the end, he ended up with a 72 page report for a NEW BUILD. Granted, a lot was filled with photos, and most of the items were cosmetic, but that was extremely helpful in making sure the builder didn't leave after cutting corners and finished the job properly. It would have been hell doing the cosmetic walkthrough ourselves so at the end of the day, totally worth the cost. Thank you David and Hero Inspection Services! David did an amazing job with our home inspection. He was very detailed and took his time going through the entire home. He made a point to bring us over and explain in full details when there were bigger issues. Having this inspection with David was a life saver, we would have purchased a home that had way too many hidden problems. He was also super friendly and truly cared about doing a great job. David put together a lengthy report with screenshots and easy to call out arrows/boxes to identify the problem. It is a little pricey but I think Hero had better rates than other inspectors in the Orlando area when I shopped around for quotes. We did the standard inspection for $495 and the pool inspection for $75. This was a first inspection and Hero made it very quick and easy. I would highly recommend!! read more

I had a very costly experience with the last home inspection I had done in another state, so I took my realtor's recommendation on Hero. One of my big issues with the previous inspection was that they didn't check functionality of all the windows and I ended up having to replace a bunch of them. I mentioned this specifically to Hero and they assured me they would test the windows. Their report indicated they only tested "a representative number of windows and doors" and that one or more were difficult to operate, but indicated that was common with windows that didn't get much use. I guess I'd prefer that every window and door be tested when I pay for a home inspection, but maybe no one does that? They didn't say the ones that had issues weren't operational, just difficult to operate. Now that I've been in the home for a few weeks and had a chance to use several windows, I've found that while they open and close, some don't lock. We also discovered rotting wood near a window due to water damage coming from the roof, which we only detected because we were painting and re-doing the caulk around the windows and took the old caulk out to notice the condition behind the walls. I wouldn't expect Hero to be so invasive as to go into the walls, but in watching the runoff on the roof during a rainstorm, it was obvious there was an issue with where the water was coming off the roof and hitting the home. I could replicate the same issue with a garden hose. The thing that really disappointed me and the reason I cannot give a higher rating is because my roof was original to the home and needed replacing. Everyone knew that before the home inspection was done and my insurance company jacked up my premium until I had the roof replaced and a wind mitigation test performed. Hero knew that would be the case, but when I called them to come perform a wind mitigation test they turned down my business, indicating they only do wind mitigation tests if they are doing a whole home inspection. While I was willing to pay for a separate wind mitigation test, I didn't need to pay them for another whole home inspection, so I was forced to look elsewhere. That took a while, because apparently most people who do wind mit tests only do them during home inspections. So if you know your roof will need replacing after inspection and purchase of your home, make sure you get confirmation that someone is willing to do a wind mitigation test on your new roof without having to pay for another whole home inspection. Other than those issues, I found Hero to be professional, courteous and thorough. read more

We cannot recommend Hero Home Inspections highly enough. We were building a house in Horizon West and found them recommended by the HW Facebook group. We echo those positive reviews and absolutely recommend that if you are building a house, you get an independent inspection. You won't find better than Hero. If the builder is doing their job, you'll get peace of mind. And if they aren't, you'll identify the problems before you close. We decided to get the inspection at both the framing and final stage - very, very glad we did. At the framing inspection we got peace of mind. Things were going well and our inspector told us ours was one of the best houses he'd ever seen. It was a very thorough inspection, he reviewed the building plans along with all the construction and he showed us where the builder was going the extra mile over other builders. He found a couple of things, but nothing our site manager wasn't already aware of. It would have been tempting to stop there and assume the final would be more of the same, but we didn't. Hero came in the morning after the Orange County inspector issued the CO but the verdict was very different. Ours was now the worst house Hero had ever seen that had been issued a CO in terms of the number of problems listed. There were many, some cosmetic but others were major and we'd never have found them ourselves. Everything from unsealed windows to a cracked sewer line. The builder is taking care of everything before we close, but some of the items we might never have found until the 1-year warranty had expired. Hero will bring tools you don't have and get places you can't in the walk-though. They brought a scanner to find hot-spots in the walls (found one in my house) and water leaks. They'll put a scope down the waste lines and they'll walk the roof and crawl the attic. Hero were very responsive to follow-up questions as we worked through the report and I received the report same day as both inspections. read more
