I picked up an advertisement for Hero Moving from Waikele Self Storage and immediately noticed that the pricing advertised was under what I was expecting. We had originally been planning on renting a UHaul from Pam (WSS) but I figured that this might be better since our move was from Waianae to Makiki. I contacted Hero and they called me back. . .I swear like 12 minutes later. I spoke to Jordan and received a rough quote, informing him that our move date was still fluid. A few weeks later we got our confirmation into the apartment and I actually communicated with Jordan through TEXT to sign the quote and make the final arrangements as I had gotten sick and lost my voice. That was VERY useful because it took a few days for my voice to come back. From Waianae to Makiki I was quoted under $1,500 to move furniture from the single bedroom we were in to a one bedroom apartment. Which might seem like a lot for 2 desks, 2 shelves, a bed and boxes but you need to remember that this is Waianae to Makiki. . . Anyway, 3 days before the move disaster struck! Our new landlord decided that they didn't want us there and they were going to keep the apartment empty in order to have an easier time selling the building in the future. With 72 hours notice I was able to contact Jordan and redirect our move from Makiki to our storage unit at Waikele Self Storage. What did Jordan say? "Yes we can!" No additional charges, no argument, no triggering some weird policy to make the process a pain, just a "Yeah, sure." Which was excellent in such a stressful situation. Moving day! Our crew was great. They packed random loose items fast, hauled furniture out quickly and safely, and were respectful in our home. They moved 5 large furniture items down a hall, a flight of stairs and down another hall without hitting a single wall, navigating long furniture items down our tight staircase with no damage. The people they sent, who gave us their names but my ADHD couldn't hold onto them, were approachable, friendly and thorough throughout the process and they were in and out quick. Once we got to WSS they helped us load everything into our unit, called their boss, their boss called me and everything was paid for. This was such an easy process from when I picked up the advertisement in the storage office to when we watched them drive away with our money. 10/10 service, I highly recommend Hero Moving. read more

This is a very late update. I mean very late. I'm finally getting to it. My first experience with HERO Moving was excellent and thought I found my go to movers. I called Gabe a couple years later to get a quote for my client's move from one unit to another at Pohai Nani. Along with that one of the beds was to be moved to a residential location in Kapolei. Gabe arrived late to the appointment but I didn't let that bother me because my first experience with HERO was excellent and I figured he was busy. He said he was late because he just came from a job on the neighbor island. At the appointment he seemed so disengaged it was almost weird. I thought ok he must be tired from being so busy. He said he would call me back with a quote and never did. Never returned any of my calls. I thought that was rude especially since I used his business in the past. If he wasn't able to service my clients he should have communicated that to me. This was a big disappointment because I had to hustle to quickly find another mover for my clients. Good thing I found one and have been using them since. As a realtor I need reliable movers for my clients. I don't know what happened to Hero Moving Company. Went from HERO to ZERO. read more

These were the worst movers I could imagine. They promised me two trucks with my stuff. Fully loaded. The morning of the move they said their second truck broke down so they had to go back to get to the rest of my stuff and charge me three hours additional labor, which wouldn't have been there had the truck not broke down. They packed horribly broke some of my furniture and really didn't seem to care when I asked them to not charge me for the labor. This was the worst moving experience ever and I've moved from 11 states and two countries do not use them. They're nothing but a shack out in the middle of a field and obviously broken down truck trucks. Called them and they said they would call me back. They didn't. I call them again and asked them to remove the extra time to reload my stuff. They said there was nothing they could do. The time was the time. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!!!! read more

I needed a piano moved from a very complicated apartment situation to a house- They showed up on time- came and looked at the stairs and made a plan and got it done. They were finished in two hours and I was very satisfied. The men who came were kind and friendly. They did charge me $6 for tape but whatever when they arrived they had me sign letting me know whatever materials they needed to use I would be charged. Also was able to tip on the credit card so that was nice. They sent me reminder texts and were very communicative. I am grateful my piano was moved safely down stairs! read more

They carefully hauled all our stuff down the two flights of stairs, got the truck loaded, and were ready to head to our new place, where they worked through the challenges of a small parking lot, a tiny elevator, and narrow stairs without complaint. What a life saver, the original moving company we had coordinated with decided to not return my call. We then went online and requested for a mover and thankfully we got a fast response from business owner Gabriel. The price was surprisingly cheaper than other moving companies. I have a 250 lb custom wood headboard for my bed that they wrapped carefully and moved with ease. I was quoted $780 to move a studio apartment. Furniture included a wood king size bed frame a small desk. A small table and a waist high tool chest. The quote included 8 surfboards which I ended up moving myself. There was a path to the house which included concrete stairs. Approx 15 that led down to the house and 6 more stairs up to front door. The movers worked very hard did a great job. I tipped them $25 each. After the move I was contacted by Jordan from the moving company. He told me the cost would be $1250. More than $450 dollars that I was quoted. I was confused about how much it could increase. The job cost me $300/hr. I felt I was mislead misinformed and ripped off. Not happy. I would never have hired them for that price. Movers were excellent tho. Feel totally ripped off. read more

This company is the epitome of over promise and under deliver. If you want your things delivered but don't care when or in what condition you receive them, then this is the company for you. This company: 1) Charged me for packing supplies I never received 2) Damaged my items by carelessly "packing" them in the shipping container without strapping anything down 3) Lost a couple of my items 4) Delivered my things over 3 weeks late 5) Tricked me into paying the last installment before I even received anything and still feels they are not at fault. I dealt mainly with the company's owner Gabe and all he had were excuses. Not once did he reach out to me first to notify me of the many delays we experienced. I had to contact him AND coordinate with the shipping company (Young Brothers) to get my things. I thought I hired a moving company to lessen the stress I would experience with this move but apparently, I paid for the exact opposite. *Side note, save or print a copy of all your documents as you receive them should you still decide to hire them. Once Gabe was aware that I disputed my charges, he removed the copies of my original signed contracts and left only edited versions since he uses an online system. All of the contract and estimate links that were emailed to me show false information in an attempt to make himself look better. read more

Great sales pitch. Cons: Confusing information provided regarding estimate, shipping/arrival schedule, and insurance. Breakage of household items during packing. Damage to NEW wood floors during packing. Poor packing. Damage to $10,000 Tempur-pedic mattress by movers kicking and abusing mattress to fit into a full transport truck. Lack of communication Poor information regarding shipping insurance eventually resulting in no coverage for breakage. Damage of $5000 table upon arrival at new location Breakage of expensive antique furniture upon arrival at receiving location. Home damage to carpets and walls at new location while un packing. Poor communication of unskilled contract workers at new location. Lack of communication to resolve damage issues. In the end costs exceeded price of the most expensive shipper.
