My 21 yo daughter and I have frequented this shop for years because it's a great way to find affordable mid-to-high-end brands. Whether it's Chanel bags, LV wallets, RayBan sunnies, LuLuLemon athletic wear, Lilly Pulitzer casuals, Burberry tops, Ferragamo pumps, or Henri Bendel chains, it's a fun treasure hunt. 3 dressing rooms are available. Many different sizes. Staff has always been pleasant. There are some cheap brands there, too...and you always need to inspect the clothing thoroughly, as I've found a few pieces with stains or issues. Shopping this store saves me money, helps me get brands I might not spend for typically, and also helps save the environment. I wish more people would sell and buy secondhand and stop buying fast fashion. You can get some great pieces that are MUCH higher quality, for around the price of fast fashion, which will wear out in a season or two. Do not drop your clothes off here! They are disorganized and do not itemize your items. You trust them to sell your items for their value and what they do not sell that it is returned to you. This does not happen. read more

Truth Moment: As much as I'm a loud and proud Yelper, I like keeping some things private, and to myself! (Yep, I even check in privately or not at all -- don't judge!) My love for Hertha's is one of those things! So, I begrudgingly write this review as I literally feel like I'm putting my best kept secret on blast. But, I had I add my two cents as the current review rating does not even come close to describing my experiences here. So, here we are... I've been shopping with Hertha's by way of Ms. Sheri for a full year now, and when I tell you she's basically my personal stylist, believe me! She has a hand in dressing me for just about every major event I attended last year, and will continue! Mardi Gras ball gowns? Parties? Benefits? Vintage designer pieces? New designer pieces? I am a plus size woman and I have shopped here and have NEVER encountered anyone being rude at all. Didn't feel like they judged me at all either. Nor did I feel like they were self entitled as someone described. They are and have been friendly and helpful. They also gave me the space to shop and not hover. They know nothing about professional clothing, especially traditional women's suits--the kind executives wear. Also, staff is rude, ignorant, and has a false sense of privilege; i.e., they think they are high class, above-it-all individuals when, in truth, they are uneducated Walmart trailer trash pretending to be Harvard masters! Products reflect "southern" tastes only, which would be completely unacceptable in any major city that caters to real professionals! read more

The selection was nice, but many of the prices are too high. The good thing was some items are discounted. The customer service was ok, but the one clerk was eating lunch at the check out counter which was a turn off. The nicest thing was a roomy, nice looking dressing room. All in all, an ok consignment shop, but I doubt I'd go back. I was really turned off by the owners comments to the other reviewer. While I know the customer is not always right, there are more polite ways to respond rather than the defensive comments in response to the customer. Personally, I feel every comment should start with "thank you for coming in" and "I'm sorry you had a bad experience". The lady took the time to stop in, and write a review, and even if it was not complimentary, it's feedback you need to know. read more

There's rarely a time I'm in Mobile without stopping in Hertha's. This is a gem of high-end retail consignment that's an absolute must if you love premium brands at unbelievable value. Everything is beautifully curated by the fashionista staff who have an eye for the current trends as well as the classics. They will tell me what works best on my body & that honesty is so refreshing in retail. There's never been a time I've left empty handed...from vintage Chanel earnings, Proenza Schouler heels to the basic white tee & Frame jeans....all at a fraction of retail prices. I visited this store today in hopes of finding something for a special event out of town. The first concern I had was the odor of the store. It smelled like body odor. It is a consignment store after all, so I overlooked that. But what is a huge problem was the lack of customer service and desire to be nice and helpful. The sales lady asked my size and waved her hand to the wall for larger sizes in dresses. She was talking to some women who said they knew everyone in Mobile. They all played the name game including the sales clerk. The lack of professionalism and repugnant odor will keep me away. read more
