I been traveling for 10 years covering 16 week contracts in VA, GA, WI, NY and MO. This Hertz location is the worst. I get Presidental service at every other location except this one. They keep limited hours and even though Hertz guaranteed this location would stay open if they had my airline information, I came in on Sunday to find they refused to stay open for 5 extra minutes to provide my rental. Using this location several times, they refuse to provide the Presidental car upgrade even when I had to use UBER to pick up my car the following day. DONT USE THIS LOCATION ... I've been a loyal Hertz customer for years, but after this recent experience, I will never rent from them again. While traveling with my kids, the tire on our rental car popped. I contacted Hertz, and they assured me we'd receive a replacement vehicle at no cost. They arranged for the car to be towed to the nearest location at the St. George Airport and even ordered an Uber for us, clearly stating we wouldn't be charged. While we were already in the Uber they scheduled, they called us back and said we would be charged for the ride -- and even worse, that they had no replacement car available. When we got to the Hertz counter at the airport, the customer service was horrible. The staff was rude, showed no empathy, and made no effort to help us find a solution. We were stranded in the rain with my kids crying -- it was an incredibly stressful situation, and Hertz completely abandoned us. To top it all off, even though the hertz agent over the phone said everything would be covered, I was charged for both the Uber and the tire repair. We ended up having to back track 20 mins to an Enterprise location on our own, and the difference was night and day. The Enterprise team was kind, professional, and got us into a new car immediately. The transaction was smooth and stress-free -- everything Hertz failed to provide. After years of renting from Hertz, this experience was the final straw. They failed us when we needed help the most. My friends and I were stuck in Utah after our car broke down on a road trip. Every rental agency was out of cars but Sam here at Hertz was able to work a miracle for us to get into a rental. Do not rent from them! They don't care about you or their hours of operation. Had reservation at 4pm and no one was there. They are supposed to be open till 5:30pm. 2 other people had reservations! I had rented a car from the other Hertz location in St. George, only to find the attendant left early and I had no car. I called up the airport location, explained the situation, and Sam took care of me. When I showed up, he apologized for the inconvenience, and upgraded me several car classes from what I had reserved, even stepping away from another customer briefly to hand me my keys. I have top status with Hertz and rarely receive this level of service. Because of this experience, I will continue to use the airport location whenever I need to rent in town. read more

Sam, the customer service agent, is incredibly unhelpful, unknowledgeable, and is the type of person that would charge you when you return a wet car in Seattle, citing Exterior Cleaning Fees. They will charge you fraudulent fees and say they can get away with it. Their selection is terrible. Sam handed me the keys without even asking or checking for ID. I travel on a weekly basis and am a President's Circle member, but Sam alone has provided the final nail in the coffin ensuring I never return and never recommend this, or any other Hertz location ever again. Shankar, the Indian guy was wonderful! He was really funny, didn't try to sell me all the crap they always do and even upgraded for free. It looks like another reviewer didn't realize that at small airports like these, sometimes you have to wait 15 to 20 minutes because there's only one person working and guess what, they get breaks too. Someone complained they don't pick you up!? It's at an airport- of course not! Amazing experience and the best price at the SGU airport this weekend. 100% happy! Edit: Also it breaks my heart that people say learn to speak English when someone has an accent. Maybe if you're a racist mofo who has never been exposed to immigration, you don't want to understand them. Immigrants work hard to make a life and better their children's lives- something all of our ancestors have done. The Indian man spoke perfect English but it's easy to say you didn't understand when you're a racist bigot I suppose. Learn to be NICE- or don't expect the same from people working hard. I travel to St George 4 times a year, give or take. I had exclusively used Hertz until about 2 years ago when I had an issue with Shankar, the counter agent. I tried again this past week....that was a mistake. For what it's worth, I'm a Hertz Gold 5 star member -- for years and years. When I picked up the car and went to look at it, there was no working Bluetooth, no Sirius availability, no car upgrade as I usually get, and the car was filthy inside. Long story short - Shankar was unwilling to do anything; rude and surly. As I left the counter to go the parking lot, he followed me out of the building yelling at me. He's a big guy and I'm a small woman, traveling solo. I can handle myself, but who needs that grief? The car was so dirty that I cleaned the windows, the car surfaces inside, and vacuumed the floors and the seats. When I returned the car, they charged me a $75 cleaning fee ... really? You didn't clean the car from the previous renter, and now you're charging me? There are at least four other rental car agencies at SGU ... strongly suggest using one of them. read more

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ST GEORGE AIRPORT IS A NEW LOCATION!!! As always, Hertz is great. We took a shuttle from Vegas that still drops off near the old airport (which doesn't exist anymore), so they will actually pick you up and drive you to their rental counter if you call them. Rental agent Sarah is hilarious if you get her! As a side note, the airport has only been open for about 9 months. It is quite possibly the cleanest, and at the same time, loneliest airport in the world. read more

I had low expectations for this Hertz location based on other reviews, but received nothing but exceptional service when we rented a car from them this past weekend. We had originally rented a car from CA but got into an accident when roadtripping through Utah. This location was the closest Hertz to us, so we came here to exchange our now damaged car for a new one. When I called the location to confirm we would be able to do so, the employee was incredibly friendly and reassured me that it would be an easy process. When we arrived, that same employee already knew who we were and walked us through the proper steps to filing an incident report and set us up with a new car. While we were there, a few other customers also came by either picking up or renting cars and all seemed to have great experiences as well. One lady returning a car mentioned that her car had only had 1/2 a tank of gas when she initially picked it up. Even though she insisted it was not a big deal, the employee immediately apologized and credited her for the additional gas. It's the little things that make a difference! read more

Absolutely pathetic!!! Never, ever use Hertz, at least at this location. Shankar and his son Josh are crooks. Booked a SUV for an evening and returned the same evening. Dropped keys in the box outside, per the direction of airport operations. 6 days later my cc gets hit for over $1600 for 6 days of rental. Had the vehicle for 3 hours and drove 37 miles. Exhausted all efforts to have corrected. Credit card company didn't pay the 5 additional days, it's in collections and lawyers are getting involved. Been a gold member for years and rent cars on almost a weekly basis. Not anymore, and never again from Hertz. read more

Don't deal with this company at this location. Hertz corporate says that they deliver and pick up. Yeah... not so much. The Indian man that answered was almost impossible to understand and less than helpful. I was told to give them 2 hours beforehand as the reservation was created. He chastised me for not giving a 48 hour notice, then proceeded to tell me he did not know if there was a car available. Here is a novel service idea-- check to see if a car is available prior to chastising a customer that was told the wrong policy. OR don't ever chastise the customer. Just go somewhere else. We had a fantastic experience with the St. George Airport Hertz! I prepaid online. Four days prior to the trip, I tried to upgrade from our SUV to a vehicle that fit 6. The website was down for a couple of days when I tried to change the reservation. Corporate told me there was nothing they could do, as there were no 6-seater vehicles available at the location without 48-hour notice. However, when we arrived, we received an upgraded vehicle AND the promise of a minivan the next day at no extra cost (we normally would have paid double!). Our agent was relatable and friendly. As someone who had experience traveling with kids of his own, our agent did everything he could to make the process easy for a family traveling with 3 kids (and another guest joining us later). We really appreciated the extra effort and great customer service. read more

Absolutely pathetic. Booked a car and the girl at the front desk informed us to pick up the car on Saturday. Arrived at the airport at 4.55pm and guess what????no one was there. We were basically stranded and to make matters worse after 30 mins of calling around the manager finally calls up my father in law and accuses us of being late. I guess these guys have never heard of customer service. Absolutely ridiculous, I have already warned my friends about these guys. Let the buyer beware, do not waste your time with these guys. Terrible customer service. Rented a car from them for 3 weeks and each time I extended my rental, they acted like they were doing me a favor. Jonathan told told me the gas was was not "full". He insisted in taking it the gas station to prove it was 1 gallon short. Next time I need a rental, I won't be using this Hertz! read more
