I am a physician who feels fortunate to have been Dr. Hesch's patient. The clinical setting was very informal, in his home. This provided a relaxed atmosphere for the rendering of my history which was crucial in informing his clinical gestalt. On the clinical plinth, he worked with the deftness of a master clinician applying the "spring tests" - clinical measurements of tissue deformation and recoil forces, to determine dysfunction of underlying tissues. Understanding the normal anatomy and physiology, he applied correction with the least necessary force and pressure, held for a predetermined period. The body responded seeking to align in its intended natural orientation. This process was repeated from feet to head. At each juncture, he explained his findings and intended course of action. After each correction , he assessed the response both from my report and by re-springing. This informed whether more complex interactions were at play and needed repetition of a new action or whether alignment was achieved. Dr. Hescht is a bright, compassionate, unique Master Clinician who remains a patient centered healer. He successfully addressed my stated concerns and discovered important pathologies that I had long ago accepted as "my normal". As he suggested, I plan to continue to build on his corrective work with the prescribed home exercises and some additional soft tissue work. Rachel B. I had an old ankle injury (10+ years) which I finally decided to deal with, and I didn't want surgery if it wasn't needed. I went to Jerry in the hopes that he could fix it. Rather than focusing on just the ankle, I got so much more. He examined my entire body and found so much that I have had problems with at one point or another. He worked on my joints and, for the ankles, I could feel the mobility coming back on the table. For every long-term problem, he gave me detailed instructions for exercises I could do to repair it. This is wonderful! For instance, I've been trying to correct my posture with mixed success, and Jerry discovered that my shoulder blades were raised up semi-permanently (my posture used to be very poor for years, and I could see that he was right). Rather than struggling to stand up straight and pull the shoulders down, now I have a targeted exercise to fix the underlying structure. The ankle unfortunately is probably a torn ligament, and there's only so much that can be done with that. However, Jerry gave me exercises to increase the ankle strength and heal it as well as possible with such a severe injury. I've just started doing the exercises and will update this review after doing them for a while. It became very clear to me recently why it is the case that the physical therapist Jerry Hesch isn't so well received locally and globally. I think it stems mostly from his narcissistic personality disorder. In my case it was defined by me arriving early for my appointment time only to wait an extra 15 for someone to be treated that was late. When I confronted Jerry Hesch about his disregard of my day and time, he was rude. The rest of my day was affected negatively by the time loss and o had to pay for an hour of childcare i otherwise wouldn't have had to pay for. It's as unprofessional as is working from home which is also the case of the appointment. In addition Jerry Hesch promises to leave you free of pain forever, but of he can't do that he comes up with a theory as to why and keeps your money anyways. If you follow up to him with a question about his clinical findings and instructions to revive an email suggesting he has a right to charge your credit card. I don't think Mr Hesch will see success until he learns to humble himself, respect others time equal to his own, and learn some healthy interpersonal dynamics. I went in dealing with right SI joint pain and noticeable pelvic imbalance that wasn't resolving on its own. I completed his 3 consecutive-day sessions as recommended. What stood out right away was his approach -- the adjustments are gradual and precise, not the forceful twisting or cracking you might associate with traditional chiropractic work. He's upfront about expectations: roughly 60% improvement after the initial three sessions, with the goal of reaching 90-95% over the next 6-8 weeks if you follow the program. I traveled from out of town to see Dr. Hesch and it was well worth the trip! I had pain in my left leg for months and nobody local could help. He not only corrected my pelvis, which relieved the leg pain, but also checked the rest of me and found that my shoulders were also stuck. After a 5 minute correction they felt so much looser, and the pain I had learned to ignore in my neck/shoulders suddenly disappeared. My jaw also got a subtle correction and chewing feels much easier now. Please look elsewhere for Manual Therapy. Mr. Hesch has only been a physical therapist for 7 years. He puts down everyone else in his profession and acts like he has reinvented the profession. Thing is everyone else in the proefession are not putting others down on a regular basis. When Jerry Hesh is unable to fulfill his word of leaving you without pain after each single treatment, then he comes up with a theory as to why you were not able to be helped. I had a life-changing treatment with Dr. Hesch who takes a wholistic approach and assesses the entire musculoskeletal system versus only addressing one body part in isolation. I went to see Dr. Hesch to address acute tailbone pain that had not resolved after a fall 2 years ago and in addition to correcting my tailbone, Dr. Hesch also identified and fixed mobility issues with my ankles, hips and shoulders. I had an L5-S1 disc extrusion many months ago and then developed sacral pain months later that multiple providers had dismissed. Dr. Hesch was able to finally get to the bottom of that sacral pain, and my sacral pain is now gone after a left posterior ilium was adjusted.
