As a women it's hard to find a mechanic who is actually honest about what you need for your car and who won't up charge you just for being a woman. He may be only one man but he gets the job done. Took my car to two different shops prior and they both didn't fix my breaks correctly and tried telling me I badly needed the back ones as well. Brought it here and George told me I did not need the back breaks and fixed my brakes. Generally the husband takes care of car repairs and such, but he was unavailable so I came here just to get the car smogged. When I arrived, there was a car in the bay, a guy standing next to the car (obviously the owner of the car) and no one else. After waiting a few minutes, I asked the guy if we had to check in somewhere or what. He said, "oh, the guy just went to get something to eat." Hmmm... okay, it's 1030am in the morning. So, already I was irked that the sole smog guy wasn't even there. When the guy returned 15 minutes later, I commented to him that he must have had a light breakfast for him to go grab some food so early. He just said, "yea". After the previous car was finished, the guy pulled my car around, hooked up the necessary stuff for the smog check and did his thing. He really didn't say anything else to me - perhaps I offended him by the breakfast run comments? At any rate, I was there just a total of less than 45 minutes and I was on my way. Good thing I don't need a smog for another 2 years. 2 stars for personality; 3 stars because the car was smogged successfully without any incidents. read more

Whenever I had a mechanical issue, he would give me advice on how to fix the problem as inexpensively as possible. He would not gouge me or take my money. Always there to help people first! This has been my go to place for 10 years, between personal and business vehicles, if possible we always come here for our smog certificates. Being STAR Certified seems to be what DMV requires most for our vehicles. Great service and usually short wait times. read more
