He started off talking about food and other random topics during time we were literally paying for. When we finally got into the details of her case -- including serious allegations of abuse -- instead of listening and offering guidance, he spent the majority of the consultation attacking her. He repeatedly told her that everything she did was wrong and made it feel like he was siding with the opposing party during her own consultation. At one point, he even told her to "grow up." You do not tell a young mother in distress to grow up when her child has just been taken away. It was insensitive, arrogant, and completely lacking empathy. He made the situation sound hopeless, saying it could be an uphill battle that might take up to two years. We left feeling defeated and discouraged. Thankfully, we chose to retain another attorney who offered a free consultation, charged about half the retainer, treated her with compassion, and stood by her side from day one. That attorney won our case at the first full hearing. Everything Bratton implied would be a major issue never even came up. This review reflects our experience during the consultation only. We did not move forward with his services, and we are grateful we didn't.
