But, be very careful coming back out of the falls,as the water pressure makes it harder to climb out. Be aware of the fake security the Roundhouse restaurant security will send over to ask u to get out. THEY DO NO OWN THE PROPERTY! There is no signs or gates to block access. They own the land around the waterfall. So feel free to explore and tell them to screw themselves if they bother u. It's public property and it beautiful!

Are these views to die for? Highly debatable. We came after a day where it rained the night before…read morein the late fall. There's some really cool views of what appears to be a lake, but it could also be the Hudson River. I am not sure because I had no signal at this park. When I said are the views to die for, I mean some of our hiking crew probably would have died if we weren't paying attention. There's a lot of trails that are especially narrow, on a cliff's edge, and the leaves are super slippery. Should be warning signs like die at your own risk or something. There are certain paths with wooden bridges and guard rails, but they are not frequent. If you are planning to have a picnic here, I'd suggest going to a local park instead. The only benches are at the parking lot, and there are no bathrooms... Unless you count mother nature as a bathroom.

I prefer the longer hike which has a decent scenic trail that follows a small body of water that makes for some cute photos if you pick the right spot. Atop the summit there is the make shift memorial that has gotten so big it's beginning to get ridiculous! I'm all for the sentiments of such a memorial but just 4 years ago the amount of rock memorials atop were half of what's there today. At the rate people keep adding "rocks" it will almost cover the entire top taking away precious space to sit and enjoy a sunset. Visitors need to chill with leaving huge rocks at the memorial. Otherwise this is a lovely hike that's not too difficult but the climb to the summit is a bit steep, so much so you'll find ropes to help you at the top to climb some of the rocks.

The hike to the trail head was the confusing part. Once at the trail head it was only about .6 miles each way. It's usually one of the New York City bridges or the Tappan Zee (Yes, I know it's the Mario Cuomo. I don't care for that.) but I'm a little bit further north and so it's the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge which is officially named for US Representatives Hamilton Fish III and IV. There's something to be said for name recognition. The bridge carries Interstate 84 over the Hudson, originally a single lane in each direction that was built in 1963, the second bridge was built in 1980. It is a continuous truss bridge. There is a toll to cross the bridge with payment taken only by transponder or bill-by-mail. Transponders, such as my North Carolina QuickPass, are $1.65. Driving over has had no issues for us for the most part, although, here and there, we would hit traffic. Some of that pertained to rush hour. In the area that it's in, you got to expect it to be busy since it's located in a prime location where people travel to work and also vacation. It can be a hassle, especially merging onto I-84 from 9D which requires caution and vice versa. The view is good for the most part, but not the best due to the lane being far from the rail - although, on some occasions, the further right lane may be open to view it clearly. We went today to celebrate one of our girlfriend's birthday. There was a community potluck or you can bring your own and cheer them out yourselves. Everything was allowed great place to swim some parking that was adequate. It was a perfect day to sit out by the water and enjoy jam in a wonderful community of people. The lake is beautiful to own a place here must be a dream because it is just a lovely lovely place to have a boat go for a swim and it's very quiet and reserve for just the community members my day of Sun fun music will be remembered fondly. What a beautiful piece of earth to enjoy it in.

Carnwath Farms Park was a huge discovery, and boy, it's a beautiful treat to stop at. The trail…read morethat runs through this park is called the Wappinger Greenway Trail with so many surroundings to explore, and also views to observe across the Hudson River, specifically, to the south and west, Newburgh, West Point, and The Hudson Highlands State Park, to the north, Mid Hudson Bridge, and east, a bit of Fishkill with not a whole lot of viewing. The trail starts as you enter the park, beginning on the right side before the parking lot. There are a couple of spots to park right at the trailhead. It mainly parallels the Hudson River in the woods with a couple of fields until finally reaching more fields. Following the signs, it will end toward Wheeler Hill Road with a downhill with woods. This may go down as my favorite park in the Hudson Valley. The judging belongs to you.
