I got some boba and swung by Five Daughter's Bakery AKA the bakery with the 100-layered donut / cronut which takes three days to make. If I was hungrier I would have tried out of the restaurants. One point of confusion is the parking. It's technically free, but you have to register inside to get a voucher after scanning a QR code posted outside. The marketplace is not a particularly busy area unlike downtown, so I'm not sure why the marketplace has to make it so complex. I'm not sure there are many people parking and walking off...

A good amount of stuff going on in here: you can find clothing (more on the conservativ/athleisure wear side of the spectrum), gifts, snacks, a salon, cycling classes, coffee, a Mediterranean food stand, an Italian restaurant and more. I feel like I've barely scratched the surface! While I didn't try any of the food options besides the gourmet popcorn place (which is surprisingly affordable for gourmet popcorn!) I loved the drinks I had at both Eat Bubbles (boba, matcha etc) and the irresistible Pont Neuf wine bar (both of which I'll review separately). And perhaps best of all: they have great seating areas throughout in which you can set up shop for working remotely, drinking your drinks, eating your snacks... so have at it!

When I picked up the completed frame I was unhappy that the watercolors were mounted using only corner adhesive so the edges were rippled. They explained how they treat clients' submissions with minimal adhesive to protect the valuable artwork. I told them these were only valuable to me as this is a "vanity project." Without additional charge they redid the job. I picked it up today and am thrilled by the outcome. Thank you Beveled Edge.

Murphy specifically is gifted with the art form of framing, she always listens to what I'm saying but then delicately pulls me away from my comfort zone. In the end, whatever she's suggested looks perfect. They're also fairly quick at turnaround and they understand the importance of significant, historic pieces. Each thing I've had framed....and we're probably talking more than 20 pieces in the past ten years....gets treated as if it's the original Declaration of Independence.

Worst place I have been in...ever. My wife and I will never go back…read more Worst owner. He was narcissistic, rude, condescending and cruel to customers who simply asked about prices. Vile human being. First. Super dirty feel. Did not feel like the "store" which is filled with junk has ever been swept. All the items are either overpriced, tourist crap (t-shirts, cutting boards, trucker hats.) the book and record selection was absolutely pathetic. Still we wanted to support this business. I didn't dare say anything because of what happened next. I witnessed the most ugly customer service ever in any business we have ever been in. First, another customer, an elderly man asked about book prices, and the owner basically told the man that he was cheap for asking. Then all hell broke loose when another customer bought some items that were clearly labeled as one price (I checked,) and the owner switched up the price on that customer to try to get more money. The owner lied to the customers face and then he got hostile. The customer said they didn't want the item, because the price was clearly marked, and it's the only reason he wanted the item. The owner reacted like he was being attacked...then he started screaming at the top of his lungs, basically calling the customer a liar. Then the owner started yelling profanities and vulgar language at the customer. Basically saying that he was going to "SA" the customer. It was CRAZY! Then, condescendingly, the owner told the customer to put the items back where they got them, and the customer refused. The customer told the owner that he didn't appreciate being called a liar, and the price was clearly marked. After the owner shouted "f- you." Four or five times, the customer, who was on his way out and said "f-you too, you're a liar." That enraged the owner to the extent that he started screaming and every other word was the f-word. Then it was a shouting match, because the customer had enough of the abuse and verbal assault for no reason. All over the owner either mistaking or forgetting the right price. The customer's friend was there and helped the customer walk out as the man was basically calling him a bigoted slur that shocked even people walking by outside. I ran into the couple at the bookstore down the block (Rhino Books,) where they were calming down. They pointed out that, over the years, they have bought over $100 on books, records and souvenirs from that place. At Rhino, the man spent over $500 on books, so they had money to spend that day--the customer was a really nice person who drove two hours to visit the VA in Nashville, and he chose to go to that store to support local businesses. The owner had been screaming at a decorated war veteran who was disabled! The customer was in the right this time. When I left "Cruel Stuff," I saw that the customer was right about the price. I usually only write positive things if I can. I have nothing to positive to say about Cool Stuff and Weird Things, I would call it "Cruel stuff and rude things." This owner was absolutely rude and what he did and said was completely uncalled for--the way that owner treated his customers...and then screaming I waited two days to say anything. I debated about posting this. That customer wanted to help this business out, only to be screamed at, and it was a good thing that customer had his family member with him because that rude owner was about to get violent. I don't care if they sell full-sized, brand new Corvettes for $20, me and my wife will never set foot in this store for as long as I live. Zero stars. Shame on this owner for verbally assaulting customers simply because his store is poorly organized and he doesn't even know his own prices. It's a damned thrift store, and he is so delusional that he thinks people don't barter in thrift stores. That's what is normal.

After admiring her beautiful statue, we walked through the galleries and treasury. I've been wanting to visit Nashville's Parthenon for years and it was everything I hoped it would be. Check out the website before visiting. It seems to be kept updated with closures, hours, and local events. Plus it contains a wealth of information regarding the exhibits with visitor guides and audio tours.

As someone who has visited the original Parthenon in Athens, seeing this recreation was a treat. It really gives you an idea of what the Parthenon must have looked like back in the day. I wished the renovations were done by the time I came here since I really wanted to see the statue of Pallasaathena, but it wasn't meant to be. If I lived in Nashville, I'd probably be here all the time. I came around sunset and the park grounds was full of people sitting on blankets and having picnic style dinners and just taking it easy especially in this infernal heat and humidity.

Things weren't looking good. But one check of the socials and my fears were for naught. This is just the type of business that doesn't get a lot of attention on here.* Home boutiques in this part of the metro just make sense. I'm always eager to call it 'Bellevue' but concede that West Meade might suffice. I just wouldn't call it 'Nashville.' That's not an insult; it's just, I don't know, cartography? I came here in search of good Christmas presents for mom and that's what I found. From clothes to rugs to candles to tschotskes, I was very happy with the selection and possibilities. If I was going all out (and was buying in town), I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the furniture options are fantastic. I saw couches, tables and chairs I'd like to appear in my home one day. There's a lot from which to choose so when you come in, do so expecting to spend some time. Also expect to interact with nice people. For the entirety of my time in the store (early winter, late Saturday afternoon), I was the only person in the gallery. Rather than feeling awkward or conspicuous, I was greeted with warmth, offered a cider (I passed), given gift advice, and engaged in a conversation about (what else) Vanderbilt. Even if I'd had no intention on buying a thing, after my interaction I would have done so. I truly appreciated the hospitality. In a home gallery, that couldn't be more apropos. Two For Home isn't a place you wind up at. You plan to come here. But planning yields dividends.
