We originally had a time-and-materials proposal from Handyman that could vary anywhere from about $2,100 to $3,400 which was within our budget. Robert came in and suggested he just give us a fixed price (with better fixtures) so there's no confusion. We were fine with that and were pleasantly surprised when his fixed price was at the very low end of the spread we expected. He also had to repair a broken underground line at no added charge and the outcome is better than the original. Robert was great to work with, a very nice guy, and very honest and forthcoming. Don Kruse has done work for us on 2 occasions on a home in Oroville. I do not recommend this firm…read morefor the following reasons: 1. Untimely performance. On both occasions, the job "fell through the cracks" and ended up taking over a month to complete an hour's work. 2. Poor communication. They don't adequately set or meet expectations regarding performance and do not respond routinely to emails or voicemails. I had to call them repeatedly to find out why work wasn't getting done. 3. Unfair and unreasonable pricing. Our most recent bill was $275 to reroute a circuit (which was a less than ideal solution, as it required a new breaker, but they didn't have the breaker on hand) and to install 1 GFCI outlet. 2.5 hours' time charged at $85 per hour, plus parts, for work that should have cost half that amount. Kruse apparently thinks they are "the only game in town" so they take advantage. And, they may be right -- which is why they can get away with it. From our experience, most of the contractors out that way are either useless or are crooks, so Kruse may actually be better than most. Which is sad.

if I could leave 10 stars I would, Jared was very polite, I called this morning to ask about when…read morethey could come over to look at a dryer outlet that caught on fire, was told possibly the next day, soon after they contacted me and offered to come out that day in the evening after he had dinner (something no other company would even think of doing)... he knocked out the service pretty quick. then came the dreaded bill, which was WAY more than fair under the circumstances, pretty much just the standard trip charge from other companies, I'm blown away!! If I ever needed electrical work done again I'll be calling them first, second and third!! THANK YOU north electrical!!
