Very disappointing experience. My case was passed between different lawyers, communication and continuity were poor, and after months of waiting the firm ended its representation without resolving my case. I was also left dealing with medical bills myself. In my experience, the firm was unprofessional and wasted valuable time. Where to start, well they do not communicate well with their clients. I had to always call for a status. My accident happened on Nov 11. I called little over a week ago for a status and asked for a phone call back. Never got one. I call three days after that and I learned the lawyer I had does not even work there anymore. Then I learn that they did the best the could. So if you get hit by a non-citzen, with NO CDL license, driving a CDL required truck your return for hiring them is minimal. I was not looking to get rich, but walking away with less than $12,000. Because they don't hold the trucking company accountable. They just go through the insurance. So my suggestion is sue the trucking company or other driver yourself and let them worry about where the money comes from. Because the lawyers who did not do thst much still get there 33%. Also the little chart/matrix the use is BS. Makes it seem like all accidents are same and it is there to screw the person hit. So I would find a better lawyers office because not only was I blown off several times by the office. But I value my time and money and it was a complete waste of both with this law firm. Also there claim about if you are a soldier and suffer from PTSD, we are here to help you is BS. It is a marketing scheme. I would not recommend this law firm. My daughter and I were in a car accident in August of 2022. We still do not have our settlement. We were legtimately hurt and still are. We settled on an amount that was lower than it should have been. They did not do what I wanted. We were told that the settlement check was sent on 3-11-2024 and still do not have it. EVERY time you call and ask about something, the response is always the same..."it will be 7-10 days.". I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this from Mr. Hueser (Barkley) and Aurora. We should have received ALOT more than what are getting. It is so frutrating. I cannot wait to get our settlements and we are done with this law frim....But, I am sure, it will be 7-10 more days every time we talk to them. When I asked what is going on with the status of our check, I received a snarky and rude email from Aurora. I would nevr recommend this law firm to anybody. I probably should have waited unitl I actually recieve my pathetic settlement to check before posting this but, at this point, I'm not sure I care. I would not recommend them. If you have a life altering case, please read. Update: 2022 Private information that had nothing to with my work comp case was almost released to the opposing lawyers. There was then an attempt to cover this up by a legal assistant. I was also advised I would be eligible for unemployment. This information came from Gordon himself. This was not correct due to the nature of the resolve. It would have taken a simple correction in wording to avoid this. I now cannot claim benefits I am entitled to, while looking for new employment. This entire experience over the last two years has been exhausting. Many things were done incorrectly or fell through the cracks. I was given a lot of bad legal advice. I was never advised that I should have filed for disability more than a year and a half ago. I had no idea and am unable to collect at this point. That really would have helped our financial situation through all of this. It would have made all the difference. If you want peace of mind or have a serious and complex case, go to another law firm. If it's just a small uncomplicated case and doesn't affect every aspect of your life, they can probably handle it. Over the course of two years I'd say they did about 70% of what should have been done correctly. In the end I was made somewhat whole. It wasn't 100% botched, but it was a nightmare dealing with them. The excuses and not taking fault for their many mistakes was entirely frustrating. * Staff turnover is really high. I never know who I should talk to about my case. Bills from medical care get dropped off to them and they don't follow through. Many things have hit collections. I find myself re-explaining myself to new people constantly. My case has been going on for over a year and I have been nervous that things aren't being done properly the entire time. Multiple times they have sent me paperwork to sign and said "the deadline for this is tommorrow". So it seems like a lot of things get done at the last minute. Very unprofessional, with Doug Price leading the pack. We were rear ended on I-25 by a negligent driver texting while driving with a child in the back seat. Traffic came to a stop and because she was not paying attention she rear ended us. My wife had extensive back and brain injuries and is still not quite the same. We "chose" this firm and found out it was not "just that easy". From the beginning everything went well until we went in to meet Doug. H&H misrepresented us. We submitted the police report to H&H and upon review they completely submitted the wrong information stating that my wife was driving when I was the driver and the negligence (texting) was not mentioned at all. Matter of fact nothing in the report submitted to H&H. Doug stated it did not matter that the most we were allowed would be 100K. We told him numerous times and he just continued to state the same thing. We ended up getting a settlement and did some research and Doug was incorrect due to the negligent driver. Well to make a long story short, H&H ended up receiving more then we did. At that time Doug stated that "now it's time to go after the big boys" for a under insured driver. He came back with a 2K offer which we declined. Today we went in and obtained a check within amount that came out of nowhere. At which time said because we had missed a few appointments they (H&H) did not feel comfortable representing us after they had agreed to represent us. Doug did not realize we were not comfortable with him representing us. Anyway he said we should go find another lawyer, of course after H&H obtained 47K from our settlement for doing nothing, but being unprofessional and misrepresenting us. I would not recommend H&H especially Doug Price for any type of legal representation. We are so sorry we decided on H&H to represent us, should have went with "The Strong Arm" I just hope Mr Hueser reads this review so that H&H will know about the practices of Doug Price. read more

Very Unprofessional office and management. The people I spoke to about my case were kind but all the staff in the office seemed frazzled, overworked and unhappy. I'm not sure the Heusers realize how bad that looks to clients. But it may be time to look at the issues and my guess is it is the leadership. While their for a meeting heard one of the Managers(I assume) yelling at staff. Also the smell of MMJ was outside when several staff members were outside. Just seems like a really poorly run firm. Called H&H for representation for my son who was hit by another driver and sustained injuries and his car totaled. A phone conference was scheduled with Barkely Heuser who asked about my son's accident in full detail and also answered some of our questions. He made us feel "comfortable" and assured us that we had a case and to just "fill out the forms". We told him that we previously requested TWICE (prior to scheduling the phone conference)to have the forms emailed to us but to no avail. Mr. Barkely assured us that he would take care of this and that Ms. Tasha Johnson would email us the forms. We NEVER received the forms AGAIN but received a call from Ms. Tasha a week or so later stating that Barkely decided he will NOT represent us. When asked why, she could not give us A LEGITIMATE ANSWER When asked to speak with Mr. Barkely to personally tell us why he dropped us, all we got was that "he is in meeting but he will write a letter to your son explaining why will not represent you". We have yet to see this letter in the mail. It's been 3+ WEEKS AND NO LETTER! To be involved in an accident which wasn't your fault and having to deal with injuries and insurances is very stressful much less being assured that you will be taken cared of by an attorney and then suddenly dropping your case. Their commercials of "It's just that easy!" and reading their website regarding "taking away your worries and stress ", "a compassionate team", "dedicated lawyers" is ALL FALSE AND MISLEADING! Never work with these scumbags unless you like having to track down records, bills, payments and other duties that you hired these fools to do, yourself. On their commercial they state they will fight for you. Which is a complete lie, they left out one part: they'll fight for you but only if your case is worth 100 k or more if not they do the bare minimum. This came straight from Gordon Heuser's own mouth he told me "your case is only worth 10k and I'm not gonna use up my time or my associates time to try and get you more money. Now if your case was worth a 100k or more than we'd be willing to try harder and put more risk into the case" the worst part is I had to give these dirt bags 33 1/3% of my cut for them to just do the bare minimum. I could have walked away with a lot more money if I pursued it myself, shit I did half the work myself after all. So heed my warning and choose a different and more reliable firm to work your case. read more

If there was a "zero star" option available, I would have chosen that. I was in an auto accident in July, 2015, where I was injured after being forcefully rear-ended and thrust into into another vehicle in front of me. I went to Heuser and Heuser for representation, they readily agreed to take my case, and I was assigned to one of their attorneys, Patrick Salt. The day Mr. Salt took my case was the one and only time I met with, or even spoke to him, until the day he dropped me 19 months later. The only contact I received from the firm during that time as their client, other than periodic letters, were from legal assistants, and ONE face to face with Mr. Salt's paralegal. (They went through three different legal assistants during my time as their client, and each time a new one was brought on, I literally had to give them every detail of my case, the doctors who were treating me, etc. as though the last one had not kept any notes or records of the previous conversations I had with them). I often would not hear from anyone for 2-3 months at a time, then I would have to call them to ask how/what was going on with my case. Whatever assistant was there at the time, would either make up some sort of excuse about why I had not been contacted or why things were taking so long, such as saying my doctors had still not sent them my records, or something similar that put blame on someone else. Sometimes they offered me no excuse, and simply told me they would get back to me; then another several weeks or months would go by. To make a long story short, they completely neglected my case for a year and a half, then when they realized they either screwed it up or weren't going to be able to make enough money off of me, I was called in to speak with Mr. Salt for the second and last time at the end of February, 2017. This was when he told me he "didn't feel comfortable" representing me anymore and withdrew from my case. I was given no warning, and when I pleaded with him not to do this to me and asked for a reason why, he refused to give me an explanation, he literally opened his office door and responded with "have a good day." So now I'm left with a stack of paperwork as thick as an encyclopedia, with no idea how to proceed, attempting to find another attorney who is willing to take a tarnished case. Heuser and Heuser either does not care at all about their clients or the senior attorneys have no idea what goes on with the lower level cases. I wasn't treated like a human being, but just a disposable "case number" that was only worth whatever potential money I could make them, and once they thought they couldn't make enough off me, I was thrown away like a piece of garbage.
