I never leave Hex empty-handed. The black and red aesthetic is so striking and sets the perfect tone as soon as you walk in. They have an incredible variety of tools and supplies, from poppets and candles to crystals and incense, plus there's always something new to discover. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and you can book a session with a psychic if you're looking for a reading. One of my favorite finds has been their gorgeous spell cords. They're beautifully crafted and eye-catching.

Amazing reading and experience. Store is clean, moody, has a great vibe and the readings were great!

This was my first time in This store. And it is very interesting. Alot of spells and things of that nature. Soaps, candles, dolls, statues, etc. Alot of eye catching material. I left here with soap and a candle that my woman got me. Smells great and I plan on getting more. I would come back here.

Hex, the enchanting witch factory nestled in the heart of Salem, Massachusetts, is a bewitching haven that seamlessly blends craftsmanship and the mystical. Stepping into Hex feels like entering a realm where magic and artistry converge, creating an atmosphere that captivates from the moment you cross the threshold. The craftsmanship on display at Hex is truly magical. The shelves are adorned with spellbinding creations, from intricately designed potions to carefully crafted spell kits. Each item is a testament to the dedication and skill of the artisans behind Hex, who bring a touch of the ethereal into every creation. Very unique place for certain. It's a small place for sure.

I got a reading from willow and she was so awesome. Spot on about everything about me. And gave some great advice and guidance for my life

This was a cute shop. They had some awesome leather bound books and these great hats! I need one but my head is ginormous. Plus, they had lots of candles and crystals and stuff, like many of the other places. Staff was very nice though distracted by some noise coming from the neighbors. I couldn't hear it, but it was really bothering them, i guess. I might have to buy a hat, y'all.

I was able to wander into HEX during a rainy day - seems like a story right? The shop itself is on the smaller side, but when I walked into the shop I could see somebody was having a private reading in the window. Unfortunately the day I went they were booked solid until 5 pm and I had somewhere else to be that evening. The store has a lot of inventory, from crystals, to potions, to jewelry and cloaks. Everything was well priced in the inventory and I was able to get some goodies, two pendulums and an evil eye bracelet. The girl working at the cashier said if the bracelet breaks - it means it did it's job of protecting you from something bad. This is a store that even if you do not buy anything, it is worth the the wander through. However, I think there is something for everybody in this mysterious little shop in Salem.

Stopped in Salem Ma and found ourselves drawn to this shop. Had a tarot reading for my birthday and the reader was accurate, supportive and genuine. The store staff was helpful, the merchandise colorful, interesting and I hear magical! Lots to choose from jewelry, books, candles, herbs, potions, charms, beautifully carved brooms, really endless choices for anyone interested in all things witchy. They have events, classes and educational materials to help you learn historical facts, current practices or just to have a new experience. There is nothing scary, though there are things for all levels and varied approaches to the practice. So if your a curious tourist, or a practitioner, stop in when you next visit Salem. We left with jewelry, a journal and a spell kit, plus a lovely experience.

An interesting store. Something I struggled with in Salem was a lot of the high commercialism of…read morewitchcraft I experienced. I found the energy here a bit overwhelming and at times catering to tourists, which wasn't quite the experience I was seeking as someone who has a deep spiritual practice. My mom had a great tarot reading here with a witch close to her age and said it was a wonderful experience. I wasn't a part of that experience so I'm a bit limited in commentary there, but I'm thrilled she was happy. The reading was done in an very small booth-like setting behind a curtain right against the hustle and bustle of the store (if you're an empath or claustrophobic, be forewarned that this can be very overstimulating). This felt unusual to me since I'm used to tarot readers needing energetic space and room to focus. OMEN has a fabulous selection of books I could have looked at all day. I'd love to come back to this store sometime not in the fall and see if my experience feels different. I adored the tarot artwork in the back of the shop and the nice selection of tarot and oracle decks.

Deceptive service. I booked an appointment with Shalimar over the phone. First, they promised a…read moreZoom reading, but then switched it to a phone call. I am almost certain it was not Shalimar who read my cards, since she has good reviews and the woman I spoke with was completely incompetent. Nothing she said applied to me. I ended the call after 15 minutes--a real charlatan. Don't agree to a telephone reading, because they could have anyone read your cards. Mine sounded like she was just reading from a script.

By all means go to Salem in person for a tarot reading BUT …read more.. You don't have to physically go to Salem to have divination with a real Salem witch. And Nick Dickinson is one of the witchiest of witches. And available for readings at The Cauldron Black. I have gone to many different readers, and of course everyone has their different styles, but Nick is my "go to" for divination when I need to cut the crap and hear what the cards have to say. This person has a really impressive background and deep relationship with the tarot and is a talented, masterful reader. My divinations with Nick have been spectacular- on point, clear, WILDLY accurate. You truly do not need to say a lot or give tons of context for your question - he does not seem to want a lot of exposition- so maybe go in knowing what question you want to ask and just let him do his thing. You can book online at The Cauldron Black's website (for VERY reasonable prices btw, especially considering the depth of knowledge and history they have as a reader, wow). He calls on time, no chitchat, keeps it super professional, neutral and boundaried. I am usually offered a choice of decks and he sends a photo of the spread so you can follow along. Also he keeps the reading to time, in a really skillful way. And of course he leaves space where you can ask questions. Kindof a sidebar, but if you have never considered a phone reading as an option: I have found that I really enjoy and appreciate (and honestly might actually prefer) getting a reading over the phone - I can be in my own space, sit at my altar etc. For me, I can be a little more distracted or ungrounded when I'm in public - when I get a phone reading I can just drop in and afterwards do some journaling and thinking and be quiet if I need to... and just kindof digest the divination, which I think helps me to integrate it. If you are looking for a talented, insightful, HIGHLY experienced reader I could not recommend Nick Dickinson more wholeheartedly.

There are so many witch/occult type stores in Salem, do yourself a favor and go to ANY other place…read morethan this one. I went there to get my son some gems, which he was really excited about. It seemed like a cool new place I could take him. The woman working there made the experience awful. She acted like she had never seen a toddler before in her life, and was hovering, cold and rude. One of the glass display cases had been left open, and my son was (under my direct supervision) looking through some of the rocks on display, when she rushed over and said to not touch anything without permission, and closed the case and locked it... no "can I help you"? or "any questions"?... just a frigid, angry vibe. I mentioned that the case had been left open by someone else (obviously her since it seemed to require a key), indicating that it was ok to browse. she didn't say a word in response. I had the distinct feeling she was watching us, and after a few minutes she came over to ask if I wanted her to "hold onto" the 4 rocks/gems my son had picked out, while we looked around... in a tone that suggested she was worried he would either do something nefarious with the gems, or we would steal them. Then when I was in the middle of making our purchase, my son was looking at this rock wind chime looking thing, being totally respectful and gentle. She took it right out of his hands. So If you like cold, uninviting shopkeepers that don't respect your children's personal space and snatch things out of their hands, by all means visit The Calderon Black!
