This is the best game store in broward county by a mile. The service is great and it's a great community.

Dipped in here today to catch my friend playing 40k. The shop just moved to a larger unit in the same plaza and might be a little hard to find on Google maps. The move is obviously also very recent and there is still some work to be done on the new location. That being said the game space is really large they had at least 10 tables of 40k going for a tournament, and then another area with a big group playing mtg. All the tables looked pretty friendly and it was a pretty impressive turnout for the day. I didn't price check their stock but I would go back for a 40k or mtg event. read more

Update 1/21. I've been here a few time since my initial review. Though I got off on the wrong foot, I've got to say I do feel very welcomed here and I feel that my concerns were heard and acknowledged. In life, we don't always agree, but it's ok to move past it and grow from the discomfort in difference. And also- the bathrooms are amazing. I love an LGS with a clean bathroom. I haven't been playing magic much of late, but HWP has definitely stepped up and is filling a spot in the community with a good balance of competitive and casual. read more

I have been going to the store for 3 years and found a friendly community of gamers a helpful staff and great customer service. They assist with product selection, paints, paint supplies, special orders, and much more. Also because I travel long distances from home, I get a discount on many products The game tournaments are Hugh with lots of prizes for winners and a raffle based on the games played with more tickets when games are lost. Because I do not have a winning record I have more chances at the raffles I play 40K Warhammer but see lots of card games played as well. I highly recommend this store. Ask for Chris! read more

For simply posting a link to my eBay listing of my Warhammer army I'm selling to their miniatures Facebook group, I was banned from the store. The owner then proceeded to blame me for losing over $6000 in third party sales and allegated that I have caused other issues but could not tell me what I have done. I am a die-hard Warhammer player and hobbyist and spent my hard earned money in this store and I guess if your a business owner the smart thing to do is ban an ever diminishing customer base. At this point the attitude of the owner is unreasonable and treats players like dollar signs. I highly recommend not spending your money or time at this establishment and suggest other gaming stores in Broward County. If you decide to neglect my advice be forewarned you will walk on eggshells while playing there and have to watch what you say. The best part is I am a Marine currently serving our country and he banned me on Veterans Day. The owner did tell me if I basically work and promote his store while assuming all responsibility of the loss of $6000, I would be able to return. Yeah, not happening. Even if the owner paid me to come back to the store I would not. The store needs to have new management and a new owner. It would not surprise me if this recommendation was deleted. read more

Back in September 2020 as a returning player to MTG (Magic the gathering) I decided to start playing Commander(EDH), decided to check out some of the LGS My Favorite was Hey Wana Play the Staff was friendly while not the nicest store it had a homie Vibe to it and had cool people to interact with . During the months of September - Nov I spent an upward of 3k$ on sealed product (they literally had to restock booster boxes because and buddy and i bought nearly everyone) and Singles from their magic binders . I started to want to build other decks or acquire new cards . i began to trade with the other players (big surprise right trading card game) in the store based on how much their card was vs how much my card or cards were worth for Equal value , I even attempted to purchase cards i wanted from the store but their supply is lacking via singles . So ne random Sunday everyone is playing commander trading bla bla . And the store owner Chris has someone move out of their seat and talk to My self my buddy zach and another female player cant recall their name . Looks me and my buddy in our face and tells us that since we've came to the store he's taken losses to his magic sales since people don't want to sell him their cards and we're the sole reason has losing money, Not the fact that he pays people 40% of what their cards are worth, and makes no attempt to actual support magic (He's a Warhammer store Check Yelp reviews). Not only did he tell us this but he set a "trade limit" to the value of the cards we can trade between each other because anything over a specific value we're hurting his business . This is only the first instance of this, in April 2021 after giving it some time to cooldown and give Hey wana play another shot I bring my buddy another BIG magic player in the community with a sweet collection to their Thursday modern event two people i know Were discussing cards that have gone up in price (modern staples) Not selling not trading only discussing the prices. Chris takes it upon him self to get into their conversation and tell them that they're in competition with the store because of the value of johns cards mind you no cards were traded or sold , simple discussion. i would avoid this store like the plague if you go to other lgs or have any plans to sell stuff you have purchased . read more

I've been in here once. I was looking for the pathfinder player's handbook. I was ignored by the one staff member in there, then when I found what I was looking for, and didn't spot a store library of well used gaming books, I gently was perusing through the player's handbook. At that point, I was no longer ignored, but asked to not look through the books. Most gaming stores I've been at have either had their own store library for commonly sold items, and the ones that don't, I've never had a single store owner or employee ask me not to look through hardback books until that day. Stores that didn't want you looking through softcover books had the books in clear plastic bags. Being ignored, the general vibe, then being asked not to look at something I was looking to purchase turned me off completely. read more

"Hey Wanna Play Game Store" is my new game headquarters. Family owned, friendly, reasonably priced, and family friendly! For opening weekend, I saw traditional RPGs like Warhammer and D&D as well as a few new games I haven't heard of. Played Dominion (card game) for the first time which was awesome as well as making new friends. Loved the Collector's versions of The Game Of Life: Dungeons & Dragons as well as the My Little Pony version which freaked me out but is so cute for the little kids. They are already on a requested search for games screens that are out of print. And with Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon Cards, it's gonna be the place for "In-Store Gaming". They have enough tables and comfy chairs to go around. read more

Great gaming spot - if I lived nearby this would be my go to. Awesome selection of minis and tons of room to play. They are one of the few game stores I've seen that hosts my little pony. I also liked how they have a TV set up playing shows while tournaments are going on so that if your just there to watch you can space out time to time. I'm a magic player so I enjoyed their display and selection offers. The owner was also pleasant compared to a few others I've seen. (Usually ranging from depressed or just never around themselves.) Anyways I'd recommend this store to anyone in the area. Too bad it's just too far for me. read more

New to the South Florida area as my wife and I just moved down here from the Charlotte area. I've been searching for game store close to where I live and finally found it at Hey Wanna Play. I've been attending the MTG drafts on Friday night, as well as the commander league on Sundays. The staff are always eager to help, the store is very welcoming, and the players are friendly and have taught me a lot about the area. Excited to return today for Commander! read more

They just expanded their store and it looks really nice. There's good space for whatever game you are in to, and they have much more merchandise than they did. If you are into Pokemon, MTG, FoW, whatever card game, this is the place for you, and if there's one that's not as popular, Lawrence will work with you to help launch it. Used to play MTG when I was younger and decided to begin playing again when a friend of mine became interested. Other stores in the area were full of rude people who didn't appear to like newcomers. This place was much different, and there is always someone to play MTG with even if it is not an event night. Everyone should support this new store! read more

Love the store. They have a nice selection of games for the kids as well as the adults. A really nice game playing area and super clean.
