This comic store has been here for well over 15 years & I've been a customer of theirs for quite some time. From the outside it doesn't seem too big but you quickly realize how much space they're working with when you step inside. They're filled out wall to wall with comics, collectibles, figures & even have a RPG space set up. I've been to stores that heavily favor one category like super heroes, for example, while leaving all the other genres hanging. PPF however, has one of the best selection of varieties in my opinion. They're loaded with DC, Marvel, TMNT, horror, manga & also carry some niche ones. I also appreciate how they stay up to date on weekly & monthly releases with a section dedicated to them. Prices are solid & they often have a couple limited/exclusive variants. These are a bit overpriced but sometimes it's better to get them in person & support local rather than online & deal with shipping. Years ago, customer service was a bit iffy but recently it's been nothing but great. They greet you right away, have no issues answering questions & act like they appreciate your business. This is a great place to check out if you're a fan of pop culture, comics, figures or books in general. It's really hard to stop by & not leave with something in hand. read more

Incredible and well organized comic section (back issues and current releases) and a huge selection of other knick knacks + fan stuff. Fair prices. They maintain a nearly full stock of current releases no matter the day of the week. The staff are also SUPER sweet, had a lot of great suggestions. Spoke to one of the staff about absolute Wonder Woman and she had a ton of recommendations on other comics I might like. A note on the low reviews: I came here before and had the chance to talk to the current owner, the shop has come under new management, so don't let the low reviews scare you! This has genuinely been one of my favorite comic shops in South Florida so I definitely recommend checking it out. I used to be a frequent customer at this shop, and have made many purchases here. The store is extremely well organize, and clean, but ... unfortunately, my being a loyal customer here was met with rudeness and aggressive behaviors by an employee who has his arm sleeved with many tattoos/ Batman-Nightwing tattoos. I'm not sure if he still works at this location, but if he is...steer clear. This rude and aggressive jerk attempted to blatantly swindle me while I was selling a statue. Before that, he was doing the same with another customer, who was expressing interest in purchasing, a large poster or sign that hung over the check out counter. Needless to say, I ended up severing ties due to his aggressive, and unprofessional behavior. If you see this guy (with the tattoo sleeve, that contains a Batman or a Nightwing, steer clear, or do not frequent this store. He will most likely ruin your experience. I am rating with only 2 Stars due to this location's organization and cleanliness, but this jerk ruined it for me. read more

Great big comic store with a massive assortment of Marvel and DC comics in addition to games, action figures and statues. Competitive prices on several back issue comics. A cool live game area too. The staff was very knowldgeable of the store items. Will be back for sure. read more

Come here often with my kids who like the anime and manga selection. I myself come for gunpla. They have a decent selection. Their prices are very close to retail or online retailers give or take $5-10$ more on MG kits. I prefer to support brick and mortar stores so I don't mind paying a little more on MG kits. HG kits are usually right at retail. RG kits maybe $5 over especially for the older kits. But overall it's nice to have a decent selection where I can shop for a physical in my hand product. Support you local card and comics shops. read more

Beautiful store but you would think you can go to these Mom and pop places and get decent prices on things that cost five bucks when they're released in stores and then resell them for 120% profit. I remember when you can go to the stores and pay almost the same price, but everybody is charging scalper prices now. i went here a few months ago, and it's honestly great. reminds me a bit of tate's or FFF, and their selection reflects that comparison well, i'd say. they had a bunch of comics, anime statues, figures, gundams, and my holy grail, sh figuarts right at the front. they had two web exclusives last time i went, but they were 50-ish bucks above msrp and i couldn't afford it sadly. the guys at the front were pretty nice too, i bought a sarsaparilla from their huge fridge and they complimented my choice. i'd go again. and again. and maybe a few more times read more

Man do I have history with this store. Awhile back the store was listed as a "gaming store" on Google so I decided to call them and ask if they could do trade ins. But what I got was an earful from whoever answered the phone about how trading in games is stupid and how dare I call their shop. Now granted that was at least 7-8 years ago. I happened to move closer to the shop five years back and decided to give it another try. Yes the store is organized but upon closer inspection the prices are much higher than other places and good luck trying to return anything. There's a small sign next to the register that I didn't see until the owner pointed out to me, in a really pissed off mood, when I went to return some model tools that I realized were the wrong size after getting home. If the bald guy with tattoos is there and you NEED to get a comic just go in, spend your money and leave. He never seems to be in a good mood and is severely unhelpful. I was really hoping that the store would have improved over time but very few things with regards to customer service seem to have changed. If you look through other reviews you'll unfortunately see people having a pretty similar experience. What's really disheartening is that some people will walk into this comic shop hoping to get into comics, board games, model kits, anime/manga and be completely turned away from the hobby because of how this place treats its customers. read more

While this place has an enormous and generous amount of new comics as well as old comics, what it has a lot of comics it lacks with customer service. While saying hello is a nice welcome, not being asked if we need help once when they clearly see we're confused is okay but then when it comes to paying that's when the owner (I think) decided to disregard that customers were in the store and take his phone call to someone right infront of everyone. Within this phone call he cursed four times, and not little curses, hard S and everything. I have been lenient when I came the last couple times because this place is insanely close to me but this most recent trip really was the final nail on the coffin when it came to cursing and not caring about customers being right in front of him, waiting to pay. read more

All I can say is I'm glad Chris is now running the store , this was the best experience I've ever had in this store . I drive from Miami to find gundams and other collectibles and the previous person running the store never made me feel welcomed nor was he helpful which made me drive further north to a different location or just get what I wanted cheaper from Amazon.. but with that said I felt welcomed by Chris and even had a nice conversation off topic from comics about our other hobbies which if that's not great customer service I don't know what is. Looking on yelp/google reviews I wasn't sure what to expect on customer service. Honestly pretty pleasant. I called ahead asking about Gundams the guy answered with a "hell yea we got a whole wall here!". Loved his attitude was great in person too he even pushed some sales(snipping tools and sanders) in a useful way without being pushy about it. I grab digi figures for the wife and gunpla for me, put on the coutner and came back to finish the transaction. Nice convo with him and that was it. Today at around 11ish in the morning when PPF Davie opened, I stopped in to try and EXCHANGE a bag of comic bags that were mistakenly purchased. When I first walked in I spoke cordially to the guy with the bald head that was covered in tattoos behind the counter. He didn't even respond because he was in the middle of a personal call. So after 3 minutes he was completed with his call, he then acknowledged I existed and was standing right in front of him. I told him about the problem I had with the purchase i made the day prior. he immediately tried to blow me off and tell me "store policy all sales are final and no exchanges." I then asked him if he was really not going to rectify the situation and just let me switch these out for a same priced item. He again started to try and go around from fixing this problem. I then told him " dude, that's messed up. I spend a good amount of money here and you can't do anything for me ? If it's like that then I'm just going to stop shopping here then." He then exits his counter and register approaches closely to me. about 3 to 4 feet or so as if he was trying to intimidate me. He  starts going off on a rant of " you know you think you're entitled to something." And blah blah blah. I at this point I couldn't believe the comic shop cashier spoke to me in a belittling manner and tried to get nasty with a customer just trying to fix a problem. At that point i told him "you know what? I'll keep the bags but won't be shopping here at this place again... " he then muttered a curse word to me as I walked out. Bottom line this store has gone down the drain. It used to be a pleasure shopping there when Chris worked there. Not so much with This guy with the tattoos all over his arms and shaved head with his jailbird appearance . Now this event has ruined any chance of me returning to do business with this shop again. this coming from a guy who would spend good money here once to twice a month buying comic supplies and other items. Btw their "policy" is all sales final and they won't do exchanges. So basically a mistake is made by a customer or whatever and they can weasel out of fixing the dilemma or helping out a customer. What ever happen to the customer is always right ? and they expect to stay in businnes with someone like this working there ? Brought in a box of books to sell not realizing a rare book was inside. Guy was quick to make a offer based as if it was a box of junk that would go in the dollar bins. I accepted not knowing better. Next visit I over hear him telling another customer that I'm the guy who gave him the rare book that is probably going to come back as a grade 9.8. That's when I put 2 and 2 together realizing he was proudly bragging how he stiffed me! I believe it's the same guy that used to run the Miami Con. First and maybe yhe last time I go to this place. The place is nice ,it's huge and has a variety of things. Very clean and not cluttered. Customer service is ok. Ed was very nice but really did not know what he was talking about when it came to Model kits. He stated they had the largest selection which might be true, because with the prices they are selling the kits at they might aswell keep them. Prices are ridiculous. Model kits are way over priced. Example a model gundum I was looking at for 99.99 that they sell, you can get at hobby lobby for 30.00. He was bosting about how great there kits where and such. I kinda told him the prices where a bit high and that if people really wanted to save they can go to hobby lobby even go online I guess he got a lil offended and said and I quote "oh yeah well maybe you should shop there." I guess he was just having a bad day. Two star and not one because the store was clean and they did have alot of amazing things. In conclusion if you don't mind price rates super high where your wallet is being abused. Or where the customer service is just well like Ed my say shitty. Then this is your store. At first it was Yelp check-ins that coerced me do it. I was attempting to claim a Geek badge for my own, and read that visiting comic book shops was the way to do it. Interestingly, similar as to what occurs after purchasing a new ride (suddenly you start seeing the same make and model everywhere)...I became hyper sensitive to anything and everything comic book and animae. People around me were talking about going to ANIMATE. I turn on the television and it is Pokemon... The sign on the marquee on the way to work began shouting in huge red letters "COMICS TOYS and ANIMAE" ...who was I to ignore the signs? I am by no means an avid reader of comics and I have never attended Comic Con, Animate, or SuperCon. I do have cousins that read Manga and my little one loves the Animae cartoons, so I figured along my adventure for the Geek badge I would purchase some merch for them. At first I was nervous to go in and became overwhelmed with the amount of merchandise they have. I did not encounter any rude regulars. All the customers that were chatting to the cashier smiled and said hello. I just stared like a deer in headlights and when I was given direction on how to find what I was looking for, well I forgot my left from my right. Every single paperback item is sealed in a plastic bag and taped. The store is immaculate and very well organized. There are tons of different comics and animae. There is also a large selection of Japanese toys. I didn't see the area they have for gaming, as I was not very adventurous. I was delighted at the selection they had for kids. I didn't pay 35% more than I could have online (I checked). Additionally, there would have been no one online to help me figure out what I was looking for. Much like the other reviews, the thing I'm going to comment on most is the customer service. It's a comic book store, so that shouldn't even be the high or lowlight of a trip, but unfortunately, it was. Being at a coffee shop also in the plaza, we saw the store sign and decide to wander in. The first thing the man at the counter said to me before a "hello" or "how's it going?" (which he actually never even said to me or my friends), was "Put down the coffee, you can't have it here." So I promptly apologized and set it on the counter. Rules are rules, I understand that so I put it down. After I put it down, he seemed to lighten up a little and made a joke about me not bringing him coffee so I laughed it off and walked around. The only problem I had with that was I saw an area with a few tables where people were playing board games and cards, etc and there was a boy with coffee sitting right there. I guess because I am not a regular or am not playing cards (which I totally would've brought my super impressive Pokemon collection if I had known I was coming, and yes, I do have a holographic Gyrados AND Mew), that I do not get preferential treatment. Besides that, one of my friends opened a comic book and also got scolded. Like I said, I understand rules, I work at a business establishment as well and by no means think I am superior, but when I tell my customers rules, I try to be polite and fair from the get go. At least greet them first? I don't know. And reading the other reviews, mine is not an exaggeration. Anyways, for the good stuff. The selection! The two stars are because it is huge and well-organized. Everything has a place and section and most of the transitions in between make sense. It's fairly easy to browse and find what you're looking for, even if you're not a super, mega comic genius. There is also something for everyone. There were literally FROZEN figurines as well as Batman, Spiderman, etc and a whole section dedicated to the Walking Dead (DARYL DIXON ughhh, My hubby). It IS overpriced so I would definitely check Amazon if you don't have a few $100 to spend on comic merch unless you're very serious about it or a collector. Lots of comics, also organized well and mostly priced from $3.50 and up, Walking Dead comics were $25.00 -.- But for the classics, you could dish out a little bit to get some cool things. I would stop by if you're in the plaza and check it out at least once because it does look really cool and I was geeking out a little, but I probably wouldn't be a return customer or make a trip to go. I feel like I've been living under a rock for the last 3 years because I can't believe I'm just finding out about this place now! Now, I've read other people's reviews on this place, and I sort of have to disagree/agree with them on the customer service part. When I walked in, there was no "hello!" or "welcome to our store!"... Unless they did say that, then I was just in too much awe to even realize it haha. No one asked if we needed help.. yada, yada, yada. BUUUUT! At check out, the man who took care of my boyfriend and I was very pleasant and nice, he asked if we found everything we need, and wished us a nice day at the end, so I guess it balanced each other out? Haha. Besides that, this place has a warehouse feel on the inside, full of comic books, graphic novels (majority of them are sealed, so just assume you can't open them), mangas, toys and plushies from different movies, TV shows, and animes, and a very largeee collection of Pop figures. They had so many we even found a rare Eren Jaeger (Attack on Titan! Woo!) and Anger and Sadness (Inside Out), I highly doubt you can find these characters anywhere else. On Friday nights they have Friday Night Magic (not for me, my boyfriend lol). They also have a nice selection of Japanese candies and drinks. All in all, in my opinion this place is pretty cool, and I could definitely kill a few good hours of my day just wandering the store. read more

I had high hopes for this store after being a Facebook fan pre-opening. The pictures always looked great, and they were always posting awesome details about new items, events, etc. When I finally went I wasn't impressed. A longtime fan of Tates comics, I guess I'm spoiled on their awesome. They do have a decent selection of comics and Japanese funky things, but a large chunk of the store is devoted to tabletop gaming, which I'm just not into. The store is spacious and laid out nicely, but that's a problem - there's not as much stuff to buy/browse with all the empty area. The staff...well, it was a Saturday afternoon and there only seemed to be ONE girl working. She was nice and friendly, but a bit overwhelmed. We were later helped by another guy who seemed pissed he had to put down his lunch to run the register while the girl tried to help other customers and field a phone call. He ended up not knowing what he was doing on the computer and we had to wait for the girl to come fix our total. All in all, I wouldn't make the drive all the way down here again unless it was a super special sale. They should just stick to running Florida Supercon. read more

This is the only bad review I've ever had to write in my whole life. The owner of this store will non stop bully your kids and make a big scene if your kids are there to play yugioh or buy yugioh cards. He makes it known this is a Magic The Gathering store only and Yugioh players ARE NOT welcome here, so don't even ask or he will expose you in front of everyone to make you look like a fool. I wish I was joking and I wish I didn't have to write this review because this is the only TCG and comic store in my area. When you shop at a comic book store, a few things are expected: many back issues of comics; toys/games; overpriced collectibles. This shop delivers in all of those categories. The store is large and impressively stocked. Unfortunately, it also is run by the clichéd "comic book guy" type person durring my visit. This can be summed up as sense an unwelcome-ness; a lack of customer service; and a general feeling that you're imposing. Like any small shop owner, I understand the perils of annoying customers pawing over merchandise and not buying anything. I feel for them, but this is standard in all retail operations. Having worked in jobs with the public, you'll learn quickly that customers can READ you like a book. They can tell that you hate your job, no matter how good you think you're covering it up. Obviously, something is amiss here. It takes a passion to run a store this big, but there is disdain for those who visit. The lack of a greeting or even asking "Can I help you find anything today?" sets the tone. Maybe the comic book store culture is lost on me, but in today's age of big box competitors, digital subscriptions, and e-commerce, it seems that the only differentiating asset a brick and mortar store has is their customer experience. If you're one of those in-and-out shoppers, none of this will bother you. You can pop into the shop, pick up what you need and browse in silence. If you're someone that has any needs outside of this (i.e. gift recommendations; shopping with kids for kids comics; competitive pricing), then shop elsewhere. read more

I don't think I'm the only person who's had a very negative interaction with the bald guy at the front. If he's the owner, he clearly does not know how to do sales, because he did not make me feel comfortable at all. I immediately felt bad energy and left even, though I was about to blow some cash on some comics. He won't be in Business long with that attitude. read more

Bad experience here waited 3 weeks for a comic book that sold out when I was told their other location had it and will be transfer. I paid the original price waited and no one called I had to go to the store and checked, I was told the comic books were never sent so I waited again till I finally got the call that the comics were ready for pick up. When picking up the comics that I waited for 3 weeks and paid already I was told I was to pay additional $6 I was like WTF even the manager who was there had no idea of what was happening, he was rude lack of customer service what so ever. I told him he just lost a customer cause he didn't want to hear my situation. But I'm glad I found Korka comics, bought the same comic book and they gave me a 20% off from the same comic book I was looking for my son. Ok read more

What. A. Find!!! My friends and I were in Miami for the weekend but flew in and out of the airport in Ft. Lauderdale. My buddy and I were the last two to leave and had several hours to kill so we decided to go ahead and leave for Ft. Lauderdale early and just find something to do there. We're both fans of comic books and stuff so we thought it'd be fun to check this place out. Seriously, what a find. My buddy is more of a toy and statue collector and I'm more of a reader. We were both in awe of the goods this comic book shop had to offer. I have NEVER seen a statue collection like the one displayed along the walls. Just, wow! So many super high quality statues of famous characters line the tops of the shelves running all the way around the shop. The comic book collection was equally impressive and I had a great time shopping around the aisles for some reading material for the flight home. They have tons of single issues, full volumes, manga, kids comics, board games, trading card games, you name it they either got it or I'm sure they have connections to order it. The employee who greeted us that day was also very friendly and made us feel welcome despite the lengthy amount of of time we spent browsing and just sitting around and talking. I was in the neighborhood and was looking to pick up some back catalog. From what I understood, management was in the process of transition to Florida Super Comics from the previous management. In fact, while I was there, the staff was busy reorganizing and moving around merchandise. The store is well lit with ample space between isles. One side of the store is comics and the other side is games. Mixed into the middle is a section for collectables. Employees were very friendly and extremely helpful. I was also buying a board game to play with friends. Their prices were highly competitive with Amazon. If they keep their prices competitive with online prices, they will do very well. I will need to reserve final judgement on this store over the long term, but I will be sure to visit them again. Bottom Line: Worth a visit, but let them get setup and reorganized. It seems they will be done very quickly. read more

Let me start this review by telling you what Past, Present and Future is not. It's not a pretentious place, it's not an overpriced toy store, it's not dimly lit, and you don't have to walk to the back of the store to actually find the comic book section. What Past, Present and Future is, It's a great  comic book store. You walk in and are greeted. The store has a welcome, warm and inviting feel to it. The comics selection is great. They're well stocked on both new releases and collected. The staff is knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help you. In fact they were able to help me track down a hard to find release that other stores in the area didn't carry. Score!   Past, Present and Future also carries a pretty neat selection of board games. They are open late, Which means I can stop there on my way home from work. What more to say? It's a clean, well lit place to get my geek on. read more
