recently had them service a Samsung dryer. It took a couple weeks to get an appointment, which is the new normal, I guess. The guy that came was a bit awkward and uncomfortable to be around and they did not have the parts needed to fix the dryer (the guy implied he normally would but that someone took them off his truck). Nearly 1 month later, they still hadn't been back to fix. I had checked in a couple times for an update and the guy that answers always seems bothered and says there's nothing they can do since they can only order from ONE place. so. I ordered the parts off Amazon, they came to replace and the guy was just as uncomfortable as the first time. this time he implied the parts may never have even been ordered. any ways, he got the dryer running but now it makes this God awful screeching. I do not want to call them back so will likely just have to buy a new dryer read more

OK! *Now* I can say something about service! We just discovered that the dryer we bought a few years ago has been collecting lint inside of itself -- in spite of the filter -- probably since the first time we used it. Truly horrifying, burn-the-house-down kind of stuff. And then a little searching discovered that the manufacturer -- Electrolux -- indeed settled a class-action lawsuit for just this reason more than a year *before* we bought this one. So, I was ready to buy a new one. I really don't want to burn down the house, no matter how dry that would make my clothes. I called Heydlauff's and talked to Andrea about it -- told her what had happened, because I just thought they should know -- and we talked about other brands. Well, she did a little research of her own after she got off the phone with me and called me back! She discovered that the manufacturer had created a new redesigned lint filter for my model, specifically because of this problem. And she had one in-house! I went right up there and got it, and I think it is indeed going to fix the problem. So -- I think Andrea just saved me the cost of a new dryer. I am very grateful for this help. My experience -- the manufacturers don't always do the right thing but Heydlauff's did. read more

I was looking for a fridge to fit a specific opening. The big box stores all said there is nothing out there that will fit. One quick call to Heydlauff's, and 3 days later I have the new fridge installed and the old one hauled away. The sales process was no pressure and no attempt to sell me an extended warranty. The delivery guys could not have been nicer or more polite. I am done with those big chains; from now on I will be calling Heydlauff's. read more

Good friendly local business to buy appliances from. I went to the other big Ann Arbor independent appliance dealer and the experience couldn't be more different. We spent close to $20k there four years ago, we were just a number there. The prices were comparable and in the end our salesperson were given some additional concessions from the factory. I didn't give five stars here because the installation was sloppy. Looks like a high school shop project. read more

I strongly encourage anyone to steer themselves away from Heydlauff's. They installed a new range oven, but didn't tighten the fittings properly, so there was a gas leak. Heydlauff's would not do anything about the gas leak, so we called an HVAC company to look at the gas leak and they determined it was due to faulty installation. After contacting Heydlauff's they refused to take responsibility for the gas leak that happened during installation, and would not pay for the service needed to repair the leak. And the microwave they sold us died 2 days after installation and rather than replacing, they are sending our a GE service tech in 4 days. Very poor customer service, especially after spending many thousands of dollars at their store. We will never go back. read more

The day after the death of a parent, the day before out of town family arrived, the dishwasher stopped working. The dishwasher I bought at a nearby competitor for some reason instead of buying at Heydlauff's like I usually do. Service dept call at store where I purchased went unreturned for over two hours. Called Heydlauff's and Otto, their phenomenal service expert, was there an hour later. I won't go elsewhere again. read more

So I needed a new drip pan for my oven after an unfortunate accident, and decided to replace all 4. Looked at some prices on-line, and then called Heydlauff's. They had the size I needed in stock, they were the same money as on-line (but less when you add in shipping), and I was able to pick them up the same day I called. Mark's pathological arrogance belies the quality of their products. We were extremely disappointed with his inability to deliver products in a timely manner after we took time out of our very busy schedules to visit their showroom to speak with his very friendly, yet misinformed sales staff. Quite disheartening. They're not the only higher-end appliance store in the area--my recommendation would be to avoid this store. read more

We were extremely pleased with our recent purchase of three new appliances,(,a new Speed Queen Washer, Dryer,, and new GE Microwave ). From the day of our purchase, to the installation day, and removal of our old appliances, they were very kind, professional, and helpful, to us.. We had not purchased Appliances in 19 years.. So it was a difficult process for us,, as Senior Citizens, but they made it much easier for us.,. We had been putting this off for quite a while, because so many things about getting new appliances we assumed would be so difficult,, but the team at this Family owned store, were remarkable.. I have been a Heydlauff's customer for ten years. Until recently I used them for repair and kept buying my appliances at big box stores. Those appliances would be covered by a crappy warranty that would take a month to get someone out to "fix" it and then it wouldn't even be fixed. I would be relieved when the warranty expired and I could call Heydlauff's again. Heydlauff's repairman is punctual, personable and knowledgeable. What's more is that he usually can get to me within 24 hours. That's service! Within the last year both my washer and dryer broke beyond repair. I called Heydlauff's and the salesman was able to figure out what I needed over the phone. I didn't even have to go in to the store, he took my credit card number and each time my new appliance was installed and working THE NEXT DAY. This is unheard of from the big box competitors. I'll never buy an appliance anywhere else again. read more

A Christmas disaster was avoided thanks to Otto and Steve. My Whirlpool oven's lower heating element died yesterday as I was preparing for a large group for Christmas Eve dinner. Heydlauff's was the only service available in the area. Suspecting what unit I needed replacing, I searched the web and called other dealers to see if anyone had it in stock - it was unavailable or back ordered everywhere. Otto discovered the same thing when he made calls from my home but Steve was able to find one and within an hour the new one was installed. ( I suspect he removed it from an stove in the warehouse). what did I buy: Asko dishwasher floor model. I've had the machine for a week and it works great, the price was fair, but here's why I give the experience a 3 star rating. (1) the floor model was not drained before delivery so old murky water was waiting for me with arms wide open (c'mon guys, presentation matters). (2) the installer (that costs $200) brought the unit into my house during a heavy rainfall and did NOT cover the unit at all; thus the unit was soaked with rain water right out of the gate. My wife had to wipe it down as the installer did not feel it was necessary to do it himself. Along with the unit being soaked, so were all the manuals and registration information that came with it; very unprofessional. (3) We purchased an additional 3 years of warranty (through Heydlauff) beyond the standard 2 year warranty from Asko for $150. I just found out that Asko will give an additional year of warranty for registering the product. When I called Heydlauff and explained that the three additional years of warranty that I purchased from them should now begin after the initial three years coverage by Asko, they said 'no, now your $150 warranty purchase covers 2 additional years instead of 3'. At the very least, I expected them to reduce the price of the warranty by 1/3 since they were providing 1/3 less coverage, but no such luck. Like I said, the dishwasher works great but the rest of the experience not so much. read more
