I think it's worth the occasional treat. The mango grapefruit boom is what I got this time: it's sweet from the blended mango and has good chunks in there, real grapefruit on top, I enjoy the occasional sour burst, and sago and jelly at the bottom. I actually went to their Richmond location this time on a Wednesday evening before dinner time. Found parking out front easily, normally the plaza is packed. This was a favorite of ours since we first tried their teas in Singapore. Only natural or fresh ingredients were used. This location in Burnaby was located inside the Crystal Mall. It took us longer to park than it was to order and get our teas. We got our drinks to go. Passion Fruit Mango Blast was yummy with nice slushy consistency and distinct fruity flavors. This has been our go to drink now across four countries! On the pricy end, but honestly all bubble tea/fruit teas are quite expensive these days so you might as well get some real fruit. I recommend half sweet for all the drinks, and I got regular ice because they were sort of like slushies. **Mango Grapefruit Sago ($8.99): I really liked the generous amounts of sago and grapefruit chunks! Nice creamy texture, good mixture of all the toppings (you won't run out of sago before you're done with the drink). This is my second time getting it, probably my fave drink here. Very Mulberry Heytea ($8.99): This was recommended as a highly popular item, but I'm personally not a fan. It's a dark purple colour, tastes just like grape to me. I don't really like grape generally. Nice slush texture, similar to the mango one. Pure Regal Aqua Green Jasmine Tea ($4.99): Just a regular ol' jasmine tea. Super light and refreshing for a palate cleanser. No where to sit! Take-out only. You can walk around Crystal Mall or go up to the food court. I get the hype now!! Hey tea was soooo delicious! Got the Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea (50 sugar, 50 ice $8.99) and the Coconut Mango Boom Tea (50 sugar, 50 ice $7.99) and they were both SO good! I've heard this bubble tea shop recently opened and that it's quite popular in China, so I was excited to try a drink. I went on a Saturday ~1pm with around a 10 person lineup. Surprisingly, the line moved very quickly and I was able to order within 10 minutes. They operated as only takeout with no seating available. They advertise using real milk, real fruit, real tea and real natural cane sugar, and I opted to try a drink that I am very familiar with to assess the quality. I ordered the bobo light milk tea, 30% sugar, and less ice; it was described to me from staff that it's the brown sugar bobo milk tea minus the extra brown sugar. Overall the drink was very good, although I wasn't blown away by the flavours and quality. I was expecting the tea to be weaker due to the addition of real milk instead of typical creamer however the tea was quite strong. The tapioca was typical; soft, chewy and not too sweet. The price was also more expensive (drinks ~$8.50 range) than most bubble tea shops however I will return to try their top sellers. read more

HEYTEA is bright and in your face , and the newly opened hype , you bet you'll see a crowd and tons of passer byers rocking their cups. I must say the team was pretty organized for being open just two weeks - there was little confusion as the large screens clearly showed you where to await your orders , and where to place them. HEYTEA is all about fresh and natural ingredients. - They use fresh Oolong tea leaves imported from Taiwan - and cheese from New Zealand. They use fresh milk and fruits - none of that powder stuff. HEATEA doesn't believe in fake artificial sugar - they use sugar from Sugar Cane! The signature drinks are on the pricier side - $8.99 & 9.99 - however you need to think about cost of goods - and how the ingredients are all natural - so I would say it's pretty fair. I had the Very Green Grape Crystal - and I fell in love. I wanted a second cup right after the first - but I was already home - so that didn't happen. Flavours were muted, and really felt like you're paying for their decor and nothing more. Service at the counter was fine. They put your order number on a screen and you can see when your order is ready. Kind of like waiting at ICBC... There is no shortage of tea shops around. Several in this mall alone. Drinks are good, but not as good as those in China; the grapes they put in the drink are fewer. It remains the only choice in the Vancouver area if you're seeking genuine sugar fruit/milk tea. The service is bad! If there were another choice for real milk tea, I wouldn't go there because of the attitude. The first time I went, it was a pretty good experience with the same standard service as in China--smile greetings and help with packing the drinks. However, after that, there was no service at all--no greetings, no packing, no thank you. You can order online, but there's usually no need to order ahead; there isn't much wait time.
