While I was here in Canada I had to come here. This is the second one so far and it is very delicious Boba and beat the one in Bellevue. They used fresh fruits! There are cases upon cases of fruits along side the wall and in display. Service is professional and super fast. Ambience was positive, clean lots of people buying boba. One of the latest Taiwanese bubble tea chains to break into the local market. Got a chance to see what this was all about. There was a lineup out the door. Parking is available in the strip mall lot. Inside is nice and modern. Place is new after all. The ordering system is electronic only. I don't think they take cash. The latest craze is all about the fresh fruit, and this place has quite the selection. Specialty seems to be mango and strawberry. I had the King of mango drink, and it was quite tasty. I'd tried the King of Mango Smoothie from the Richmond location of Macu Tea. This was my first time trying it from the Burnaby location. Last time we had King of Mango Smoothies, my dear husband had lined up at the one in Richmond and brought them home for us to try. Including the time he spent lining up, and the time he spent waiting for the drink to be made after he finally ordered it...he said it was about 45 minutes wait altogether. I was pleasantly surprised to find that our waiting time at this location wasn't nearly as bad. There was still a lineup, but including the time in the lineup and the time we spent waiting for our order to be made, it was about 20 minutes altogether. So...not nearly as bad as what he went through in Richmond! Love, love, love their King of Mango Smoothie! No surprise that it's their Number 1 drink. I saw someone else write that the ordering system is electronic only and that they didn't think that they accepted cash at this place. I brought my friend to Macu Tea to show her what their drinks are all about. I thought the queue would be shorter than the Robson location since Robson location tends to get quite busy. Boy, I was wrong! We had to wait in line as there were about 10 people in the store. Wait time wasn't bad since we went on a weekday. We ordered Bobo Strawberry ($7.95) and Chi Chi Strawberry ($7.95). Chi Chi strawberry came with cheese foam whereas Bo Bo Strawberry contained bobo and green tea jelly. Drinks were good. I can taste actual fruits in my drink instead of syrups. Because I had King of Mango on Robson already, I personally liked mango one more than strawberry. This is my new favorite beverage shop in Vancouver now. Their signature mango drinks are amazing. So far I have tried their D01, D02, and D03 multiple times. Of the three, Chi-Chi Mango Smoothie wins for me because that cream foam is absolutely delightful. At a different location, I have also tried D04, which is the Chi-Chi Strawberry Smoothie. This was not as good as the mango, but still excellent. They call this series Drinking Dessert and I can see why. After the end of a great meal, I rather drink these beverages than eat most other desserts. So refreshingly good. There are often lines, but it moves relatively quick. read more

Decided to try Macu Tea after my sister mentioned it was popular and had good reviews. There was a line out the door when we arrived and for good reason. Even with the line, it moved quickly. They use a machine to take orders so it's quick and efficient. We waited about 10 minutes for our drinks. Staff is really efficient. The shop is small but has a few two seater tables if you want to sit for a bit. It's clean and bright. It looks like the shop is known for their fruit teas and have seasonal flavours. Right now is the Kyoho grape smoothies so we got both the chi-chi grape smoothie (cheese foam on top) and the bo-bo grape smoothie (agar bubbles). We also grabbed a chi-chi strawberry smoothie (cheese foam on top). Drinks were fresh and just the perfect amount of sweetness and smoothness. All 3 were delicious. I tried the King of Mango smoothie and my partner got the Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea and added the green tea jelly. Macu Tea is my favourite bubble tea spot now! Yifang being the predecessor. The King of Mango smoothie is so good and worth the price. The mangoes they use are fresh and extremely ripe. It's icy like a slushie, flavourful and sweet from the fresh mangoes, and the green tea jelly is phenomenal. The steep in the jelly is perfect and it complements the drink so well. The ratio of coconut milk is also perfection and doesn't overpower the mango. It tastes like you're drinking a mango. The oolong milk tea also has to be one of the best milk teas from a bubble tea spot I've had! The steep is strong! Perfect ratio of milk. The green tea jelly didn't go too well with this drink as the oolong overpowered the green tea though. I think it would be perfect with pearls instead! It's very crowded in this shop. There are some seats but most people use it to sit while waiting for their drink. The lineup tends to be long. I went twice an hour before closing and the lineup still took 30 minutes or more each. Tried this place because of a friend's recommendation. I was genuinely impressed by the rows upon rows of mangos and strawberries on display around the store. I got the king of mango smoothie. So excited to finally have Macu Tea in Burnaby! When we came, we actually didn't know they were already open as I think it was a soft open and all their employees were getting trained. Despite it being early days, everything was quite efficient considering. We got the King of Mango smoothie and the Sunshjne Li Li tea. With my standard customizations - neither was too sweet and thought they were both quite delicious. Definitely one of the top choices for bubble trays offerings in the Metrotown area. Its always busy, but things move pretty quickly. Their teas are good. At the store, there was a steady stream of fresh fruit deliveries, which was a great sign. The King of Mango smoothie was refreshing and absolutely delicious. Really well-balanced, fresh, and not too sweet. I liked Macu Tea so much that I returned the next day to order the Chi-Chi Mango smoothie, as well as another King of Mango smoothie. Welcome Macu to Burnaby!! Love that they finally opened one in Burnaby, and such a fantastic location too!! There are tons of parking in the lot of the Save-On-Foods! And on top of that, it is so close to me and my friends too! I came on the Friday night, the soft opening before their grand opening on Saturday. And the staff was extremely nice and they were all there to be trained at the same time. Love that they are learning their system and how to make their drinks as efficiently as possible. This store has a person to order your drinks for you, so there is no touch pad ordering system this time, but as long they get the drink right, that is important.
