They do not care about you. Know what you're setting yourself up for…read more There seems to be a patient "culling" happening, as I've read multiple reviews of similar circumstance, as well as discriminatory practices happening with some pregnant patients. I am one they cut loose. I decided they don't deserve my silence. As every other negative review says, the office staff is rude and despondent. I called in August to set my annual well exam, and was told they had nothing available until December. 4 months!?When I check in, I'm called to the desk and rushed through some digital release forms to sign. One of which was the use of recording software the doctors now use to record your conversations in the room. The language was very vague- so I questioned if it involved AI. She confirmed it does. I declined the release. (AI software in medical practices, ESPECIALLY women's health should concern everyone, given the political climate and this country's squishy feelings on women's right to bodily autonomy.) Then, a woman escorted me to a room where she reviewed health history, asked me again about the AI tool, (declined again), and before she left, asked "Is there anything you wish to address with the doctor?" This is important, because it's a set up to change your "well exam" appointment to "concern" appointment. It's coded differently, and billed at a higher rate, so I later find out. I said yes, and disclosed my topic of discussion. 20+ minutes later, Doc rushed in, and I talk to her about a common topic I had been reading about my current lifestage as she was doing my exam. I wasn't asking for diagnosis- there was no special test or exam required, simply questioning route of treatment would be better suited for me in this milestone. We had a good, albeit rushed conversation... and after 4 years of trying to figure this out on my own, I finally felt validated and relief that I might start feeling more like myself again. On my way out, the lady at the desk was annoyed that I interrupted her conversation to check the pharmacy she had on file for me. A month later I'm sent a bill for a co-pay. My insurance has no co-pays for annual exams, so I sent a question in the portal, asking if it was mistakenly coded wrong. I was told the "discussions addressed in my appointment fell outside the parameters of a well exam visit." I challenged them on this. I scheduled it as a well exam, 4 months ago. My questions were 100% normal for my age. You mean to tell me that once you're done having babies, you're not allowed to ask ANY questions outside of paps and mammograms without an additional paywall? This is ageist, predatory, and unethical. There's no disclosure about this caveat. When I said my next step was google and yelp reviews if it was not corrected, they brought the doc into the conversation. She repeated the same explanation and signed off with "I believe a positive patient-physician relationship must be built on mutual trust, open communication, and respect.... Since verbalizing your unhappiness with our billing and coding procedures, I feel you would be a better fit in a different practice. Therefore, I am dismissing you from our practice." Not fully disclosing the use of AI nor informing me of my intended question falling outside a well exam visit were both violations of trust and communication... but because I'm not submissive or mindlessly compliant, I'm not a "good fit." As I reflected these last few weeks, it has become very clear to me that in addition to their billing procedures, their priority seems to lie in turning over as many rooms as they can in a day and making diagnoses and treatment recommendations that are not necessarily in your best interest, but theirs. I have more stories that I now see as missed red flags... bottom line, they don't care about you, only your money and mindless compliance. The messaging in their billing correspondence says "thank you for your business" not "thank you for entrusting us with your care." Says a lot. Find a smaller practice.

I honestly have no idea why this place is recommended by anyone. I came here based on multiple…read morerecommendations, and from my very first appointment it has been consistently awful. The front desk staff were rude, and the office was completely inept when it came to my insurance. It took months to sort out VA Community Care--for no reason I can understand--because my VA care coordinator told me this office works with Community Care regularly. Yet somehow they couldn't figure it out, and their incompetence ended up costing me over $300 out of pocket. They also have zero respect for patients' time. They are consistently running late--not 15-20 minutes, but 45-60 minutes late. More than once, I left appointments and ended up over an hour late to work because they can't keep a schedule. The ultrasound experiences were borderline horrible and honestly traumatic. At my first ultrasound to confirm my pregnancy, I asked if I could have a picture. The tech responded with, "If there was anything there to take a picture of, I would give you a picture." Then I was left sitting in the waiting room for another 35 minutes, genuinely thinking something had happened to my baby. That is an unacceptable way to speak to a pregnant patient, and the way that moment was handled was cruel. The check-in process is also ridiculous. I was forced to fill out the same information over and over, and when I tried to note concerns during check-in so they could be addressed, they never were by the time I actually saw the doctor. My anatomy scan was the final straw. The office didn't know this, but it was scheduled on the one-year anniversary of my dad's death. This is my first son and he will be named for my dad, so that appointment was already emotionally heavy and deeply meaningful. I came with my husband and our two daughters because I couldn't get childcare. I was then told I couldn't have my support person because my children were with me. I have had four children, and I have never been told kids weren't allowed--my children have attended anatomy scans for their siblings with other OB practices. Instead of a compassionate, human moment, I was put in a room crying and alone in complete silence. It was devastating. I previously had an amazing OB experience with NorthShore Associates in Glenview and tried Midwest Center for Women's Health because I thought I could save myself the drive and gas money. That was a huge mistake. I am literally switching providers and moving my care halfway through my pregnancy because of this office. If you're truly looking for quality, competent, compassionate care--go to NorthShore Associates in Glenview. That's where I'm returning. The only positive thing I can say about Midwest Center for Women's Health is their phlebotomy team was excellent. Beyond that, you can do better, and you deserve better. I have absolutely no confidence in this office or this team

A friend of mine also went to get an ultrasound and we had a similar experience... we both wanted an abortion and at the end of the visit the nurse said a prayer for us which was weird because what if we weren't Christian? The nurse there wasn't very friendly she was very stern she didn't know that I also work in the medical field and when I shared some information she talked to me like if I was slow. she just wants to read her pamphlets and say her prayer and then when gave me these "helpful" pamphlets for support to be able to keep my baby... none of those places help you! I threw the whole paper away. All of this prolife information they give you and none of the places even respond when you want the help. In my opinion don't even tell them you want to abort because it's just awkward and not friendly in there. It's just a Christian nurse that wants you to bring a baby full term and doesn't care about what happens after.

Dr. Ravanam is an unprofessional doctor (if you could even call him that) and needs to have his license REVOKED. Well, I started typing the whole long story and went past the 5,000 characters allowed in the Yelp review. So, all I'm going to say is that this corrupt doctor is ONLY after money. I was prescribed Physical Therapy, and his office made me wait two weeks (after I made numerous phone calls to them, without them returning my calls, as promised) to get my script/referral so I can go to a QUALIFIED practitioner...and I had to do everything short of punching the man square in the face to get the friggin' thing. I need to mention this was for a bad automobile accident, and I am in pretty severe pain. But, that didn't matter to Dr. Ravanam. All he cared about was the money he would receive from my visits. Oh, and I don't want to forget the part that he asked me to change my answer to a question he asked, just so it would look better on the medical records for the insurance benefits. Talk about shady! And, yeah, I'm pretty sure that might be illegal! This doctor is a scumbag, and his entire office is as negligent as he is. I would not want my worst enemy to be within 50 feet of this man. For the love of God and all that is holy, STAY AWAY FROM THIS "DOCTOR" AND THIS FACILITY!!!
