She refused my friend service because he had an out-of-state ID so we simply drove across the street to the Castle Liquors which was much friendlier, cleaner by far, didn't reek of smoke and was actually willing to sell us alcohol (legally I might confirm). The really weird/funny part was as we were walking back to my car we noticed the woman from Sav-On came outside to watch us leave, then ran back inside when we spotted her. Yes, she bounded inside with the grace of a drunk baby deer, and I really could have watched her be super-crazy all day long, but sadly we had things to do.

The only big change is that they had the collection of Jack's specialty coffees, and that has come down from six to just for coffees with a breakfast blend, and a couple others. Their donuts are always fantastic and look great. The people behind the counter are always super friendly and the store is very welcoming even though it is in part of the strip mall. I'm glad they stayed open and are doing things their way with just a new name. Because it's always a great morning experience there. Always tons of conversation with the people behind the counter and great donuts. it's usually pretty crowded, there's always large groups of people just sitting, relaxing in this great atmosphere, typically older folks that seem to find the place very welcoming, as well as families coming in. But no, this place is actually called Friendly Package Liquors, and there's a small plaque by the door that tells you that information, in small letters. Friendly is located just down the street from Ball State University, so indeed, it really does have a connection to the campus. The people who work here are super friendly (thank goodness, because of the name of the store), and were ready and willing to help me find what I needed, even though I didn't need any help.
