She refused my friend service because he had an out-of-state ID so we simply drove across the street to the Castle Liquors which was much friendlier, cleaner by far, didn't reek of smoke and was actually willing to sell us alcohol (legally I might confirm). The really weird/funny part was as we were walking back to my car we noticed the woman from Sav-On came outside to watch us leave, then ran back inside when we spotted her. Yes, she bounded inside with the grace of a drunk baby deer, and I really could have watched her be super-crazy all day long, but sadly we had things to do.

It is really beautifully done and an incredible variety of liquor. It's become a really upscale liquor store. I found liquor there I haven't seen in any other liquor store. They have a variety of whiskey, rum, vodka and other liquor. If there is something that they don't have just let them know and they will make an effort to get it for you! Prices are sadly set by the state government so nothing to rate in that area. For a small store, the selection is pretty good, with some decent wine choices (plenty of them from our local winery) and lots of popular liquors and liqueurs. The attached drive-thru is for cold beer primarily - there are some soft drinks and chips as well as smokes (and chew), but the emphasis is firmly on alcohol. Don't drive through here looking for milk, in other words. You can purchase beer or wine in the drive thru but must come inside for liquor. You can certainly go inside to buy beer too. The guys that work here are very friendly and accommodating, cheerfully carrying your purchases to the car if need be, and in the drive through they'll put them in your trunk or back seat, however you prefer. The five star rating is primarily for service and I'm happy to give it. Nice long open hours, too.
