One week after " completing" the job, I had electrical failures upstairs. They came back corrected their mistake. Second week during a renovation project the builder discovered the old nob and tube wiring they said they removed was still intact and ACTIVE! Whitney came back out a second time and took care of the issue. Third week I went into the basement and discovered they had taken out all the light socket and electrical switches and didn't replace any of them. Five in total. In addition the " boss" adamantly said to take care of each of those three problems it would cost extra. Thank goodness I had a contract. emEnd if discussion. My son, had a very similar issue not knowing it was Whitney that I hired. Whitney sent out a plumber to fix a Clogged drain. My son used a plumbers snake and a few other things to remedy the problem clog to no avail. when the plumber from Whitney came, my son showed him where the clog was. There was no sense of being pushed or manipulated. From our research before the meetings we had a number of questions as to various options and they were all answered clearly and in as much detail as we needed. It was also clear that the company was committed to furthering the growth of solar in its own right, not just to further their sales, which matched our own values as well. In fact, there were some parts of their service (such as monitoring the system) which were included at no additional charge while other companies were going to charge a fee. Once we committed to their proposal for a ground-mounted array, which was our preference as well, things went very smoothly. They gave us a clear overview of how the process would go and someone was always available whenever we had questions. We have dealt with several different people over time and not one has been less than completely helpful and invariably friendly. Shortly before the first day of installation there was a problem getting the exact panels that had been quoted. Absolute Solar arranged substitute panels which were a slightly higher grade at no additional cost. We even got a little bump in productivity as a result! The installation itself went off without a hitch and on schedule (or if there was one then they just fixed it and we never knew about it). When the final approval came through from Consumers Energy we literally flipped a switch and we were in business. It has now been over a year and a half and the benefits have been very clear from the start. Our first three months bills decreased by a total of $400. Now,18 months later, we have not paid an electric bill in over a year and still have well over $300 in credit to get us through the rest of the winter to the more productive months when we can accumulate credit again. We will be converting our remaining gas appliances--particularly the stove--to electric over time for more savings and there even is enough of a "cushion" for an electric vehicle in the near future. We have been thrilled with our new situation and look forward to the continued benefits of going solar! We are equally certain that Absolute Solar will be there for us whenever we have a question or concern.

I notice that they close at 4pm so I quickly called at 3:59 and they answered the phone! The man told use they had the part and said he didn't mind waiting and asked how far away we are. We live 40 min from their shop in Charlotte. He told us we could call him because he lives 1 mile away from the shop and that he would be glad to come back so we can get the part we needed. We didn't want to inconvenience him, but really appreciated the above and beyond customer service since not having a blower for a wood stove on a 19 degree evening in December is a big deal! We ended up paying for the part online and asked if he would just leave it by the door for us to pick up. He agreed to our request, we got the part we needed and our wood boiler is now fix in the same night! We really appreciate Charlotte Electric Motors and what they helped us accomplish, our night could have been so much worse.

So I called again. This time he said he would rebuild it with spare parts he had laying around. Not keen on this idea as well as it being contradictory to what I was told the last time, I questioned this but he assured me it would be fine and that it would come with a 1 yr warranty. So I told him to go ahead with that. Again, several more weeks go by with no communication. I call yet again and was told they were waiting on me to tell them the size of the water connections on the pump. I told them that that nobody ever told me that to which the lady on the phone argued, saying they did. Despite having no reason to at this point given what had transpired thus far, I gave them the benefit of the doubt here. I gave them the dimensions and was told again it would be ready the next week. I gave it two with, again, no communication before finally going in and asked for my motor back which was in the exact state as I brought it in. I very politely explained all of this to the lady running the counter and was met with nothing but deflection and excuses about how they deal with industrial stuff as well which backs them up, etc. I said that makes sense but does not justify them telling me one thing and doing another, nor the complete lack of communication. She said, and I quote: "your hot tub pump is not important to anybody when there is industrial stuff to worry about, and we don't call people to provide them updates" (even when it takes months longer than what they were told). She never so much as offered any apology for the inconvenience. I said yes ma'am, this clearly is not the shop for me then and walked out with my pump. Even after dealing with all of this, I was nothing but polite and kind, and was met with a snotty attitude, and a complete lack of ownership over the situation by C.E.M. I'd never go back. This whole situation was unacceptable at every step. I don't do business with people of this character. And I would advise others to seek an alternative.
