My husband and I were very pleased with the work by Hickory Homes. The crew showed up when they said they would be here and carefully unloaded all the specimens. They planted eight Thuja Green Giants, two Kwanzan cherry trees, two apple trees and cleared out an area on our lawn that was full of horse nettle, poison ivy and weeds. Chris asked me to check where the trees were placed on the property before they planted to make sure they were in the sections we chose. Surprised at these reviews. Chris has helped me for the last few years (on a property in Pound Ridge with a lot of old trees) and they do a very nice job. Never had a quality issue. Professional. They're engaged (and maybe even a little excited to be there). They have ideas. They do more than just landscaping which I've found helpful. I do find they skew more expensive, but honestly that's been worth it for me thus far as my experience has been better than I've had elsewhere. So, I really like these guys. They're pros. read more

They delivered 10Yard topsoil for my lawn guy who is repairing front lawn. They did good job delivering on time but the quality of topsoil is not good at all, it looks like dirt and a lot of rocks which bothers seed to grow. There are 1000s of wood chips and pieces it looks disaster. I don't know other products from them but I will never buy topsoil from them again. Very bad, their topsoil is waste of money and now I see everywhere crabgrass growing. Very bad read more

Ordered a Cord of fire wood. It was complete garbage. The wood was soaking wet. Large pieces don't burn well due to dampness. Ordered a 12 lbs bag of kindling, I got 3 lbs. They said it was aged 6 months. It was cut down yesterday. Can't have a warm fireplace with wet wood. Stay away! read more

One tall tree with the stump and some big branches overhanging the property were removed. The service was excellent. Professional and clean. All was done on Saturday to meet my schedule. Very pleased. Will definitely use Hickory Homes and Properties again. read more

We hired Hickory Homes and Properties to prune are tree on 8/27/16. They said it would cost $1,400 and it would take all day. They were here for just over 3hrs and did not do a good job. The day after I call and said you did not cut some of the lower branches and can you come back they said "sure" SO FAR THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED. Now that the leaves are come down I can see a lot of dead branches they missed. I would not recommended Gil and Hickory Homes and Properties....Even one star is too much! read more
