My daughter attended this camp in 2019 for 7 weeks. She was still a beginner rider, but wanted structured lessons and grooming time, not simply "playing" with campers four to five years her junior. We were told that older kids did attend the camp and that all of my issues with previous horse camps would not occur at Greylyn. Quickly we learned that this camp is geared for 5-10 year olds and many of the counselors-in-training were 11 years old or younger. After a few weeks at Greylyn, my daughter was invited to Florida for a week. We had already paid for the 7 weeks in full at the start of the summer. I told my daughter that if we could get a week's refund from Greylyn she could go to Florida. If we couldn't get a refund, then she was to stay at Greylyn. Rachel was so understanding and said that "of course" we could get a refund for the week. We were thrilled- so accommodating was Greylyn farms! Since then, we have called numerous times, written several letters, and have never received any correspondence or a refund check. I would never recommend this camp. There was very little structure to the day. Campers sat around. During busy weeks, there were days that my child did not ride at all. When parents complained, their child was able to ride several times a day. I can not give any stars to this establishment. At the end of the summer, Rachel inquired to my daughter whether she would want to take riding lessons during the fall. No- not ever. My only positive comment was that she was never hurt during the time there.
