I come here for gifts maybe twice a year, and I wish I could be here more often. Mulberry and Lime (M-L) is a great store in an historic family home on Limestone Street in downtown Lexington. What I like about the store is both the display and the quality of the goods. No mass-produced, made in China disposable crap here. The emphas is on quality linens, writing paper, gifts, and china, and artwork M-L has a wedding registry, carries antiques, and there is a great selection of local art. This is a great place to get a gift for a female friend, a wife, a mother, a daughter, but there is cool stuff for men here, too. The owner is preservation-minded which makes me like her all the more, and the gift wrap is unique. You'll have no problem finding the store next to the Sayre School. There are always textiles hanging from the line in front to signal that M-L is open. This is the kind of store Lexington deserves. If only M-L had a small place to eat or have a drink, I think more people would come to this Lexington gem. I like the Moe's bowtie selections, and now there is some great art from Lexington artist Tuska. The giftwarap is always great. Hats off to this locally owned business.

I walked in and was amazed at the huge selection of loose tea available for purchase. White, black, green, caffeinated, unique flavors, you name it and there is something for you here! The owner was so kind as he explained to me a bit about what they carry and invited me to smell the wonderful aromas of the tea by opening the jars and discovering the scents. (This is very sanitary, as the jars are covered allowing you to smell without compromising/contaminating the product). In addition to an array of teas, there is also a merchandise and wide variety of spices. There is metered parking directly outside the storefront. Supporting local businesses brings me so much joy and I will be back.

The owner, pardon me for forgetting his name, was so knowledgeable and told me about all the different kinds of tea he had, and even showed me tea that strongly resembles the taste and smell of coffee (so I can get my dad to switch haha). They also have a rewards program that you don't have to sign up for, it's just a little index card that they punch and you can get free tea! Overall, such a lovely place to go. They had everything in this gift shop from University of KY shirts, stuffies, to KY shirts, to snacks, and toys. I found a small portion of the store that had several different horses for purchase. After looking them over, I went with a brown and white horse. Was it over priced? Yes, $15 for a stuffed animals seems a bit pricey, but I'm also at their whim after waiting until the day I left to grab my kiddo something. Checkout was a breeze, the woman who rang my purchase up was lovely.

I went here specifically on Valentine's Day with a buddy looking for specific flowers for 2 important ladies in his life. The shop was crowded. There was flowers all over the place. They also sold vases and decor. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They allowed my buddy to go in the back room and showed him how to pick specific roses and flowers and what he needed to look for. This was really impressive to me. It took us a while to get checked out, but they put his order together while we waited and they filled 8 or 9 orders at the same time. These ladies here know their stuff.
