There are so many old reviews... I can honestly say I have noticed a big difference in the upkeep of the neighborhood, the staff, and the overall feel opf the community as a whole. DONT MOVE HERE!!!! Theres a new property manager every few months. They never know what they're doing and it's like the requirement for the job is to be rude because they all are. I moved out after I had a cockroach infestation, and found black mold in the bathroom. Complained about both, no one ever came. They told me to clean up better. WHO SAYS THAT!!! I also complained about the random fees on my rent each month. I had to keep asking them to be removed, always a hassel. They anlways had excuses but I wouldnt hear it. Other tenants don't notice or argue the fees so I'm sure they just see what they can get away with. I paid 1800 for a 2 bedroom, After a year it went to 2400!!!! I couldn't leave just then but that's when I started looking for a new apartment. The sewage can be smelled from your apartment, it's so bad. The garbage is always overflowing. The pool was green for the last month of the summer! Couldn't use it but we're still charged for it. They fine you if your garbage bag, for pick up, is over 25 pounds or if it falls on the floor. I kept getting $25 dollar fees. When I'd try to dispute them I was told I can just take my own trash but ill still be charged the $15 trash vallet fee. Also they're supposed to pickup Sunday-Thursday before 8, they come when they feel like it. But we still get charged regardless. The gym is a joke. They bought new expensive tvs but all the equipment is broken. They also bought new chairs and umbrellas for the pool, so many now that it just looks overcrowded and ridiculous. Maintenance won't show up for anything they consider not worth it. So many of us just do our own repairs. What was I paying for??? So glad I left this place. Probably too high. From the beginning of my stay there were problems. Stove was in poor condition. Had to have the maintenance people put a new label on the stove. Secondly, the burners were not flat or stable, therefore could never get anything cooked properly cooked. Patio was a filthy mess. Lights in entrance were broken. Wait until you move in and the roaches and water bugs become you constant roomates. Never a day went by without several dead and alive were in you space. Saw a maintenance person once who fumigated the apartment. Hot water heater was broken at least 5 times. This past January it failed again and the maintenance person showed me how to press a red button ( received a terrible shock ). This continued up until I moved. Lastly the bathtub was filthy and peeling. Quite unsightly. They attempted to deglaze it twice to no avail. It needed a professional to do the work. They have NO IDEA what they are doing! My daughter applied on October 7th. I went to look a that the apartment on October 9th. The apartment, porch were dirty and lights in the kitchen were not working. Not cleaned, knowing someone was coming to look at it? My daughter liked the apartment so I just let it slide. While talking with Sara that day in the office, move in was set for Oct 14th. The apartment was $1595 instead of the usual rent because the apartment had been sitting for 8 months as Sara stated. Sara said they would fix the lights and clean the apartment and porch prior to move in day. Even though the fees are crazy. $25 a month for a parking spot, yet not guaranteed, $20 cleaning fee a month for the gym, pool etc. , $60 initial fee for the gym, not to mention the water deposit to the apartment of $150; account set up fee of $50; another $5.50 monthly for something; $150 a month for water, trash, pest control. I really thought the fees were excessive but my daughter liked the apartment so again, I let it slide. Now comes Monday October 13th (day prior to move in) Still have not received the lease or welcome letter with the amount needed to move in so we could get the cashier's check. My daughter called Sara, asked about the lease and reminded her that she was due to move in the next day and also had to work so we needed to get the lease to review and go get the check. At 5:38pm we finally received the lease. After reviewing about 25 of the 100 page lease through an ap where we had to initial each page before you can continue, it got late. October 14th (move in day) I called Sara and asked if she could send me a PDF of the lease so i could review it prior to my daughter signing. Sara stated the lights were on back order and they would get them put in as soon as they get them. If you have an apartment without working lights that you are trying to rent, why would you NOT order the bulbs you need?? We also went over the monies required to move in and I that is when I found out about the $150 water deposit. Yes, i am sure it was in the welcome letter (that we still had not received). Sara stated she would email me the lease. As she was trying to pull up the lease to send to me that is when she noticed the lease was incorrect. She stated she would have to update it and send it over. When I asked Sara how much exactly my daughter needed to move in she said it is in the welcome letter. That's when I again said, we have not received the welcome letter. By this time, I have had enough. Here we are on Move in day and the apartment was not ready, we had not been given the correct lease to review or the welcome letter to tell us exactly what was needed to move in. We did find out at the last minute, (again because we had no welcome letter with information in it) we find out she needs renters insurance before she can move in. Why was this not stated before?? I talked to my daughter and explained to her that if things are this bad now, it's not going to get any better when you move in. She decided to just wait till November 1st. This would give them time to fix the things in the apartment, send over the CORRECT lease for us to review and secure our own renters insurance. My daughter sent Sara and email stating that. Sara replied, trying to bully my daughter into signing the lease. Saying the rent might go up and that apartment may not be available. The same one that has been sitting for 8 months. Sara even stated she has a hard time renting it because it is so expensive. We were trying to be nice and just push back the move in date, but after the email, stating the apartment that had been sitting for 8 months would now possibly not be available and not for the same amount, the decision was made that Greenbrier was too unprofessional, unorganized and not trustworthy. Upon telling Sara the reason for backing out, she refused to refund the deposit. The employee not doing their job in a timely manner is the reason we backed out and I expect a refund!! read more

THIS IS THE WORST PLACE EVER! 1 STAR IS TOO MUCH! The rental office never answers their phones. They are never available to their tenants. The grounds are filthy. There is trash and dog feces EVERYWHERE! The outdoor equiptment, i.e. park benches, picnic tables, security lighting, etc. are in horrendous condition. DON'T DO IT! Way over-priced. "Luxury" apartment living is a joke. Valet trash pick-up (which is required fee) is not reliable. The central trash compactor is either full or broken 75% of the time. A dumpster is available at times, but not always. Piles of trash, furniture, household item stack up around the compactor. There are always new or changing fees. Communication is impossible with office staff. Calls are not returned, portal messages are ignored - you have to physically go to the office to speak to a human being. Tenants are trashy. Don't clean up their dog's poop, don't keep dogs on a leash, leave fast food trash in the parking lot. It's disgusting. I won't invite anyone over because I'm embarrassed to live in such a shitty place. The corporate office is in California and you can't get in touch with anyone there either. Incorrect phone numbers and emails are given. I can't believe this place continues to operate. They are basically lying thieves. read more

The worse place I've ever lived at. We love the greenbrier area but this complex and management is HORRIBLE!!! Bugs on top of bugs! Stuff is rusted and just a mess! For the price you pay in rent isn't worth it at all!!! Really not worth it!! When we moved out I cleaned the place! They tried to hit us with a bunch of random ass fees and a fee for $221 for utility billing! Like we didn't pay anything utility through y'all at all so what is this charge?! Don't walk, run.... AWAY!!!!!! This place is SO disorganized and it ultimately will scam you of your money!!! I came from another state and was really impressed by the amenities and finishes just to be let down. They sent us to collections only 5 days after moving out which we had to pay since we didn't want our credit to be impacted. They NEVER sent us a refund for our deposit. However, we had to pay for the damages (normal wear and tear of living in a home) out of pocket instead of them pulling from the deposit that they still had. We paid deposit before move in, we moved out. Never received back the deposit. Had to pay $600 EXTRA for damages to collections which should have been taken out of the deposit and then never received the remainder of the money in the deposit. THIS IS YOUR WARNING: DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU CAN HELP IT! I have worked in property management for 7 years and I could not believe how bad this company is to their residents. Work orders were never completed correctly. The customer service is TRASH. I couldn't even believe it. I called asking for maintenance to salt the stairs and walkways during the storm last year. Didn't happen. I fell the following weekend and left another voicemail. No one ever called back to check in. Their staff turnover is crazy. It was a new face every time I came down to the leasing office every month to drop off rent. They couldn't even keep their employees working so they were always low staff which then punished the residents with terrible customer service and no working amenities. The theater, Closed. The pool, closed 10 months out of the year. The sauna??? Never even saw it. The gym was open which was nice but that was basically it. Pretty expensive gym membership if you ask me. Calls were unanswered and never returned. Every neighbor I had ever spoken to said they hated it. This company can't keep residents living here for more then a year. That says something!!! You do not want to live somewhere that has a huge turnover and no renewals. Again, I know this industry pretty darn well and I would never write a review unless I felt I needed to warn innocent people. Their disorganized office will cost you your money!!!! If I could give this place negative stars I would. I moved in and out of my apartment in less than 10 hrs. First thing, you have to put a parking sticker on your vehicle but there is not assigned parking. I walked into my apartment after a long drive and was highly disappointed. The floors were not swept or mopped, bedroom door had a hole from the stopper, trash was left in the closet, water damage that was patched over by poor maintenance, wood on side of dishwasher broken, multiple lights out, ceiling fan pulleys were literal string, dirty spots on walls, upper walls looked like there was mold there formerly, and the best was a patch in the closet that looked like someone spilled bleach and cut a square. The cut piece of carpet was not even secured to the floor. They didn't even vacuum the closet or the bedroom all the way. Do not live here, they spend more money on the clubhouse than the apartments. There is trash and dog poop all around the grounds, you pay for trash but the dumpster is always full. Even the floor was coming up. The apartment was not move in ready and you could tell that they did not walk nor get this cleaned beforehand. Unacceptable! read more

This will be my last update. The apartment complex is a renovated site with lots of room for improvement when regarded with the cost versus the product. To begin with, the exterior of each building is slowly loosing its ground with mold and moss. There is an excess of cars versus available parking spaces and the noise variable can range from hearing your above neighbor vacuuming to your next door neighbor using the toilet. Do not live near or within site of the trash area. Very rarely do residents throw trash away, but rather pile it in front of the compactor which can remain for days and turn from a few random bags to well beyond a mound or mountain. The management on site has been replaced almost as often as the site itself has been sold. This has caused issues in regard to maintaining or correcting issues; personally we have requested, since move in, that the kitchen tile be fixed or corrected. For three years, we have had personel tell us that particular items are on order, and then the ticket is cleared out but the repair failed to be corrected. Mgmt also is unaware of associate performance; during our lease renewal with an associate, we concluded with a very minor increase (the site will attempt to increase your rent every renewal by upwards to $100 or more to compete with "market" value,) after which we were told to await for approval and a call. Neither came, and when we approached the mgmt about our renewal were told we would be charged a fee due to late renewal etc. Turns out, the associate was fired and her paperwork was "lost," so it was on us to fix that issue. I do not recommend moving into this complex. I lived there from April 21 to April 22. I had a window that leaked and they had someone come out and look at it but it was never fixed. I had to move all furniture away from it every time it rained. Do I need to mention the amount of cockroaches that infest this place? Nightly! No matter how clean you are they will come in and and climb your walls. They are huge! It traumatized me enoughthat even in my new built home I think I see them from the corner of my eye and of course they are not there. The worse part of all this is I never received my deposit back. I had a $400 deposit, plus TWO $50 utility deposits to total $500 I should have received back. I called the office who in turn said I had to call the main rental property. I left numerous phone messages with detailed call back information and email many times....with NO RESPONSE! read more

If I could give zero stars. I'm up at 3 a.m. writing this review because I just woke up to a roach crawling on my neck and in the midst of this pandemic, I got time. I've lived in many apartments over the years and this is the worse. I'm practically OCD when it comes to clean, so roaches? And on my body? Never in my life. I feel like I need a free months rent to compensate. Also, beware that when it rains, be prepared for roaches everywhere (or water bugs as some may call them.) It's so bad that when we go to sleep, we have to shut the drains in all the sinks and tubs. The charge you to have pest control come out and spray but it does nothing. Hmm, what's next? Roof leaks. We moved in in the Spring and after one consistent week of raining, we starting getting water lines in the ceiling. The ceiling right outside of our front door completely caved in. They patched it up with spackling and repainted it. The roof in the entire complex is completely shot. Like someone previously said, shingles all over the parking lot after a storm. The maintenance guys put them in the trash and keep it moving. Trash. The trash compactor breaks and there are literally piles of trash as high as the compactor. I've had to put my trash in my vehicle and drive it to a local dumpster because I didn't feel comfortable adding to the landfill that was building up in the parking lot. Overall condition: Run thee F down. Upon move-in, our apartment was turned over to us like someone had literally just packed up and moved out an hour prior. Hair and dust all in the baseboards, carpet was disgusting (it stunk, nails sticking out from underneath), and the shower in master bath was broken. We were in such time constraints (pack outs, deployment, etc) that we just had to accept and go. Our stay would be short so I just decided to suck it up. (And here I am after waking up to a roach on my neck). Gym. About the only good thing about this place. It's decent. They don't maintain it like everything else but the residents do. Laundry facility. I've never used it and I won't. I've walked in a few times and it wasn't to my liking. There was lint all over the floor. Just super unkempt. Like everything else, nothing is maintained. We already have critters so I'm good on brining in any more. Pool. Haven't used it. Won't. Parking. Decent. Never had an issue. Mail. The mailboxes are rundown. Some don't close all the way or the locks are broken. There are Spider webs and things all over. I have to check the area before approaching. I'm not being dramatic. If you could move anywhere else, please do. I've taken photos over time that I'll upload here. I also plan to send them to the company that owns this property. Worst place we've ever rented. Filthy carpets that were supposed to be new when we moved in, and aren't. They've yet to be replaced even after complaints. Poorly painted walls. No insulation at all! Actual drafts of cold air near any window or door. When I complained about the drafts and cold air maintenance actually told me I probably forgot to latch the window. Yes. I'm that stupid that I would open a window in winter and not close it Mold growing by the sliding door, and in every bedroom window because of condensation from poor insulation and installation. This mold also spread to my cedar chest upholstery because I didn't realize it was growing in the master bedroom window too. (As an update maintenance brought paper towels and clr to clean the mold. Which cleans it off the surface, but doesn't kill it! When I mentioned this he told me he could tell by looking at it that it's not dangerous mold. He's going to have a contractor come insulate the windows and doors better, but apparently the remediation they do for mold is a paper towel and ineffective cleaner) it's also now been 5 weeks and nothing has been done further to fix this. Molding missing around parts of the ceiling, cheap appliances, bad caulking in bathrooms. NO LIGHT FIXTURES except in kitchen and bathrooms! You must provide your own fixtures, which we were not told about prior to move in. The carpet is dirty and thin enough that the tack strips stab your feet when you step on them. Lease specifically states we'll be charged for light bulbs and batteries that aren't replaced when we move out, yet we moved in with no bulbs and dead beeping smoke alarm batteries. Management is disorganized, maintenance is lazy and half ass things. The mail person responsible for delivery never leaves a package notice in your box, and if a package is left at the office and unclaimed in 3 days they send it back. I have to go into the office every day to check just in case something shows up I'm not expecting because I don't want it sent back. This whole place is cheap cheap cheaply put together with low quality everything. Not worth the price they charge. I can't wait till we can move out. The dumpsters on site are always overflowing and the tenants just toss bags outside the dumpster and rarely in it, which is unsightly, lazy, and unsanitary. ALOT of road noise. You can hear a lot of freeway noise even with windows and doors closed And let's talk about the fact that 3 weeks into our lease I woke up to roaches in the kitchen. And we also have brown moths hatching from somewhere and flying through the rooms randomly. Adding to this lengthy diatribe, the apartment above us needed extensive renovation after an eviction. The construction was loud and frustrating, but my favorite part was the maintenance workers throwing furniture off the third story balcony because they didn't want to carry it down the stairs. When I asked if they really thought that was safe and professional, he assured me he made sure no one was around and they always do that so it's fine. The office was no help when I mentioned it. During this construction the maintenance has, on 3 separate occasions, left tools/paint buckets/etc in the middle of the flight of stairs. Super unsafe and utterly irresponsible especially because two of the three times I was carrying groceries and an infant at the same time. And my most recent complaint(maintenance left the upstairs balcony storage door open over night and the wind slammed it over and over all night.) went ignored. I had to call the office 3 times and the girl(Heidi) kept interrupting me and in a hugely offensive tone told me they called someone to do it, but they weren't on campus yet so it would have to wait. Yet it took 14 hours to handle it so it kept waking us up all night and kept my baby up during her morning nap as well. Someone from the office wasn't even willing to walk 1 minute to the unit to unlock it and close that door. Utter nonsense going on here. You can't make this up. Update. Again. Moved out 2 months ago. 300$ bill for various fees and 'unpaid' utilities arrived. I have paperwork and receipts proving none of these final charges are valid because they're either erroneously trying to squeeze more money from us or they've already been paid and the company is hoping we wouldn't notice. So so dirty. Main office said she can't change anything and it must be done at corporate level. Called and left messages with corporate twice now and no response yet. read more

Loved here for a year and I can confidently say this place is the absolute worse. Where to begin... When we first moved in all of our utility bills had hundreds of extra dollars in "deposits". There were fees to get gym key fobs. The parking here is awful. You pay close to 2000 dollars a month for a two bedroom yet aren't guaranteed a parking spot. My roommate and I both got towed from here and forced to pay 175 dollars cash to the towing company. My car got towed for an expired state inspection. I am a Pennsylvania resident and am out of state for school so legally I don't need to get it inspected in VA. I alerted the office of this situation and they refused to alert the towing company. They said that I needed to contact the towing company directly. I called the towing company and explained the situation, but was told that I had to speak to the apartments office! A few days later my car got towed. This complex acts like they can't do anything about the company that they hired to patrol. Regardless, I was towed and forced to pay the ransom to get my car back. Every single month expect your bill for water and sewer to reach close to $300. I currently live in a duplex now and my water sewer bill only ever adds up to $50 a month. This place will add hidden fees left and right I guarantee you will pay at least $250 more for rent than you signed for. This is of course before other utilities such as wifi and power. Apart from the overcharging, the amenities here are awful. The gym is dilapidated, the pool is nice but is consistently closed. The garbage pickup is unreliable and the dumpster overflows with trash. The roaches are everywhere at night and even if you're clean they still come into your apartment. There is also zero security in place here. Directly in front of my apartment (in broad daylight) there was a drive by shooting and a child was kidnapped. There wasn't even any security cameras in the entire complex to identify the car. There's no security guard, and no gate. The money you pay for rent isn't invested into any of the amenities. When you get to the end of your lease, they will raise the prices an obscene amount. We were paying $1786 for a 900 sq. Ft. Two bedroom apartment. After the extra charges for sewer water and trash it typically was around $2090 per month. At the end of our lease we were offered to re-sign for another year at the excellent rate of 1980 dollars a month... before the extra utility charges. The turnover here is insane, they make it seem like they are in high demand, but there is a reason that they currently have 40+ empty units on Zillow. Finally, upon moving out, we were overcharged by $200 dollars for our last months rent. I contacted the office by phone and email multiple times. Even though I lived 50 yards away from the office you aren't allowed in except by appointment, and most of the time your phone calls are ignored and emails are not replied to. After paying the extra rent because I never heard back, the Hideaway added an extra utility charge to my account after we had moved out. Three months later I get a call from a collections agency alerting me that I had to pay it before it affected my credit. In conclusion this apartment complex is overpriced, dishonest, and unsafe. I would never move back here and would strongly recommend that you never move here. read more

Needed a short term lease while our home was being built. This place has lots of roaches everywhere. They'll spray inside but the exterminating company said they arent contracted to spray around the building so they'll get in anyways. We lived in the apartment for a few months, but got charged all these fees when we moved out (carpets, paint, etc). We ended up just paying it because dealing with the office management is more of a headache. Apartments are really nice and spacious and the location is great, but constantly dealing with issues of these apartments isn't worth it and will leave you wanting to break the lease ASAP. read more

I have been trying to get my deposit back since May even though I've out in March. They never sent me anything in writing about any damages or cleaning and by Virginia law they had 30 days to get that to me. Since they did not get that to me by Virginia law I am entitled to my full deposit returned. They had 45 days to do that and still failed to do that. Right now they are not obeying Virginia law to return my deposit. Currently getting a lawyer to help with this issue. With move in they do not require an inspection but I highly recommend you do one and email it to there email as documentation. After I turned in the key they did not notify me that an inspection had been completed nor did they allow me to be present for that inspection. Personal opinion is they are way over priced especially since they tried to raise my rent by 30%. I do not recommend living here. You can rent or buy a house for cheaper. read more

I filled out an application for an apartment there got denied no big deal right? OK they offer the refund. I'm waiting over nine months for a refund that's supposed to get to you in 90 days. Go there and even before going to emailing them several times and not getting any responses when you do get a response it's a whole bunch of running around and a whole bunch of bs. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Alright honestly I would give it negative stars if there was an option. This place looks nice but as others have said...once you sign the lease you are doomed. The stairs smell like piss, there are holes in the ceiling, the pool will probably give you a staph infection (a kid shit in it the other day and people have dirty sex in it while listening to early 2000s R&B). Why do you think the show home is on the first floor? I live above it and I'm pretty sure I'm paying the electric bill, they keep the lights on 24/7 (I have no idea why). Stay away from this place. The fees they charge are outragious. Renters insurance also required. 60 day vacate notice required. No Assigned parking spot- Unless you pay more $ each month. They have a tow truck company that drives through and will tow vehichels without stickers. I personally watched this. The tow truck would find a vehicle hook it up and then pull away around the corner a litttle furthur before hooking up and securing vehicle properlly. The water bill you pay is split between all 24 units in your unit. The air conditioner didn't work more than it did while living there. I paid higher their then I do in a 4 bedroom house. BEWARE! If other people have house guest over you are paying for them to use the water also. They only truly give great landscape to the front of the property. When the owners would schedule a property inspection everyone would run around doing a ton of work and also bring in companies to help. To get a response to fix anything in a timely matter is a joke. They would come to fix something not complete it and list it as done. The roofs need to be replaced on almost all the buildings. They leak!! Beware. Three buildings got done this past fall. Bugs- Even if you are clean. You pay for service but I only saw someone once while living there and that was due to requesting it. Be sure to request it in your apartment. The springler system does not work. It's been broken for a long time. Our ceiling fan in the unit was broken when we moved in and the light would flicker all the time and come loose. When they finally came to fix months later (yes months later) they said they do not replace fans and just put in a cheap light about 2 weeks later. The kitchen cabinets are peeling apart. counter tops coming apart. Nails on the decks are coming up and very dangerous with wood starting to rot. They cover mold up in the bathrooms by putting new caulk over the old caulk. Our tub was cracked in the bathroom. Would not fix. The tub water when ran would also run the shower while trying to fill the tub. They would not fix. Toilet over flowing could not get any response from the company and could not turn off shut off valve to toilet. They did not come or respond had to figure things out on our own. Then They came 2 days later to fix??!! Crazy! The garbage service is a joke. They only show up half the time. When you take your stuff to the garbage the compacter is broken a lot and garbage stacked everywhere. Gross. Corporate never returns phone calls! The pool in the summer 3/4 of the time was unusable and green. a health hazard for sure. If you get home late at night you may not find a parking spot. Plus people just throw trash out. The mailboxes are broken and a real filthy area. hanging wires from the ceiling. Trash and mail always all over. If amazon or another company or person sends a package that doesn't fit in your mailbox it will not be delivered and sent back to the post office for you to pick up, without any notice being left in your mail box. They do NOT deliver any packages to your door. Take a lot of pictures on move in and moveout as any evidence you have. They are always time and date stamped. I had to give at least 1 star to review, however i honestly cant give this place any stars!! My friend moved in October 17. She was unable to look at the unit she was moving into , as they stated that is was being remodeled. That was basically paint and carpet. Long story short, the unit that they showed her had a microwave over the stove and when she was able to move into her unit, NO MICROWAVE. 6 weeks later finally received an approval from HQ to add the microwave. Window latches wont latch for some reason and the amount of air in around the windows will move your hair in the breeze. 1/18 Blizzard Power out. (not something that management can help, I know) Power restored... No Heat. Management saying Maintenance is busy.,. blah blah blah... after numerous emails, Sub Contractor comes out fixes inside unit so that it will work but then proceeds to say that they must leave it on Emer. Heat until the site maintenance can repair something else. We know that heat pumps don't work well without Emer heat in below freezing temps.. but they have to leave it on Emer Heat until who knows when.... BIG BILLS. 1/14/18 Wake again to no heat... at least 2 emails and 2 phone calls later still no response.... To be continued. ..... read more

The apartments are beautiful and spacious, I absolutely love them. However, the leasing office staff constantly makes mistakes on our bill, are difficult to work with, and completely incompetent. They charged us a higher rent than what was agreed upon in our lease, fined us for not having insurance (they had a hard copy and electronic copy of our insurance), and would charge double on our water bill every now and then. Luckily we have always been able to get our money back from them after we speak to their corporate office. Awesome apartments good location, but dealing with their staff is a costly headache. read more

It looks amazing on the outside but once you sign that lease you better pray you don't go through hell like the rest of us. The staff including maintenance and property manager and leasing agents are rude and very ignorant when it comes to their own property. The mail boxes don't lock, the exterminators that we pay for monthly never do their job. The valet trash services that we pay for never pick up trash and/ or they drop trash all over the building hallways and don't pick it up. Their utility charges never seem to match up with the city's readings (hideaway charges more than what is actually owed). But mainly the management is the main issue. They only care that they rent to as many people as possible, and once you sign that dotted line you mean nothing to them. Update!! they are on their third "property manager" who would be better off being a cigarette representative, not a manager of any sort! She's more corned about her smoke breaks than she is about over charging people, they do not return ANY phone calls, they don't fix anything maintenance wise, they reprimand residents for their trash yet they never give a damn enough to fix the trash compactor. We were excited to know we could get in here at the Hideaway at Greenbrier Apartments. If we had spent an ounce more of time researching this place further or taken the time to do a thorough walk through, we would have never signed the lease. Even though the women at the front desk are pretty amazing, they don't really seem to know what's going on. The upkeep of this location is what truly ruins this place. From the ONE trash receptacle, which is always full, to the lack of every day maintenance of the property. It takes this location from a four star to a one. I think that the lanscaping concept is beyond comprehension for the management. It is highly overpriced and a trap for anyone looking to rent. This is definitely NOT a luxuray complex. People throw trash around the receptacle and not in it, and management does nothing about it. Take your time and look elsewhere. There is much better around the corner. The individual apartments are spacious and pleasant to see. The master and family bathrooms are nice and the tubs are nice sized. The Windows are cheap and leak air badly. The bedrooms are freezing from cold air coming in. If you like breathing clean air, remember to change your own air return filters. They provide the cheapest they can get and you have to change it yourself, so if the resident before you didn't, guess what you're breathing in. It's nice that they allow pets and it would be nicer if the trash bins for pets (provided in various locations), we're emptied. The dog park is directly placed with the play park and there is so much dog poop, it smells it up for the kids. The parking is reserved for leased residents (which must have a window sticker), which is a bonus. Too bad the slots are mostly taken by people who don't live here or aren't on the lease. Another rule not enforced. As a resident you will pay for the valet trash service. It's great when you have to walk a distance to get to the trash receptacle. Do not rent from this place, looks good on the outside, but this place is pretty nasty. I have been here since March, 2019 and have been putting in work orders, online and in person, and no one ever responds.I just get emails saying my ticket is closed, with no work being done. They never clean the stairs and porches. You regularly see roaches dead and alive on the stairwells and porches. The hall ways smell like garbage! Tenants just throw their trash bags outside the door without using a trash can, which attract bugs and ants. The apartments have roaches also, I put in a request 2 months ago to have the apt. sprayed, again no response. They rarely cut the grass. Its a lot of money for crappy facilities and no response from management. Oh and I have requested a mailbox key 3 times and I still don't have a mailbox. I moved from up the road less than 6 months ago!!! LITERALLY LESS THAN .5 miles If you want to move here and you talk to the front desk, be careful what they say.. they got me! Get everything in email, dont even bother talking to them because it's always something different. They lie or tell you what they think you Want to hear just to keep things going. Check the local news about this place as well maybe a week from now or so about their AC and how residents were in their freaking cars!!! with health issues!!!! Also a month ago someone had an emergency situation that occurred and the paramedics had to cut their window screen to enter, I called to let the emergency maintenance people know that night. I was told that I have to call the emergency number provided. I never got that, meanwhile I was trying to explain to the person on the phone of the facr this womens window screen was cut open and her window was open with zero security/ way to secure her items. Also, do not let them fool you with this laundromat they have here. All residents use it and your key fob is supposed to open it, FALSE AGAIN! since day 1 here every time I walk around morning and night that door is wide open, and squirrels have walked in there, rabbbits have walked in there and shit on the floor. But the maintenance sucks and the management sucks so why even bother. You have to provide your own, or rent from this third party company which I'm sure the complex gets something from as well because they try to get every last dollar from residents without the proof of it going to the complex There should be a negative star rating here.... if that was possible this complex would be that many PLUS! I had moved from my old complex due to the rent increasing and me not being able to afford with my military housing allowance ( I should have just worked another job to make the difference with how bad this place is) Trash everywhere, when I say everywhere I mean piled up for days even if it comes to the sidewalk. The only fix the complex offered was taking a piece of cardboard, and writing in a permanent marker something along the lines of "you live here". Bugs everywhere To include the complex apartments and lack of assistance with maintenance. Continue to get bug bites. Instead of addressing the issues that I put a work order in for AFTER I moved in; the staff state in resident portal "added to initial move in inspection " what they should have put was we're sorry we don't have adequate staff,etc we will get to it when we can or something. Do not dismiss work orders. They don't read the work order requests properly as on resident portal there is the questions of pets, I requested they try to coordinate with me due to my pet. Nope. Ignored. I regret my decision and I am trying to move out already. if you are looking for a good apartment complex I highly recommend the Carlton at greenbrier!! Cindy and Shaquil are awesome! they have awesome maintenance and I've even seen shaquil who works in the office help with maintenance! Biggest regret was ever leaving that place.
