The shop is now called Collectiva and it's a stylish wee boutique stocking Canadian shoe brand John Fluevog whose designs are truly unique, combining fun with comfort and style. Along with the shoes there's designer jewellery and accessories with a Kiwiana skew which are highly covetable and not majorly expensive, It's a great place to buy out-of-the-ordinary gifts and if you're not familiar with Fluevog shoes then get along here and check them out - they are excellent quality along with being cool and different .

Although very reasonably priced, AS Colour also offers fantastic deals year around, like their '3 tees and 2 sweats for $110' deal. Everywhere you look people are sporting AS Colour gear, and it suits everyone as well as being incredibly comfortable. I love their guys Shadow Pocket Tees and their Raglan Tees are instantly identifiable - just because they're designed for guys, doesn't mean they don't also look great on girls though! AS Colour is also the ideal place for designers to purchase plain tees, caps and sweaters from - they're cheap and perfect to print, paint or sew on to. So if you're a budding designer or have a business and tees are part of the uniform, make sure you check out the deals AS Colour can offer you!

The staff were chatting amongst themselves and stocking shelves but really, what assistance did I need choosing between coloured or striped tops of identical design. The central counter with inlaid computer screens suits top-of-the-line suit and shirt stores but falls short here. For plain cotton T-shirts there are other, cheaper places to shop in Auckland because basics are inherently boring.

By no means has the quality decreased, it's still a beautifully curated collection of both international and local designers, I think it's just no longer my style. That being said Superette gets four stars because their store is always immaculate, the staff re friendly and they're a great one stop shop for jeans with a tonne of brands to choose from. I also have bought a couple of great gifts from their selection of homewares and one thing I have most definitely added to the wish list is their linen sheets (waaaaay higher up the priority list these days). It seems to be a bit of a trend at the moment for popular AK City businesses to open up shop on the Shore and being a proud North Shorian myself, let's hope it continues!

I have a number of tops that cost me less than $100 and a number of dresses that cost me less than $150. But that was back in the day. Like, pre-2008. I don't know what has happened since then, but the same lovely, simple, quality style clothes are now almost double in price. I don't think you could get a dress at Storm for less than $200 now, and that's on the cheaper side. Still a nice boutique, well laid out with colours grouped together, and on the cheaper side for Ponsonby Rd. Still I can't justify such an increase in price point for the same brand within a five year period.

The store isn't huge but you can tell that they've carefully selected everything that is in there and it appears to be up-and-coming brands as opposed to the well-known ones, which I love. They also seem to have a good relationship with all the makers. The lovely lady behind the counter knew about each of them and they've got their business cards on the countertop for you to take home. I spied these two incredible dog portraits, one of a labby and the other a bulldog (?), and being a new doggie mum myself wanted to know if she was based in Auckland and did commission work. The lady informed me that she did and gave me a business card to take home - brilliant!

They write your name on the changing room door to make sure they address you by name which is great. Great range of products, although their guys department was a little lacking, but probably cause they don't have a large male market. The have free in store yoga, after the store closes on Wednesdays.

I have to admit, Lulu L's price point is a little steep, but there's a lot of thought that goes into the design and fabrics. For example, all the cropped walking pants have special pockets just big enough to hold your phone and a credit card. They use FRENCH terry-cloth (four way stretch apparently!) and every item I've purchased is super comfortable. I highly recommend a visit to one of the LL stores. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and great gear to choose from!!
