And that's been our experience since working with our agent, Tippy Sourignavong. From the jump, Tippy demonstrated deep knowledge of insurance products (including terms and conditions that I found confusing), patience (in explaining the differences between policies), and responsiveness (often getting back to me within minutes for any question I had). She found us the best deal among insurers to cover our home, car (and later an additional car), and umbrella insurance from AAA; better than I could have found on my own. Before renewing this year, Tippy reached out, letting me know that she cross shopped my existing coverage across all the insurers and found us a better deal, saving us hundreds this year. She also flagged that insurers by and large were moving away from replacement cost value (RCV) to actual cost value (ACV) for roof replacements, which isn't as good, but out of her hands. I still appreciated the call out and it's exactly the type of proactive streamlined information I need to understand my choices and make a decision. I had questions about…read morethe company, which I stated outright to Joe Cox, but instead Joe Cox talked over me and didn't seem to want me to ask questions. He asked many questions to assess me--to determine whether or not I might be good for his company--even though I simply called with some basic questions. He was pushy and lacked the basic manners that you should expect from someone who values you as a potential customer. In the end, he said, "Well, I'm busy, so I have to go." And he hung up. Manners are important, and this guy doesn't have any. You'll get better manners from a big-box insurance company. UPDATE: At around 15 minutes after I posted the above review, I got four phone calls in rapid succession from three different phone numbers--one of which was this company's phone number and one of which said "restricted"--with a voicemail from Joe Cox. This guy, Joe Cox, was too "busy" to properly end our conversation (he hung up on me), yet he is not too busy to be quite bothered by my honest review. His voicemail states that my review leads him to believe that I am confused...that he was simply being direct. No, what I am is honest. There is a way to be direct and still have proper manners, and maybe Joe Cox will learn that someday. I myself am direct, but I have proper manners. I do not recall ever in my life treating a person in the way that I was treated by Joe Cox. As regards this posting of such great concern to Mr. Cox: It is my right to give my honest opinion on here in a respectful way--which I have done. Let me say this, Zach, an insurance salesman who works out of this office, struggles to do his job so that you will not loose $85 on auto insurance you never wanted or ever used. Let me step back and tell the story. I started shopping around to see if I could get a better rate on my auto insurance, put my info on one of those websites, and within minutes I got inundated with emails. The next day the phone calls started coming in, and Zach manages to get a hold of me and quotes me a good rate for auto insurance. I tell him to sign me up, which he does. The next day he calls me back to tell me that an incident popped up on my drivers record (a very minor scratch from about 4 years ago that I had forgotten) and that would make my premiums more expensive than originally quoted, and higher than my former insurance with Geico. I tell him then I'm not interested in State Farm and ask him to refund my first month's premium since I was quoted a different price. He says he will but that it may take a few weeks to show up on my bank statement. A few weeks go by and the $85 charge is still on my statement, so I call Zach back and can't get through to him and leave him a voicemail. No reply. A few more weeks goes by and I get a bill from State Farm for another month's premium. It turns out, not only has Zach not refunded my money, but he never un-enrolled me for their auto insurance. I call back and get ahold of Zach and he successfully un-enrolls me, but then says because I was "technically insured" by State Farm for a month (even though I told him I was uninterested and asked him to un-enroll me less than 14hrs after my original quote), the underwriters would not refund the first month's premium. I told him I expect my money to be refunded because I did not ask for these services. He said he would talk to the underwriters and get back to me. Weeks go by, no word from Zach. Voicemails and emails go unreturned, and State Farm still has my $85 that rightfully belongs to me. Filing in small claims court costs $65, so I've decided that the crooks can keep my $85 that they've stolen from me, but they will never, ever get any additional business from me, my family, or my friends ever again.
