I normally love going to the dentist, but this office gave my family one of the worst experiences we've ever had. During my cleaning, the dentist caused horrible pain to my teeth -- something I've never experienced before at any other office. That alone made me switch dentists. Even worse, my fiancée was in severe pain with her teeth, and the office would not see her for two weeks. They ignored how much pain she was in, and by the time they finally scheduled her, she ended up needing an emergency root canal on the spot. A month later, she experienced another awful toothache, and instead of seeing her, they just wanted to give her pain medication and delay treatment again. They didn't return her calls promptly, and when they finally did, they still scheduled her days out. We nearly went to the emergency room, but thankfully we found a new dentist who took her in immediately. It turned out her filling had broken, her tooth was decaying, and the infection had spread into her gum, cheek, and almost up to her nose. SHE HAD A SECOND EMERGENCY ROOT CANAL!!! That pain should never have been ignored. No dentist should ever refuse to treat a patient in that much pain. This office was dismissive, unresponsive, and neglectful. Dr. Orlans has been my Dentist for over 30 years. When I first met David I had a fear of Doctors and was a problematic patient. From day one Dr. Orlans has shown incredible patience and made me feel comfortable with seeing a Dentist or any doctor. Dr. Orlans is also very intelligent and invested in state-of-the-art equipment when he started High Bridge Dental. Dr. Orlan's staff is very friendly and when I walk into his office I feel like I am walking into a family home. It's a fun and friendly family environment. Over the years I have had Dental emeergencies and Dr. Orlans has always responded. He has seen me with notice of less than one hour and I greatly appreciate his dedication to the profession. David Orlans, DMD has a fabulous team, from the front office team who are charming, approachable and understanding, to the hygienists who are efficient and skilled in cleaning teeth to Dr. Olans -- a talented and professional dentist who happens to play great music in his office. Their equipment is state-of-the art and I love the atmosphere! Another Important Item to Note: I am new to High Bridge and went to another dentist nearby who told me that I would need two implants (he also said it would be over $10K). I decided to get a second opinion with Dr. Orlans, who indicated that we could save the two teeth -- with a root canal and crown. I appreciated the fact that Dr. Orlans has the technical experience and skill and has been in practice long enough to know the right course of treatment! I am not sure how this place got 4 or 5 stars in review. I was looking for a new dentist because my dentist for 30 years decided to close his practice so I came here after a neighbor recommended it. Dr. O and hygienist were OK but I am having trouble contacting him to discuss my options after my visit to Endodontist (recommended by Dr. O) and for the last 3 weeks. When I call, no one picks up the phone and their voice mail box is full so can't even leave a message. I am hoping they see this and will get better in their customer relations. read more

I was so nervous going to a dentist since I have not been to one in so many years. I'm talking like 15+ years at least. I called this location and was able To get an appointment same day! That never happens with doctors! I was impressed with the class and elegance of the location. I was also impressed by the amazing customer support from the entire staff. Everyone I talked to answered all of my questions and genuinely were concerned. I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. The woman who cleaned my teeth and took x-rays gave me so much helpful information. It was a joy to be with her. Then the main Dr. comes in, Dr. Orlans and he was super friendly and down to earth. He also made me feel super comfortable and thankful for being there! I guess it's true what they say, good things are worth waiting for! I could not have found a better dentist at this point! Best dentist experience I have ever had ( it's something I avoid until necessary) I called everywhere for an Emergency tooth extraction. This was the only place that could get me in. In fact the tooth was out an hour or so after I called. Everyone in the office was exceptionally helpful. This business does not have hours posted on their door, unlike most businesses. I stopped by on a Friday early afternoon hoping to just get some basic info about their, well, hours, what insurance they accepted, etc., but they were closed. I went by another day but they appeared closed as well. It's just frustrating that something so simple as signage doesn't seem a strong concern. They do have a rainbow flag out front, which is fine with me, but I care less about their politics and more about finding quality dental care and when during the week I can do this. If they work whenever they feel like it, then I suppose good for them, but they certainly don't make it easy for the customer. I like to support local business but since I have a busy life like many of us, twould be nice to know their hours. As we become increasingly digital in our lives and find info online, I hope businesses remember that little, "old-fashioned" details like hours posted on their door still mean a lot. read more

I recently switched Dentists because I was not happy with where I had been going. Today I had my first visit with Dr. Orlands. The office is one of the nicest offices I have ever been in. So modern, clean and the technology seemed state of the art. Ashley provided a thorough cleaning and gave me really great information. I truly felt like a cared for patient and not like cattle. I was always so rushed and it seemed impersonal elsewhere. I was given a very thoughtful plan for a tooth extraction and a pending implant. Keep up the great service! I waited an hour past my appointment time to be seen, plus another 1/2 hour after my cleaning to see the dentist. Then I asked the hygienist if they were running behind and she said "no, this is normal protocol". I am not sure why everyone is saying it's so modern and state of the art. They don't even have an area on the side of the chair to rinse out your mouth like every other dentist does. Instead you have to get out of your chair and walk to the sink. I can imagine this would be a real pain when you're getting dental work done. Besides all that though, the dentist made some very inappropriate and rude comments and kept trying to pass it off as a "joke". I found him to be very unprofessional with no bedside manner at all. read more

I am NOT a fan of going to the dentist & have had some bad experiences. I react very slowly to local anesthesia, which make things trickier for me. I heard great things about Dr. Orlans from several people, so I thought I'd give him a try. I'm so glad I did! I had no idea there are more up to date anesthesia options, Dr. Orlans seems to have the latest version of how to do everything. I had a crown done, anesthesia was instant & was wearing off by the time I was leaving the office - not a half day later. Brought my kids in for cleanings and they loved the Dr & his staff. Dr. O is THE BEST dentist. He made my visit smooth and easy from the minute I walked in the door. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained more about what's going on with my teeth than any other dentist I've ever been to. Aside from that, the office is beautiful from the decor in the waiting area to the state of the art equipment in the exam rooms. I made appointments for the rest of my family before I left.
