Since I was visiting from out of town I was able to borrow one of their many mats. The class was great, easy to follow along and our instructor was patient yet supportive. I really like High Country Yoga. I have been attending classes, inconsistently, over the last several years. I am no yogi master, so my favorite classes are Restorative Yoga and Deep Stretch. I also enjoy the $5 Reggae yoga on Fridays, which take on more of a fun, group feel. I cannot speak to the more advanced courses. My classes have been taught by Briana and by Carey. They are both sweet women who lead exceptional classes. They are often demonstrating and doing the poses right along with the group, and never do they "correct" your pose if you aren't able to do it all the way or opt for another pose instead. Of course, if you ask for feedback, they are happy to provide it. Briana and Carey speak of and emulate self-love and -compassion, which I find highly refreshing and, at times, emotional during sessions. I am rating this place 5 stars because I always feel welcomed in this space and relieved, relaxed, and rejuvenated after attending a session. The instructors are happy to stick around and speak with clients or answer any questions afterward. I have attended other yoga classes at other studios in the past which I felt were gimmicky and/or made me feel like I wasn't welcome there given my lack of natural strength, flexibility, and overall yoga skills. I have seen people of all ages and sizes at HCCY, and sincerely encourage anyone to attend. Regarding pricing, you can opt to purchase a class package of any size (e.g., 1 class, 3 classes, 6, or 10; 1 week unlimited, 1 month unlimited, etc.) Your first class at the studio is only $5. Subsequent classes on a class-by-class basis (i.e., not a package rate) are $12, unless you are a student, which brings the price down to $9. Occasionally, they offer really special deals; for example, this past Black Friday in Nov. 2018, I purchased an awesome, cheap 10-class package. Was very reluctant to doing yoga, but after my girlfriend dragging me there several times I actually started to realize the benefits of it. All of the yoga instructors (especially Briana) are all very professional and make you feel comfortable. Would recommend anybody to go to this studio or at least give yoga a shot. read more

I was recently on an extended vacation in Blowing Rock and knew, in addition to doing lots of hiking, I wanted to find a place to continue my yoga practice at least once a week. The Yelp reviews for High Country Yoga were great, plus the location was convenient for me, coming up from Blowing Rock. As others have said, having ample free parking was a bonus (and Harris Teeter is right there, in case you need groceries). Both Angie and Briana were welcoming to a newcomer who was going to be in town temporarily. The other yogis practicing were equally warm and friendly. The prices per class are more than reasonable (first class is only $5). I took the Gentle Yoga class as well as the Guided Relaxation. I liked the place enough to buy a shirt (I love the logo) as a souvenir of my trip. I'll be back in Blowing Rock next summer and will be sure to return to High County Yoga. read more

The best yoga studio in Boone! There is free parking in a huge lot so you don't have to drive around for 20 minutes and risk getting a parking ticket. The front desk person is always the same instructor so I like that there is consistency and she remembers my name. The classes are great and I always feel like a got a whole body work out and a spiritual work out as well. read more

I have been to a multiple yoga studios throughout my short yoga career, and this one is by far the best! I mostly take my classes with Briana and Jordan, and they are both phenomenal instructors, but I've never had a bad experience with any of the others either! You will learn the correct way to do each pose and be challenged at the same time. The environment is so welcoming and friendly, you will definitely get the most out of your practice here.
