This isn't the worst urgent care clinic I've been to, but it is lacking in some areas. One good thing, if you need to come, the patient forms are posted online so you can pre-fill before your arrival. The staff is slow, however they're obviously understaffed. The few time I've been, whether for myself or kids, the end result was satisfactory. It does help that it's located right outside of the gate. read more

I arrived needing something staggeringly simple: a doctor's note. Not surgery, not a complex diagnosis--just a piece of paper. A task that, under normal circumstances, should take less time than making toast. Instead, I was trapped here for two hours, left to marinate in my own frustration as the staff operated on a timeline best described as "prehistoric." Step One: The Front Desk--A Study in Professional Apathy I approached the reception desk with the naive optimism of someone who had yet to realize they had just entered a bureaucratic abyss. "Hi, I just need a quick doctor's note." Silence. A slow blink. Somewhere in the distance, a tree completed an entire life cycle. The receptionist, moving with the urgency of a dying sea cucumber, eventually pushed a clipboard toward me with all the enthusiasm of someone handing over a court summons. No words. Against all odds, she was warm, polite, and apologetic. A little frazzled, sure, but in a way that made her endearing, not incompetent. She listened, actually acknowledged the absurdity of my wait time, and in less than one minute, signed my hard-won doctor's note. At that moment, I wanted to tell her to flee. To escape this bureaucratic wasteland and use her medical talents somewhere that isn't actively trying to break the human spirit. Doctor, if you are reading this--run. You are too good for this place. Blink twice if you need extraction. Final Verdict: DO. NOT. GO. HERE. Would I return? I would rather let an unlicensed raccoon perform groin surgery on me. Would I recommend this place? Only to my worst enemy. Would I personally convince the only good doctor in this facility to run to somewhere she is actually appreciated? Absolutely. If you are considering this clinic, don't. Find a different doctor. Find a shaman. Find a fortune teller. Hell, just Google your symptoms and roll the dice. Took my 93-year-old mom to the clinic when she fell and scraped her leg. They treated her and gave her antibiotics. A few days later it was worse so I took her back and they took care of it with no problem and treated us well with the bill everyone there was so kind to my mom and very kind to me as well. Having trouble breathing so they make you walk in and out of the clinic back and forth to you car. Take this paperwork to your car, fill it out, bring it back in then go back out to your car and we will call you when the burst will take you back. The person at the front desk is rude! She told me to bring the paperwork back to the window so when I did she slammed the window open and snatched the clipboard out of my hand. I don't usually write reviews. However after dealing with the front desk admin for 2 mins and a waiting room full of people I thought it appropriate to do so. Its never ok to be rude! Just, because you are the only urgent care in town. We are a small community and have mutual respect for each other. It however in this case at this clinic couldn't be farther from the truth. To the lady with the thick black glasses that is suppose to have a smile on her face with an unbecoming permanent scowl . It might be a good Idea as a representative at a place that helps sick people to have outstanding bedside manner. My suggestion is if you cant bring yourself to change your ways . Get a different job. As sick as I am and need to be seen . I will never come to your establishment and I will tell anyone who asks me not to go there as well. Bad PR is never good! read more

If i could give them less than a 1 Star rating i would. They are the most unprofessional people i have dealt with in my life. My mother had an infection in her finger and although she has not had the best experience previously with this clinic, we decided to try it again. In her previous experience she was misdiagnosed they told her that she was fine and later that day wound up being brought to the emergency room and was told she has 3 different strains of the flu. Which High Dessert did not even test her for. After that visit. She received a small bill and was told that she didn't have to pay it because of the misdiagnosis. This was 3.5 years ago. Today they refused to treat my mom because of a $20 balance that she was told she didn't have to pay. It's not the bill. It's that she never received a bill for this in the last 3.5 years and the rudeness of the staff and unprofessional behavior. Plus it was non a clean environment. I needed an xray of my hand and called ahead to make sure they were open on New Years Eve. They said they would stop taking patients at 2PM. So I use sick leave to leave work early and arrive at 1230 only to be told that they arent taking anymore patients for the day... This has happened to me twice now. Seems like common practice for them to close whenever they want, despite what their website or receptionist say. Its the kind of service Ive come to expect in this small town. Sucks that this is the closest Urgent Care in 50 miles. read more

She was taken in and I'm pretty sure they for got about her because she sat in a room for 30min and no one even checked on her. Ok the wait time can be really long BUT this is the only Urgent Care Clinic in Sierra Vista! The staff here does their best to ease the burden of waiting by allowing you the option to leave or wait in your car and they call you when it's your turn. Today I ended up waiting about 4 hours to have my vitals checked and waited another 45 minutes for the doc. Yes that's really long but one of their staff called out today and there's a lot of people today. Again the only Urgent Care in Sierra Vista. I left, ate lunch and watched Netflix in my car. So stop getting mad at the staff and just binge watch a show. read more

Don't waste your time going to this clinic for any medical issues. I was advised by the Tricare nurses line to take my daughter here for an eye issue and was just turned away at 1700 because they had too many people to take them past their 1900 closing time and an emergency happened. But let me say, urgent cares are not equip to deal with emergencies, that is why you have to transfer them to the ER via ambulance. These people are not passionate about providing medical care! He was truly professional, answered all my questions and gave me the meds I asked for COVID. Staff took care of ensuring I received my prescriptions. There is a wait and service could be quicker. If I could give this place 0 stars I would!! Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful staff. I was told if I made it in before 6pm I'd be seen when I got there at 5:15 doors were locked. I called the office and the receptionist told me they are done accepting patients so I asked to speak with a supervisor since the website says otherwise. They left me on hold and then the same receptionist came and opened the door and tried to say it was not locked,(several other people saw the door was locked). Then as I am talking to her requesting a supervisor she starts closing the door. Super disrespectful, I came there with a medical emergency and they refused service. Wouldn't even recommend where else I could go just told me come back in the morning as if someone with a urgent concern would want to come back the next day. So disgusted with this staff and establishment. Don't work in the medical field if you are an asshole without compassion. We've come to this location due to kids/adults' illnesses and semi-emergencies a few times a year since they've opened their doors. Have noticed the level of care has gotten better and better. Really don't have any major complaints. If I had to state one, it would be the wait to get processed. Can get very busy and crowded. But it is still much faster than going to the Sierra Vista Regional Hospital ER to be seen/diagnosed/sent on your merry way. read more

After waiting two and a half hours with two sick kids, age 2 and 3. They asked me to take my son outside because he was crying. Only one patient in the lobby who understood his discomfort, the receptionist did not want him in there crying. So I went to the urgent care about 4 days ago for what I thought was the flu. Filled out all the paperwork and sat in the lobby for about 30 mins. Then I was called to the front desk and told "Sorry, bad news. you have an outstanding balance of $500.00 from 4yrs ago that you need to pay BEFORE we can see you." I advised the lady I was unaware of any balance owed as I do have insurance and never received a bill. I also told her that I could pay half of the balance right then if I could be seen. she gave me the number to their billing office and said if they'll accept that they would see me. so I go outside, still hacking my lungs out with a 103 temp and talk to billing. I told them I was not contesting the bill but offered to pay half and was told NOPE, pay it all or go somewhere else. So, frustrated and frankly worn out, I went home because I didn't think I could handle a 12 hour wait at the ER. Long story short...I was transported to the hospital that night with a 104 temp and full blown pneumonia. Now, is this something that the clinic could have treated? Probably not. HOWEVER, I was DENIED access to a Doctor that could have at least given me a prognosis to let me know that my condition was far more serious than the flu and that I should go to the hospital immediately. It is sad that money and profit supersedes the Hippocratic Oath. But then again, if you didn't make it back to the Doctor, I guess that Oath wasn't violated right? I guess it's just a matter of semantics. Either way, it's bad business and as far as I'm concerned puts peoples lives at risk when you let the receptionist and billing staff decide who is seen instead of a Doctor. Won't EVER be back...I like living too much. read more

Much faster then ER in town. Got here a little before they opened today. Was seen, diagnosed, and sent to a local pharmacy for meds all within an hour. Dr. Clay was thorough and friendly. Front desk staff were dad and efficient. Young lady who took my blood pressure and temperature was friendly and caring about my symptoms. I will be back and will encourage those folks with a medical issue not needing the ER to go here! Went here on a tricare referral since I couldn't get a regular appt with my PCM for two days. Had to call the health care nurse advice line to get the referral. Worth it to start meds today instead of two days from now! read more

I wanted to get a Covid Test with rapid results. I have been trying to avoid exposing my family for the past 5 days and wanted to know if I needed to continue. I understood that High Desert Clinic was the only place in town with the capability. I knew it would be a wait since there were several people ahead of me but filled out the paperwork and settled in. I began to notice that people who had come in an hour after me and fill out their paperwork were now being called back. I didn't understand why they were being seen ahead of me but I heard the receptionists several times reassure otheres waiting with me that no one gets missed and it was all fair. It took 3 hours before I was called back. My vitals were taken quickly and efficiently then I was moved to another room to wait for the Doctor. He arrived a few minutes later and asked a couple of questions about my exposure then took my samples and walked out closing the door. After a few minutes I opened the door and asked the nearest nurse if I was done. She didn't know and then the doctor came out of the next room and she got his attention and asked if he was done with me. He didn't know who I was. She had to show him my chart to find out that yes he was done. He could have told me that on his way out of the door but that would have taken a level of care he wasn't providing today. I asked how soon I would have my results and he said they would call me. I asked again how long would that be and he said 5-6 days. So he didn't listen to anything I told him about my reason for wanting the rapid test nor did he change his mind when I told him that results in 5 days was useless. I would know before then whether the disease manifests itself and it was a waste of my time and a test. I will not return to High Desert Clinic. read more

Just went in today to be seen for a cough I've had for several weeks and was finally able to receive care that the military did not provide me. Dr. Olsen was awesome and confirmed that I had an upper respiratory infection, and not allergies as the military had been trying to tell me. He was very personable and a great listener. The clinic is clean and the staff is nice. The wait time was reasonable. I would highly recommend this clinic. read more

This is the only urgent care in Sierra Vista. But my family and I have been in seen in urgent care facilities all over the country (and even in Mexico and on cruise ships) and would rate High Desert Clinic among the top 25%! If you cannot get in to see your regular doctor, but are not bad enough to go to the emergency room, this is the place to go! I have chronic illnesses that occasionally flare up, while my husband, mother, and sister are all very healthy and need to be seen only if they gets sick (flu, cold) or have a simple injury and need to be seen by a doctor, but still not sick/ill/injured enough to warrant the ER. The check-in is easy and streamlined after your first visit. They accept many of insurances. And if you do not have insurance, there rates are good. Everyone - the receptionist, medical assistance, medical practitioners - is friendly, knowledgeable, professional and seem to be genuinely concerned for your well being. You can make appointments if you are looking for sports physicals or the like. I do wish they would see or emphasize that they do see patients not only by the order in which they arrive or by their appointment times, but also by urgency. A sick, crying, coughing baby with a fever should be seen before the 16 year-old who made an appointment for sports physical. If you call in advance of 'just showing up' when you need urgent care, they will give you a bit of triage - letting you know how long your wait may be or if they think you will need to go to the ER anyway because you need more than they can do for you (such as needing more tests - blood, MRI, etc...) or because they have many people waiting and you might get through the ER faster. My visits there have never taken more than 1 1/2 hours whereas it is always a minimum of 4 hours in the ER. They may be the only urgent care in town, but I would still go there if they had a competitor other than the ER. read more

DO NOT USE THIS IRGENT CARE CLINIC. My son had a pebble stuck in his ear, which was visible with a naked eye, with no pain. The doctor came in, prodded around the ear, which resulted in my son crying in pain. The doctor simply says to take him to the hospital. The ER physician stated that his ear drum was ruptured and bleeding and now the pebble was so far lodged in his ear, my son would need to see an ear, nose, and throat specialists. The doctor at the urgent care failed to acknowledge what she had done and did not mention the new injury to me. After an assessment, she should have made the determination that she could not remove it and referred him to the ER. Very upset with this organization. read more

After arriving we were informed that patient registration ended at 6:15 and had ended at that time for several months.
