It took me a really long time to sit down and write this review, as I have very mixed feelings…read moreabout my experience at little excellence. I didn't want to write it while the wound was fresh and I was still upset about what happened. Little excellence was my 2 year old daughters first school experience and she was going full time 3 days a week, with an extra hour of care in the morning. Everything went swimmingly in the beginning and she loved going there. November hit and the honeymoon was over. I got a call that my daughters face got scratched and that there was a mark on her face over a fight over a toy and that as a response my daughter put her mouth on the child as if she was going to bite him but did not leave any marks (as per the phone call message I received). This was our "first warning that she could be "kicked out". I did my part and printed books for both school and home on why we can't bite, as the school asked me to come up with a plan for her. I gave them strategies via email and in person on how to better help her especially before she gets frustrated. There was a second incident, where no one was able to tell me what exactly happened as it was during diaper changing time and there "was not enough staff to watch all the kids at that time". I was told my child had to leave the school as per their policy which I had no problem complying with, but when I asked to see the video so I could see what was happening so I could better help and see what was occurring before the incident, I never received a response. This cut me to my core as it was right before Christmas and my daughter had no idea she was about to be ripped from the only school she's ever known leaving us in a position to scramble for a school. Her last day was the Christmas party where the staff talked about how sweet my daughter was and how sad they were to see her leave, but it was difficult for me to hear as it was not our choice to leave. I do not dispute the school policy and them following the policy what I did not like was how it was handled. No one offered to help her work through this very normal unfortunate toddler behavior. No one allowed me to see how, when or why it was occurring via video. Needless to say we found a great school for our daughter and she is thriving there so much we increased her to 5 full days. Overall I feel like the school has very young teachers who need the time and experience to gain knowledge on how to intervene and teach students rather than resorting to expulsion. I am sticking with 3 stars because my daughter really did love going here and she always had a great time, in morning care she had no issues. Although the teachers were young they still need some more experiences to help them better intervene with toddlers in the future. This wasn't the school for us, but maybe it will be for others.

They both graduated and made it into the public school's gifted and talented programs. My Mother in law had more contact with the school as I had to work. There was never an issue ever the teacher's were so well experienced they kept my son's engaged to want to learn my youngest son actually graduated recently reading early beginners reading books! Every kid is different but the hands on teaching you have to appreciate it is rare. The school is spotless as well very clean. The only down side is the parking as there are several school's in the area but they work their best to release on time to avoid it. A little secret many NYC board of Ed Teacher's and principals send their children here for Preschool.

Of all the centers my wife and I researched this is by far the best one. Our child just started…read moregoing here (our first child so there's apprehension) and so far RHCC has been absolutely professional, friendly and accommodating. When we took the tour one of the owners walked with us for over an hour and was very thorough and detailed about every aspect of the place. He was very transparent and explained everything exhaustively, I like that. RHCC has a large backyard with playsets, swings, slides, etc. Patient and knowledgeable teachers, the whole place is monitored with cameras, you have to get through two doors (that can only be buzzed open) and the teachers/aides go through a background check. I like security like any parent so this made me feel comfortable. They're flexible on their hours and if your kid isn't potty trained yet they change on premises (if you're comfortable with that.) Plus the thing that sold me the most on the place was the children themselves seemed legitimately happy while they were playing, etc. so that clued me in it wasn't a big act. We'll be taking our child back.

Our 4&5 year old grandsons just finished a full year and summer school here at Small World School…read more I thought from the first day that the physical layout of the school was professional looking and well kept. It took awhile for our boys to adapt to their first time away from home, but there were no big issues and minor ones were managed with empathy for the children. The women in charge, particularly their primary teacher, Ms Jenn, were kind and understanding to all the children there. Our boys were sorry to leave today and we feel they had a positive first school experience and would recommend the school to anyone interested.

I found out not only one time but three times; the only way I knew when I went to pick him up earlier than the normal time I usually pick him up. I also found out that they put him to sleep sometimes for more than three hours even-though I have asked her several times for max. an hour and half to avoid any accident. If he has no accident at home why would be in the day care !!!! The teacher yells too much at the kids.
