Good work, poor quote…read more I had a shed and platform that needed removing on the morning that a new shed was to arrive. They made a bid based not only on that specification, but also photos I sent showing both the shed and the platform. When the crew arrived, they said (a) they did not know the platform was part of the project and (b) it would cost more to do the job. Since I was stuck, needing to have the old shed gone so the new shed could go in its place, I had no options but to pay more than the bid. The shed and platform were removed, no complaints about the actual work. But had the office manager, Philip, done his job properly, I could have saved a couple of hundred bucks by keeping the platform and staging the new shed atop it. I worry. In the moving business, some local/regional movers play a game where they bid low, then on moving day demand more money saying the job was bigger than expected. This is a well known scam since the person moving cannot stay in their old rental. I hope this is not what Junk Recyclers is doing. So, if you have a small junk hauling gig, they are probably fine. Anything bigger, you might insist on a site visit and firm quote.

One of the worst companies that I have ever dealt with. I will try to keep this short…read more My stepmother usurped our family business after my father died. She did so by using two of her three alcoholic brothers that were residing at our business as pit bulls. The business became stagnant, along with their trash and past customers' trash. (We did try to evict her and her siblings, but were unsuccessful. The local police did not offer much help.) Our business neighbor complained about the trash not being picked up, as the Republic bill was not being paid by my stepmother. Meanwhile, she and her horde were still creating trash. In desperation, we appealed to the Town of Maggie Valley (that's a whole other story), and instead of receiving help, there was a vague threat of the dumpster and trash being removed, which would have created a bigger problem for us. I was in no position to pay for a stolen Republic dumpster. My husband decided to contact Republic to pay for part of the outstanding bill out of the corporation's funds. The funds were limited, so he asked if half of the bill could be paid in a left message, and then fell asleep. Republic called back. I asked Republic if only half the bill could be paid and if that action of only paying half would allow Republic to pick up the overflowing trash. They said, "Yes, paying just half would allow for pick up of your trash." We told them that we would pay for half of the bill until we could remedy the situation we were in. We made it clear that this situation was a health hazard as well. My husband called Republic later and OKed paying half the bill; they did as well. Republic paid for the whole bill without our permission. We appealed directly to them by phone and email. Only one employee tried to help us. Corporate would never respond to my emails, and when they did, they gave me the runaround. In a last attempt to get back our money, a woman lied to us over the phone and said a check for us was cut. We never received one. I contacted the Better Business Bureau. I mistakenly told the BBB that the trash bill was paid from our personal credit card; my husband later told me that I was wrong and that it had come from corporate funds. The BBB gives you possibly up to ten investigation days and a few days to respond after they contact the business you are complaining about. At the time, I had to deal with other legal problems that arose when my father died. I also assumed that the BBB would take a long time. They didn't. I missed the window to contest Republic's response which was a TOTAL LIE. They claimed that nothing I had reported had even transpired. They even claimed that they had reimbursed us. At that point, I was too tired to provide emails or a bank statement, which would have helped my case. I can upon request. Pitiful, but true. Some interesting facts- part of Republic's response stated: "The call in conversation was over knowing that the trash would be cleaned up. The account was closed and cleaned up." First of all, we never asked them to "clean up" anything. We just asked them to pick up the dumpster's contents. We did not expect anyone to pick up any trash outside of the dumpster. Second of all, was our account dirty? And wouldn't it have to be cleaned up and then closed? And what does "cleaned up" mean in my case? Adding lies into my account notes? (Who writes this stuff?! I guess someone obsessed with cleaning up.) Republic is also known as GDS of Asheville. You can view my BBB complaint online. They might pick up your trash, but they also will treat you like trash.

Before 7:20 the dumpster was all set up, before my crew even arrived! Amazing Service, 5 stars, they are going to be my exclusive dumpster service going forward!
