We have been members of Kazoku karate for the last 5 years, and I can't recommend it high enough. This is not something I ever would have seen myself doing, but Alejandro is so motivating, warm, and amazing at what he does, and the environment feels like such a welcoming family that I really wanted to be a part of it. My love for this place has only grown since. All the instructors are not only highly skilled but also incredibly patient and supportive, and the training is perfect for both beginners and experienced martial artists. And this dojo does extremely well in competitions, producing the top fighters in the region. Lots of medals come back to the dojo after every travel event! (But also know that competing isn't required to be a part of things!) Best of all, the confidence my kids have gained from being a part of this dojo has carried over to school and other sports and activities. They are just flourishing and we attribute so much of it to Alejandro and the wonderful environment and team here. If you're an adult just looking to gain fitness, that's my story. I was always very active and have done everything from cross fit to a few ultramarathons, but the training here has developed my physical strength, balance, discipline, and overall fitness. And I've enjoyed making new friends. The facility is top-notch, with ample space for training and all the necessary equipment for whatever you are looking for. If you're looking for a fantastic place to learn karate and grow as a martial artist, this dojo is the place to be! Being a part of this family has been one of the most special things we have ever done.

Sensei Alejandro is excellent with the children, kind yet firm and they seem to really like him. He's great with adults too, thorough, extremely knowledgeable, stressing form and technique. Classes are busy and pretty full but the dojo is large enough to handle everyone.

Over the years I have traveled the country training at dozens of gyms and have competed in boxing, kickboxing, submission grappling and mixed martial arts. During this time I've been privy to many relationships with strength and conditioning coaches. I've encountered run of the mill younger guys starting out, established high level coaches with established reputations, and everything in between. Chris is amongst the highest echelons of anyone I've ever encountered. His nickname at my old jiu jitsu gym was 'the scientist' due to the detailed methodologies he deployed while training athletes there. If you asked him any question about any aspect of athletic performance related to sport or otherwise, he would rattle off a comprehensive research and experience based answer that would answer your query and then some. I want to emphasize the latter half of that. EXPERIENCE based as well as research based. I've encountered many professionals in my life at this point and I've noticed that regardless of the field they're in, if they are passionate about what they do for a long enough period of time, if they are constantly absorbing and applying new information, they tend to become more artists than scientists. Chris falls into this category. He has all of the knowledge and as long as I've known him he has been, and continues to be, obsessed with his craft. On top of his knowledge base he is intuitive at this point. This intuition is an attribute that can't be taught to someone, it is hard earned and takes many years to develop. There is no professional I know in any area of expertise I can more confidently recommend than Chris Grayson. I do not say this lightly. Particularly if you're a competitive athlete (and especially a combat athlete) Chris is one of the best kept secrets in the industry.
