Shoveling snow, stacking fire wood and general chores made adjustments a necessary routine for me at a young age. I moved to Houston in 2011 and finding a chiropractor was a top priority. I had been diagnosed with an auto-immune disease that affected my joints along with fibromyalgia right after I moved, making the need to find someone good even more urgent. I lucked out and found Dr. Samuel Hunt on the first try. He was working at Brando Chiropractic off Memorial at the time and used the differentiated technique, which was new to me. Dr. Hunt is 6'10" and a former basketball player. I'm not a petite girl at 5'8" and it helps to know that someone will physically be able to manage the adjustment. His background in athletics was encouraging, as many chiropractors I had seen in the past told me to back off of P90X and Crossfit in exchange for less "jarring" movements. It was refreshing to find a doctor willing to work with me to find solutions that suit my lifestyle best. I saw Dr. Hunt twice a month for the three years I lived in Houston and my health can be greatly attributed to his care. He was very thorough and I had x-rays run to see what we were dealing with and follow up x-rays every year to track progress, which there definitely was. If I was in rough shape, he was more than willing to make house calls. I had to take him up on that a few times. He even came to our hotel room the day before our move to adjust my husband and I since we didn't have time during the week to make it in. Dr. Hunt was a strong influence in my decision to try a gluten-free diet and was a great supporter when I decided that taking the next step to follow a Paleo diet may be the right choice. He was always coming to me with articles he had read regarding my diet and my condition. He has a very holistic approach and I found myself relying on him when my traditional doctors weren't offering any relief to my many auto-immune related issues. Dr. Hunt is thorough, compassionate and always looking for solutions. My sister and many former co-workers now see him on a regular basis based on my positive experience with him. I still get text messages from him checking in on my health and my husband and I will definitely be continuing care with him when we return to Houston. I highly recommend him.

I'm very disappointed with this location now. I've been going since 2020. I have a number of…read moreorthopedic issues including my cervical and lumbar spine, knees, shoulders, and other joints. I don't like my interactions with Dr. West. I do not think I have been treated with the care and compassion I deserve. Dr. West has made several dismissive and invalidating remarks during my visits. He seems annoyed and frustrated when I arrive and asks each time I come what's going on. Now, they have X-rays, charts, and other documentation regarding my injuries. He says this as if he has no idea what my problem are. When I tell him the areas that are bothering me, which typically are the same every visit, he seems annoyed. He asks if I'm making changes at work and doing my exercises. To which I reply. But the questions are more judgmental than inquisitive, because when I give him specific details he hardly ever remembers. His tone is condescending and passive aggressive. For instance, in 2022, during one of our first visits, I was having shoulder pain. I have shoulder injuries. When I told him he told me "you need to put some ice on it!" in a very short and dismissive way as if I was a child. I did not deserve that. Also, what he did not know, is that I have multiple tears in my rotator cuff, and a Slap tear and other issues due to being a volleyball player. He had no idea what the actual condition of my shoulder was. Ice alone was not going to fix my shoulder pain, instead I went to my orthopedic surgeon and completed physical therapy. This is just one of many examples where he said something dismissive, despite not having all the facts and assuming I am not doing anything to help myself. Finally, I had to explain to him that his remarks are not ok and that I'm doing the best I can with the time I have. I explained that I do rehab for my various body parts nearly every day, but I still cannot get to each area. Rehabbing my body is like a part-time job at this point. Also, I explained that the reason why I come to get adjusted every two weeks is to manage my health as much as possible, but not to be made fully whole as this is not reasonable for me. However, he was still annoyed. It seems like he was trying to convince me to stop coming for adjustments because he did not like the lack of progress. This is not his decision to make, but mine. It is wrong to try to force me to think a certain way because he is annoyed. My various conditions are treatable, but not necessarily reversible. Some of my issues are due to specific genetic and anatomical issues. To top it off, when I explained to him my plans after speaking to my orthopedic surgeon recently, he dismissed what the surgeon said and instead argued with me about having a neck curve. Again, not an appropriate thing to say and further proof that he seems to think that I am not worthy of compassion. Moreover, the doctor actually looked at my current X rays, wherein Dr. West has not seen an x ray of my neck since I started. I do not think his behavior is professional and I'm disappointed that this kind of treatment is tolerated. Update: I spoke to the owner, and I appreciate him speaking to me. However, he spent more time invalidating my experiences instead of listening. He said Dr.West is from the East Coast and that's why he comes across the way he does. He asked me if I'm from Houston. I've lived all over. I'm from Houston but I haven't lived here in an awhile. My job is based in DC. Being from the east coast is not a reason to be rude. Cutting me off and telling me that I didn't see what I saw is not ok. He said he's just trying to get an understanding of my goals. I told him what my goals were, and I explained that when I first started seeing them. I have no problem explaining my goals. Also, did you know that a chiropractor can actually help with more than the back, neck, or shoulder area? Foot or heal pain like plantar fasciitis, and "knots" or deep tissue pain... so many things.

The technician who saw me was very kind and helpful. I got my lumbar area and knee scanned. Finished around 5:40. I asked for a copy of my images so I had to wait another 10-15 min, which was understandable. Great location and would most def come back. They do accepts walk ins, however appointment client will be seen first.
