UNCC is a massive campus with an enrollment of some 30,000 students and it stands on a 1,000 acre campus. The station is at the surface level with a single island platform. There is a crossover just before the station and the trains could be at the stop on either side. There is some cover here but the station is otherwise completely exposed to the elements as are nearly all Blue Line stations. There is an automated ticket vending machine on the platform and you must have a ticket before boarding the train. You can also use the CATS app to purchase online. The next stop southbound is JW Clay Blvd/UNC Charlotte towards I-485/South Boulevard. Lots of construction here of condos and apartments and townhouses, but very few commercial businesses. There isn't a coffee shop or a restaurant very near to the station. The platforms for this station are fully handicapped accessible. There are some benches with a small amount of cover available. The platforms are on opposite sides of the tracks, so the doors of the train will open on the right side. There is no parking here other than some street parking, which for the moment isn't metered or marked very well. Parkwood is between 9th Street (towards uptown) and 25th Street (towards University). Extending the Blue Line all the way to UNCC might have seemed excessive, but the success of the first segment really warrants the growing city's demand for public transportation. This station has some new neighbors! Most notably Optimist Hall. The way the track curves (you do go past it) but its a smart 1-2 minute walk. With the ongoing construction, it's probably not the most glamorous walk to get there, but the new apartments and other improvements will surely make the area a bustling hub of activity. Just like the other Lynx stations, the themes were designed by local artists. Plenty of bike rack locations (to encourage multi-modal forms of getting around). With everyone moving to Charlotte, it's actually really refreshing to not have to get in a car to get somewhere.

An excellent station on the new northern extension of Charlotte's Blue Line light rail that as of…read moremid-March now extends from University City at the north end and I-485 at the south end. This clean and modern station is quite large and features a decent covered waiting area on the platform where there are automated ticket vending machines and overhead announcements (both visual and audible) of the next train in either direction. There are two platforms with the two tracks between them. This is a surface station and easily handicap accessible. A big plus here is the very large five story parking deck (800 spaces!) that is connected to the station with a pedestrian bridge and stairs/elevator. At the moment, parking is free though you need a ticket in order to exit the deck on weekdays between 3pm and 6pm. There is a great stop for a number of CATS buses on the opposite side of the parking deck. Very close to the station is the Shoppes at University Place shopping center and a number of apartment/condo buildings. The station is between UNC Charlotte (the northern terminus) and McCullogh to the south.

He took some group photos for our "parents night out". In the middle of the concert, a downpour happened. Lew came immediately when I called him since this was earlier than our scheduled pick up time. The van is very comfortable and clean! Everyone in our group commented on how enjoyable our ride was and that we need to plan another night out so that we can take this van. We called many other places for a ride, and Lew's prices were the most reasonable for our quick trip to/from the concert. We will definitely use Comfy Coach for another night out!!

The people who showed up were just part timers. very nice but not what I paid for. we ended up getting my son in law to bring the stretcher 1 1/2 hours to Drs office. we had to call EMS to get him into house.
