This is in regard to their hiring practices on Indeed. Recently, this church posted openings for teaching position(s) at the school. They required applicants to submit a resume, answer questions, and couple of other tasks. After submitting, my application/resume through indeed, there was no follow up. Waited a few days, nothing. After two weeks, went to check and there was a message stating "No longer accepting applicants" What an utter and complete waste of time. Why post something, and provide no follow up? If you are not hiring, then take down the Indeed "urgently hiring" message being sent out. After doing more research, Higher Vision was paying a lowly $20 for full time teachers. This is BELOW minimum wage, and almost half the national average for teachers. read more

Higher Vision is a great church. Their Worship is top tier and feels like a mini concert with great singing and musical talent. The head Pastor Ming is always energetic and grabs your attention immediately in a good way. They lead a great team at this church. Youth ministries are amazing. My family and I started attending 7 months ago, and we struggled before that to find the right church. Pastor Jared and his amazing staff are compassionate, loving and caring. The sermons are heartfelt and inspirational. Most importantly, we all feel closer to God than we ever have. Pastor Jared has the experience necessary to head his church and the members feel his passion and devotion to Christ. I saw some negative reviews here about donations and money. And I feel like how else do you run a church of this size without the support and the donations that are needed to continue providing the community with an amazing church experience. 5 stars for the kids program. If you have a child with special-needs, they are just simply amazing with their Explorers program. Not only do they have an amazing facility for the kids, you won't feel anxious that you're gonna get a text message to pick up your child for being unruly. I am honored to say that Higher Vision is not only my church, but it is also my second home. The staff is really loving and friendly. You can tell that they truly have the love of God in them. As soon as I walk into the building, the Holy Spirit overwhelms me. They have a café by the entrance that has some delicious coffee along with a large television to watch the service from the cafe. The worship team is awesome! Their songs always bring me to tears, but the best thing about Higher Vision church is that Pastor Jared preaches the truth. Straight from the Bible. i really love this church. It's not as big, or have as many bells and whistles as the Real Life Church. Though it is just that quality, which makes it so attractive. The Church is run the Ming family. Pastor Jared Ming makes every sermon interesting and fun. He knows exactly how, and when, to deliver a comedic line during his sermon. Somewhere a long the line he may have done standup. I think I've heard he is a grandfather -- haha. The majority of the sermons are relevant to what is happening in today's world. + it is about helping and being good to one another. The music at the beginning and the end is always entertaining. These musicians are very talented, and a pleasure to listen to. The guy I am really impressed with though is Tanner Ming. He has whatever, IT is. He is so passionate that is hard not to be enthralled with what he is saying. He'll have quite a following once he has his own Ministry. The people I have dealt with are friendly, and helpful if needed. I am not the type of person who gets overly active in a Church, but I do love taking part every Sunday morning. Today was my 2nd time visiting. I'm not from this area. I'm so blessed I went to church this morning. I went to the later service. They had a visiting speaker and his title was Is there a Hero in the House? If you can listen to it I suggest you do. I'm glad I went to church today. I'll still say that they aren't the friendliest church I've been too but I'm not from the area so I'm not here to make friends. We live in SCV and have been this church since 2015 to raise our family. It's solid doctrine and the pastor and his family are truly real deal and approachable. They teach Gods word and carry the lives of God. He is a humble man and I can continue to see his growth in the Lord yearly. It's a wonderful Diverse place to worship and learn about Christ and the practice his teachings and be edified in your God ordained gifting a to serve. The children's ministry is wonderful. I can truly call the head children's pastor Jael a true sister in the Lied and a friend. I love that woman and trust her and the staff with my kids. They also have a special needs ministry and truly accommodate kids with various challenges. My preschooler who is mildly autistic has lived attending services even with the typically developed children and they don't push him Into the special needs room . They are inclusive and accommodate and have trained professional educators at both campuses. And I love Canyon Country as well. I could consider both Pastor Anthony and Karen Doris true brothers and sisters in Christ as they are also full of live and truth and approachable. I could go on...and the Ming children are amazing and Pastor Tanner and his wife Lalani are treasures. The holy spirit lives at this church and the word is taught thru n thru. read more

The presence of God and soundness is His word dwell here. Genuine people that are pursuing the best for their community.

It's clear other people like this church but I didn't have a good experience. At first I enjoyed Pastor Jared and Pastor Randy sharing helpful "life" messages that I could use in my relationships with my husband and kids. But after awhile there was alot of messages about giving money, more and more and more. It feels like the chuch is an " Mmile wide and an inch deep" kinda place? Theres an "inside" circle and if you arent part of it (like when the "circles" aka their groups are closed) you are left out of things. Maybe its just be But Pastor Jareds style is also whats the word? Strong? He yells ALOT. And when someone yells that much it looses its affect? And when you start employing your kids and family it feels like a lot of nepostism (sp???) instesad of hiring the best people for the job. This may be a nice people for other people but my family and I will keep looking for another church. read more

I really like this church especially the pastor and his heart felt messages, I used to attend a couple of years ago when I lived in the area. All of the members are so friendly and make you feel welcomed. I especially love how they have coffee ready for you to grab to take inside with you in case you were running late and didn't have time to brew your own. This is a hard review to write because I used to love this church and its people. But over the past 18 months the church has changed. The sermons have become less relevant to life and focus on things that no longer resonate with me. My bf stopped coming with me when Pastor Jared started the whole dig deep in your pockets and the LORD will bless you stuff. Pastor Jared started focusing on the stories about people who were going through difficult financial times and donated to the church and then experienced large financial blessings. How about the people who donate to the church and don't get blessings? It makes me question the theology of what there preaching and I think its finally time to find a new church family. read more

Talk about a church that really teaches the Word; this is it. The speaking here is amazing every week. They have a high commitment to make a difference in the lives of everyone in the family. I love the saying I heard here, "A higher Vision for your family." It was very hard for us to find a church that all of wanted to go to; a church where we all felt like it was the one for us. I'm so glad we found Higher Vision. There's nothing like it. The worship is so good. Seeing my kids grow in their relationship with God is wonderful. I suppose all churches are different and, obviously, there are many people happy with this one. However, when I once attended here a few times 3 yrs ago, I found the church to be heavy on theatrics (pyrotechnics! Exploding noises and lights! "Action/lights/cameras!") and not so heavy on the focus of Christ. I usually left the service not remembering what the sermon was about but always remembering the request to "dig deeper" in our wallets to pay for new things like a children's rock climbing wall. I once got a call from them at home asking me to pledge money. The request wasn't even for missionary money. So sad, but that's just my opinion. I found a more reverent and Holy church, the paster is humble and attentive to the down trodden. Sort of like Christ would be, I guess, but what do I know?... Not so much this church.... read more

Love this place! This church body is diverse in age, race, spiritual journeys, etc. Give it 3 weeks, and you will see how your spiritual walk with God will transform. The weekly small groups are a great way to form lasting friendships (many to choose from). This is NOT a prosperity gospel church. There is a teaching on the purpose of tithing and finances about once a year or so. The offering basket gets passed while everyone is worshipping Jesus! Pastor Jared waits until the end of service to pass the offering baskets. Finances or prosperity is not the mission or end goal at this church. Nor is it the center subject of preaching. No bashing or condemnation if you can't or don't give. Just keep worshipping and move along if you don't want to give. I appreciate the pastor and his team for his passion of the word. I also appreciate how the church teaches, and ministers to others by using multiple gifts and talents among the community and youth. It's refreshing to see in a church. This church (as well as the Santa Paula branch of it) appeals too much to emotion and the materialistic. The huge stage, flashing lights, and fancy cameras contradict the messages they teach (or should teach) of humility and charity. Although I, as anyone, enjoy having free coffee and donuts, I think it's absurd to have a full coffee bar a la starbucks. There is a difference between practicality -using money to upgrade to a bigger building to fit the attendees- and extravagance- using money to buy huge screen televisions and lights and stage effects. From the several times I've went, it seems their main focus is getting donations and spending it on the building and little things to lure in newcomers. With all of the money they have for effects and the coffee bar, and asking for donations (in various ways) at the end of every service, they probably could have helped many charities instead. The pastor also uses highly charged language, and appeals to the emotions versus the logical. He only uses quotes that are relevant to his argument, versus analyzing the passages for what they are. He also has spoken against divorce, saying that it and the kids involved are evil and will spread evil. However, now a days divorce is common and often necessary, and it's ridiculous to say that everyone involved is only going to do bad. As a child of divorced parents with wonderful, sweet siblings and step siblings, it greatly upset me. Basically, this is a mega church that focuses more on riches and getting more attendees and appealing to emotion, than actually preaching the message of God, which is one of love, acceptance, and giving. Also if a church has a sign that says "Your kids will LOVE it!" I think that's a fair warning that they're just trying to get butts in the seats. read more
