So happy we were ale to come here twice before Christmas for their Miracle pop up! We got try all their seasonal drinks and loved them! The decorations were too cute. We came on a Tuesday for karaoke had so much fun. The bartender gave great suggestions and was very friendly. We had the privilege of meeting the manager who was welcoming and easy to talk to. We will definitely be back here after the Miracle pop up, but we encourage everyone to go check it out before it ends! Looking forward to being back soon! read more

I have fallen in love with this bar. Every time a new menu comes out I get very excited because I know it means a whole new set of strong and tasty drinks to try! The coloring book menu was creative and delicious, Miracle was a party and a half, and the current menu-based on emotions? Rocked it! I've tried a bunch of them and they're all wonderful but my favorite is def exhaustion (coffee coffee coffee) and lust (hello pineapple my old friend!). Every thing from the music to the art on the wall to the relaxed crowds is awesome. Even the limited bar food is awesome, who doesn't love fried ravioli??? I went to Highland Brass Co. when they first opened for a tacos and tequila-tasting event a few years ago; it's remained my favorite bar ever since. I've proceeded to recommend this place to anyone looking for a place with amazing drinks, amazing staff, and an awesome vibe. And when I say amazing drinks, I mean amazing. These guys know what they're doing. Prefer beer? Get ready to try some local favorites. And in the summer, there are Food Truck Thursdays, so mark your calendars! Waterbury isn't one of my usual haunts, but I was in the area, yelp'd "cocktail bars" and this came up. Its decorated like a Mexican place. The bartenders are friendly. My first drink was ordered off the menu- a coco/ mescal drink. It was good. For the next one the bartender asked what I wanted, said to order something not in the menu, like what 'attaboy does in NYC. I said "pisco, rum, super dry". What I got tastes like cake. Its dry, maybe not super dry. Taste is good. Ambience is nice. Waterbury crowd isn't what I'm used to, but they seem nice. Classic rock on the speakers helps. Currently its CSNY iff the Deja' Vu record. Im sitting next to the slushie machine. Yes, they do slushies! This bar is more party, but cool party than other cocktail bars. Theres art on the walls, rope lights and since I'm writing this near Halloween, there are day of the dead lanterns on the bar top. Its quiet. Im here at 7:05 pm. Had 2 drinks. I'll order a third and head out. I say "spicy, rum, shaken". Its very well made. Sweet citrus with spice tickling my lips and throat instead if intense flavor. The bartender knows his stuff. Roger is his name. He likes adding bitters to his drinks. And ghost peppers for this drink. I like this bar. Its cool, semi- hipster, but not pretentious in the least. When I'm in waterbury next time, I'll come back. Nice place with good drinks and classic rock vibes. 4.25 out of 5 stars. read more

We were pleasantly surprised walking into this place on Friday eve before Easter. The ambiance was nice. Candles and pillows and blackboard paint, little strands of lights , music, special drinks , friendly staff and customers . A good mix of age groups. Got pretty busy. For starters we had a "figetta bout it " and a "motion in the ocean" and liked them so much we decided to stay for another drink, and had "Cranky IPA" and "Dirty White Girl". My BF said the IPA was the BEST BEER he ever had. The drinks were HBC originals and were very good. We did wish they were a little larger , for the price. We did think the prices were a little high for the area. There is a blackboard with some food specials on it , but we didn't see anyone eating. It had grilled cheese and some other regular bar stuff on it . We would definitely come back! The place is comfortable and fun. The staff is nice. We will be back. There are some video games that they should consider getting rid of. read more

Let me start by saying I go out for drinks.....all the time. It's kind of a hobby of mine. I love trying new places, drinking new drinks, meeting new people...All of it. I had been hearing great buzz about Highland Brass Company in Waterbury and finally had an opportunity to visit this past weekend. HBC is super convenient, located about a mile or so off of 84. I live near Hartford and it was a super easy drive. HBC totally delivered. The cocktails were amazing and I loved the comfortable, neighborhood vibe. It's not pretentious (a nice change from West Hartford) and the jukebox played great music all night. HBC also showcases local artists and changes the art on a monthly basis---Love the commitment to local talent and art in general. Their next installment goes up on 12/8--Abstract by Kayla Ek. I started out with a "Something Good" cocktail (Vodka, Lemon, Elderflower, Creme de Violet) and it was so tasty. My friend had a Pisco Sour, and since he is from Chile, he is kind of a Pisco purist. He loved his drink. They are always having fun impromptu events at their place (Taco Tuesdays, Wino Wednesdays, etc) and you should definitely like their Facebook page to keep up on what kind of fun things they have coming up. A nice commitment to their neighborhood. I will also say that Corey and George are some of the best bartenders around. They are super talented and can mix original cocktails with the best of them, and most importantly, they are super nice and personable. They work really well together and are very funny. It was my first visit, and they were super cool and friendly. I totally dig this place, and will definitely return. I feel like I only scratched the surface of their cocktail offerings. I have a lot more to try. You will be in great hands when you visit Highland Brass Company. They are the nicest guys, mixing the best cocktails around. But don't take my seat at the bar! Visited with co workers after reading other reviews. Would definitely recommend for days when the weather is good and you can sit outside. The bartenders were great and the drinks delicious but inside is really dark. Outside seating was lovely. Would recommend parking on the side streets as parking on Highland Ave is limited. I have been here three times now. My wife and i love it. They are honestly the best drinks i have in thjs state. I am now hooked to my rum old fashion. They made wife a gin dink with fresh blackberry and raspberries. I didnt tell here what alcohol they were using because she hates gin. She loved the drink. They have rotating art in the bar which keeps things interesting. It is a great bar with better drinks. This is a place worth while for driving out of your way to get a drink read more

In my eyes, the sign of a good bartender is one that does not match my request of "make me something fun" with a profiled guess of Malibu bay breeze. Here I received an elegant drink containing gin and elderflower that was absolutely delicious. The "Dirty White Girl" was also delicious with chai and coffee flavors- nice little perk up to kick off a Friday night. These guys are friendly and talented bartenders. The atmosphere is comfortable with awesome artwork, and fits in great with the area vibe created by D'Amelios and La Tavola. Ok so before I begin explaining why everyone should come to this incredible place I have to thank a stranger named Moe. I had no idea that I had put a review up meant for this place under another restaurant in Waterbury. So thanks Moe, I don't ever mean to be a dope, I was just really really excited to get my review out about this bar and I made a mistake, happens to the best of us, I know I'm not perfect.... But HIGHLAND BRASS CO. and the bartenders/owners I met over this past weekend WERE AMAZING. Actually everything was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere, the unassuming look of the joint from the outside, Dimitri and Roger had INSANE knowledge of the types of alcohol they serve. A lot of their mixers are made in house. And if your not sure what you like you just let these Einstein bartenders know what your lookin for and they literally mix you up a personalized cocktail or martini that won't disappoint. Also by far and away the most personable, funny and attentive bartenders I've ever met, trust me I've been to a lot of bars in my life and I've never had the kind of awesome experience that stays with you long after you leave until I came to this bar. These guys are awesome this place is amazing, the overall atmosphere is just incredible. So do I recommend this place, YES, YES I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, and I wish I could have given it a 6th star, cuz if you ask me 5 isn't enough for this bar. So get it together get a group together and park your butt in any spot you can find in there... Ohh and if you like cinnamon and whiskey, get the house made cinnamon whiskey shot, BEST SHOT, Really just incredible. ITS MADE IN HOUSE OK?!?
