My usual dry cleaners recently closed their business, so I brought a few of my more expensive sweaters and a pair of work slacks here to be cleaned... and when I brought them home, I noticed all of my sweaters had shrunk (to the point where I can hardly wear it) and my pants had several small snags and loose threads. Pretty disappointed that my $300 work pants now look like they've been ravaged by a wild animal and my three $150 sweaters are now toddler size. Ugh. read more

They do good quality work with the dry cleaning. However when they messed up on my alteration, there was no apologies or try to do anything to resolve the situation. I ended up having to pay twice for an alteration. $12 turned into $60.:-( If you live in Renton Highlands, it's one of the only places up here that does alterations. read more

So after a long stint of not going to this place, i must say, i should have just stayed away. I would give 0 stars if i could. BAIT and SWITCH! i went becuase of timing and convenience- i take 2 dress shirts, mild dinge from wearing, no stains... i pick up today and go to pay, $12 for 2 dress shirts being dry cleaned. with NO CALL or warning, they said they had stains and had to dry clean more than twice to get it out. how wrong is that? i confronted the owner and all i get is next time i'll call, sorry. Umm... think again. there is NO NEXT TIME. i will find other dry cleaners more honest with better service and communication. read more

I used this cleaner for over 15 years mostly for convenience. I knew they were a little expensive but they were close by. Over the years the prices seemed to go up almost randomly. Truly frustrating was that the prices were never actually posted anywhere within the store. When I would try to ask clarifying questions about pricing on any of my orders, would seem to pretend to not hear me or not understand English. Only when I finally got upset at multiple extra charges on a large did the owner actually bother to try to speak English to me. He never once apologized for the miss-communication, he defended the extra charges that I didn't approve, and he did not offer to do anything for a long standing customer who was finally upset enough to confront him. They have a location that brings a regular clientele, they over charge all the time, they don't even try to communicate, and they clearly don't care about their customers. I've taken my business down the street to another cleaner and will never return. More than 15 years of patronage tossed aside. read more

I agree with others. When you complain, they never apologize. They miss things like sewing buttons on even when they put a clip to mark it. Finally their prices are very high-higher than an upper end cleaners I use in Beverly Hills. read more

I normally use an alteration place in Factoria, but was in a hurry and this location is very near my house, so I decided to try it. My daughter had a band dress that had to be hemmed. My other alterations have been in the $30-$50 range for taking in a dress and a wool coat. It is absolutely my own fault for not asking for an estimate up front. I just never dreamed it would be very expensive for a simple hem. (The dress is a very casual jersey type fabric...not high maintenance at all). When I went to pick it up, the price was unbelievable. $50 for the hem, and $5 for pressing that I didn't ask for. After tax it was over $60. I told the lady that I thought that was a high price... All she would tell me was, "no, good price", and she was not nice about it at all. Normally I love supporting local businesses, and will even go out of my way to do it. Ugh. I will never go there again, and hope that this review will help keep other people from making the same mistake as me. read more

I chose this location based on how close it was to my home. I absolutely love them. They always work hard. They are really good at getting out spots. Just recently, I took them in a wool blanket that I had spilled oil on. I was completely shocked at how amazing this blanket came out. Thank you highland cleaners. read more

Owners are very friendly. They somehow always get the toughest stains out of my drycleaning, and will automatically replair missing buttons even when not their fault. They have handled many of my alterations -- bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, heirloom (priceless) christening gowns, coats, pants and jeans. They always come out great and within the timeframe I requested. When I was particularly anxious about the alterations for a bridesmaide dress, they had their professional alterations person drive in to meet me and the owner directly (owner to help with translations) so everyone was super clear on expectations. She pinned me on the spot. The dress came back exactly as expected and when I expected it, and easilly 50% cheaper than going to a Alterations Shop. Extremely happy with this place. read more

Just called to ask for an estimate for dry cleaning a women's down coat, short, size small. I was told $65! I made the man repeat it because I could not believe my ears. I made two other phone calls to dry cleaners in the vicinity and got quotes of $14.00-$19.95. Beware of this business! read more

My review is based on my experience with them in regards to an alteration. I went in there one day and asked how much it would cost to replace a zipper. They originally wanted me to just drop it off without even receiving an estimate. I let them know that was not acceptable to me, at which point they informed me that it would be performed by an outside service so I waited while they called to get the price. They told me $20. A little more than an hour later, I received a call from them stating that they misquoted it and it would be $35! I told them I would pick it up as that was not what we agreed upon. They then said they could do it for $30, then $25 and finally agreed to the $20 that they originally quoted me. At this point, I was extremely frustrated. To make things worse, when I went to pick it up, of course there was an additional $4 charge for pressing the garment. When I told the clerk that I had specifically said "no pressing," he stated it was because it was so wrinkled. The garment does not wrinkle and I did not bring it in that way, so I had to be firm and I only paid $20 + tax. I will NEVER use them again; they are dishonest! read more

Don't waste your time with this dry cleaners. They have repeatedly damaged my clothes and did not mention the damaged upon check out. When I came in to ask them to see if they can fix it they told me they couldn't. I asked them why they didn't tell me about the damage before hand and the lady had nothing to say. They will ruin your clothes. Stay away! read more

Terrible! I highly encourage everyone to not visit this cleaners. I brought a shirt to this place because it has a stain. They could not get the stain out of the shirt and they still charged me $7 for the service. I will not be back. read more

Like most dry cleaners Highland Cleaners don't post their prices. When I picked up my flat drapery panels I was stunned that my bill was $20 per panel or $80 plus tax. Had I known how much it would cost I would have replaced them. I also believe the room darkening backing was damaged by the cleaning process. I won't be going back and lesson learned will be asking for prices next time I have to dry-clean something. read more

I have used this store exclusively for five years with the same positive reviews listed here. Never had a problem until today. I'm retired and don't travel so my shirts and dry cleaning are either at home or in this store. I am missing at least one shirt - a light yellow buttondown. I went there today to drop off my10 shirts and 2 slacks like I do just about every other week. When I asked if maybe there was an order I missed (not out of the realm of possiblilty) they made a cusory pass of the the receipts and said no. When I asked if we could spin the shirts on the hangers she looked at me like I wanted their money and said not her problem. Maybe I'm dumb, but my customer service background (and just to prove I was right) would have made me spin the shirts to satistfy someone who had been a customer for five years. Luckily I live in an area that has 7 other cleaners within 3 miles. Good news, I'd be 98 if each of them screws me every five years like these guys. read more
