There is almost nothing on this earth I enjoy more than Chinese food... As far as Americanized takeout Chinese goes, you will not find better than this place. Out of the dozens of places I've tried in the state, I think I would consider this place #1 for both taste AND quantity. Compared to the other places nearby this is an absolute hidden gem (part of me is hesitant to write this review because I don't want the word to get out to too many people!).. The staff is very nice, and the food is not too greasy as some other places are. But the biggest thing that sets this place apart from it's competition is the portion sizes!! Our "regular" is a quart of lo mein, an order of dumplings, and 2 combos (general tsos and beef and broccoli)--- this comes to like $35 and will feed my wife and I for like 3 meals; spending this amount at other places, you're lucky if you get any leftovers (and the food will be much worse elsewhere!) read more

Stopped here a night when my usual dining spot was closed. I decided to purchase orange chicken w/pork fried rice, crab ragoons, pan fried dumplings, and two shrimp eggrolls. The orange chicken was tasty, and the pork fried rice was good, tasted fresh. On the other hand, my three other options weren't the best. I had gotten the crab ragoons and they tasted horrid, you could taste the oil it was fried with, making me to believe they may be using the same oil to fry everything without proper oil changes. The pan fried dumplings tasted like it had been cooked all the way through, it didn't have a pleasant taste. The eggroll tasted dry and I couldn't even finish them. I'm not one to usually throw away food, but after eating have of the crab ragoons, and a poor attempt at trying to finish the dumplings, I had to throw them away. If I ever bought from here again, I'd only buy a Dinner Combo w/Pork Fried Rice. No way would I trust their appetizer/fried options again. read more

We used to love this place and would visit 2-3 times per month. They changed management and almost doubled the prices AND the quality of the food is horrible. We received burnt chicken wings and the teriyaki chicken was so dried out you could choke if you didn't sip water while eating it. We figured everyone has a bad day occasionally so waited a couple weeks and tried again. This time we received ribs on the bone which were not only burnt, the bones were also charred!!! We will NOT go back there which is a shame because it is so close. read more

My wife always gets Chinese food for her birthday and we just moved to the area. She was really hesitant to try a new Chinese restaurant, but some Google searches for best place in Waterbury led us here, which fortunately is only a couple minutes from our house. We loved our old places so tough to live up to them. Most stuff we had was decent/fair. The pan fried dumplings were excellent. The crab Rangoon was really bad - almost all crab, with minimal cream cheese. Definitely looking forward to checking out a few other items on the menu. read more

This place wasn't bad. I think for CT and the area it's probably the best you can find. I just stopped into town for a quick trip. The service is fast and bad the food was tasty. The cool thing was the signatures from all the people that have stopped in on the counter. I'm not sure if the owners planned that but it definitely adds to the "divey-ness" of the restaurant. This is by far the best Chinese food in Waterbury, hands down! Generous portions. Fresh ingredients. The general chicken has huge chunks of thigh meat not just hard crunchy dough pieces like other places. The fried rice is not artificially bright orange with msg like other places as well. The boneless spare ribs are tender and delicious not shoe leather like other places. The best egg-rolls & they're huge. The crab Rangoon are loaded with crab meat not all cream cheese like the other places too! The place is clean, the people friendly. I was terribly disappointed with my takeout order on 7/17/23. General Tso's chicken was soggy and bland, The pork fried rice bland no flavor. The Won Ton soup had these monstrous tough as shoe leather tasteless dumplings with an unappetizing looking black filling.The broth was very good.The pepper steak was dry with no gravy and again, tasteless. The hard noodles were stale. I usually go to Golden Palace and it's always great and tasty. They're not open because of a kitchen fire. I saw this place got high marks and ordered the above. Very Friendly staff, clean, and excellent food. Can't ask for more than that from a takeout place. I've eaten here 4 times and had 4 diff dishes as well as brought back food for my wife. We've been more than happy with the flavors, quality, and quantity of all our dishes. Singapore Mai Fun is bangen. My wife loved the Gen Tso. Very flavorful dumplings. Since I moved from Naugatuck to Waterbury a year ago I couldn't, for the life of me, find a good Chinese place to get my takeout. So I was driving to Naugatuck whenever myself or daughter wanted Chinese food. Then I just so happened to mention to my dad how I drive back and forth to get my Chinese. Went there for the first time because of the decent amount if stars. Either something has changed or people are lying. Crab Rangoon was doughy and you couldn't take the crab. Our go-to place for chinese take out. Food ALWAYS arrives piping hot and delicious. We usually order general Tso's, sesame beef, golden fingers, lo me in, and their hot and sour soup. My personal judgement is based upon on how delicious their hot and sour soup tastes.....awesome every time! I have been meaning to post this positive review a while ago...but never finished it.
