I've had great luck with Highland Pharmacy, and they have always been friendly and respectful. I reorder my prescription over their phone line a week before it's needed, and it's always ready when I arrive. I always greet them with a smile and I've found that I get better service when I'm patient and friendly - they respond in kind. I called today to see if my newly ordered prescription had been received, and the phone was answered almost immediately. The woman I talked to was very accommodating and said the Rx would be ready when I come to get it. Seething doesn't even begin to cover how I feel. You go to a pharmacy to get better, to feel well, not for things to be made worse. That is exactly what Highlands did- made it worse. I have an issue with my Eustachian tubes (combat vet). I needed a med compounded. Not only was the pharmacist not available to answer my questions about the medication, the counter clerk tried to placate me that "he knew but couldn't tell me." They had me waiting for 45 mins while they were just walking around. The place was empty. Then, the nasal spray they gave me for my nose came in a regular spray bottle . Using it there was ZERO control, which made the medication spray into my eye. I flooded my eye, but the dangerous compound landed me in the ER. The doctors at the ER were DUMBFOUNDED as to WHY they would release a nasal prescription in a format that was not fitted for the nose. They suggested going on Amazon and buying "proper packaging," and also suggested I write a formal complaint to the licensing board. I could go blind. Not to mention the shelves were barren, the staff was rude, and they messed up my medication. 0/10- when going somewhere for your health, choose ANY PLACE but here as they might make it worse, or even blind you. read more

This was my first time visiting this pharmacy, and it immediately gave off a warm, family-owned vibe. The staff was genuinely friendly and bilingual, which made the experience feel welcoming and easy. They also have a pretty good selection of items, which was a nice surprise. The downside is the parking--it's rough--and the drive-thru line can be long. Overall though, the customer service really stood out and made it worth the visit. read more

I want to use a local pharmacy and have stayed with this one as long as I can, but they are very frustrating to try to get prescriptions from. I'll be searching for another local pharmacy. There is an online refill request on their website, but when you put in your request there, it seems to just disappear. When I call, their automated system for checking the status of a refill always says there is no information on it. When I talk to someone they have to put the refill in over the phone again. They are not willing to listen to me about how they need to take the online refill system off their website or make a not about very long wait times when using it. As others have stated, it usually takes a long time to get through to anyone by phone. When you go to pickup a prescription, there is always a long wait- inside and at the drive-thru window, though there are never more than a handful of cars and people waiting in line. read more

ridiculous wait times for calling the pharmacy and compounding lab. the website is useless and getting any help with new medication is borderline impossible. was on hold for over an hour and was hung up on multiple times still didn't get any help and good luck trying to get in contact with the pharmacy as a new patient if you don't already know all the information about your prescription before ever getting it you are better off just going somewhere else. read more

I have had repeated issues with Highland Pharmacy losing or failing to document prescriptions. Most recently, my provider called in a refill earlier in the week, and when I followed up, the pharmacy stated they had no record at all of the prescription. This is not the first time this has happened. When I asked for escalation, the pharmacist I spoke with was unprofessional and rude, offering attitude instead of solutions. I had to demand that my prescription be filled, despite the fact that this delay was due to their internal process failure. To make matters worse, I then waited over 30 minutes in the drive-thru for my medication with no communication or update. Delays, lack of accountability, poor communication, and unprofessional behavior are not acceptable -- especially when patients are relying on time-sensitive medications. I would not recommend this pharmacy based on my repeated experiences. read more

I find communication difficult. They do not respond promptly. The app appears to work but I am no longer able to find it on Google play. Also, I get very little beyond the automatic response when I utilize its refill option. Currently I am out of a medication ( I requested refill over a week ago ) so I am very frustrated. read more

Gave one star because it is required, but I would not give 0 star rating, I was on the phone for 20 minutes and no one came on the line, at the end gave a message to text them and call dropped, another pharmacy called 4 times to have the prescription transferred due to the local pharmacy closed for 2 days and needed my prescription, they were not able to get thru to them. read more

Horribly pharmacy. ALWAYS makes mistakes in filling prescriptions. Minimum of 30 min wait time to reach customer service and then, the system usually ends up disconnecting you before you can talk to anyone, so you go back into the 30 min wait line. They fill the wrong amount. Ship it (and charge you $55!) when you tell them you'll pick it up. Or when you do ask to have it shipped, then hold it on the shelf for weeks, (never calling to tell you it's there). They can't get anything right. Makes we wonder about the quality of the products they're dispensing. read more

Avoid at all costs. All the other reviews are true. They will lose your order, if you call you will wait on hold for half and hour only to have the automated system hang up on you and they all know about this. I've spoken to the owner and he has done nothing. Luckily, I've never dealt with rude people there. Everyone I've dealt with has been very nice.....about losing my order and not being able to get through. Though they do try and pass the buck. They just do not care. It's awfully frustrating. My CNP as a health provider did not recommend this pharmacy due to problems connecting with staff there to consult about her patients. She suggests I go to Menaul Pharmacy, also a compounding pharmacy. Usually I have no success getting hold of them unless I go in in person to talk to staff, and it takes much patience. I have a long history using this pharmacy and it has, unfortunately, gone downhill. A google search (AI which actually was helpful) did state that it is a nationwide problem (understaffing and other problems). High turnover and lack of good training here are mentioned. But the "noise" while waiting for someone to pick up phone advertises how awesome the pharmacists are. I did eventually get hung up on before anyone answered. read more

Highland is the only pharmacy in New Mexico, last I looked, that creates custom compounded hormone gels, which are a underutilized solution for a wide range of health issues. The pharmacy's service is excellent -- sure, sometimes you have to wait on the phone but this morning Highland picked up immediately and Walgreens had me on hold for 15 minutes. That's life. And ALWAYS the people at Highland are courteous, professional and efficient -- they always solve my prescription problems and get it right. Plus, being the only compounding pharmacy in the state, they ship if needed. Highly recommended. (Besides, I like supporting companies that aren't mega-huge corporations.) Worst customer service on the planet! It has taken 4 calls to refill my RX in the past month. Can not rely on their phone system to put your RX # into the system. If you try to speak to a live person you will grow old wairing or be hung up on. read more

If you're going to be short staffed and have over 1 hour wait times to pick up a prescription, at the very least have great customer service, but this place doesn't even have that! Too bad I can't give no stars. Highland was my my pharmacy for 25 years, then they were bought out by someone in Texas. It went down hill quickly! Fast forward to now, I tried to pick up a prescription. I was the only customer in the store. After standing there for 10 minutes, I finally asked if anyone could help me. Lawrence came to help me and was great. The next month, trying to get a refill, the automated system wouldn't work, the online system wouldn't work. I had to call and order it. The next month, I called it in, and when I hadn't heard anything a week and a half later, I called to see if it was ready. I was told that it had not been ordered. I complained and was asked repeatedly who I talked to, which I of course I don't remember. I asked to talk to the manager, who asked me the same questions and said he would text me to let me know when it would be available. 4 days later, nothing. They are completely disorganized and inept. Go to Menaul or Vintage, as they are great! read more

I thought, 'Wouldn't it be nice to try and support local business instead of getting my prescriptions from Walgreens or CVS' I guess I picked the wrong pharmacy to do this... I have attempted numerous times to pick up prescriptions that had been submitted to this pharmacy for over a month. I have received emails and text messages stating my medications are ready. Each week, sometimes twice a week, I attempt to pick them up just for them to say 'I'm so sorry, it's actually not ready -it will be ready next week.' They have even told me that my provider had sent in one of my prescriptions incorrectly -Although I have confirmed with my provider twice, that yes indeed, they sent over the correct scripts. Don't waste your time here, just go somewhere else, anywhere else, maybe Walgreens wasn't so bad? This pharmacy is not what it used to be and obviously not run by the same people that it was years ago, so sad for small business. read more

This is a terrible pharmacy--they loose prescription requests, give you conflicting information about how many days until your compounding prescription will be ready (first did not register reordered prescription, then told 24-48 hours, then told 3-5 business days), and generally are incapable of doing their job correctly. I highly recommend that if you care about getting your prescription filled properly and promptly, you find another pharmacy to do it. read more

There is literally no way to contact them, and as a compounding pharmacy, it's not just wildly unprofessional, it can be dangerous. This has been now and in the past, a horrible experience, Phone refill system is ineffective, resulting in me doing without my meds, I even emailed them to get medication filled, Medication was due to be refilled on the 3rd I am not getting it until the 23 rd. The people are pretty nice here, but the service is horrendous in terms of how long they make you wait. Their phone system is a complete joke. I've spent a half hour in it on more than one occasion. The employees seem to care but their actions tell you they don't. I called in once with some questions. The person "put me on hold" and instead hung up on me. So I had to go right back through the queue again. It's important to me to support local businesses and not always national chains. Highland, I WANT to support you, but you need to get your act together!! You are losing me as a customer right now. Sad. I'm not even sure you deserve 2 stars. read more
