I had a very sick cockatiel. I live about 50 miles away. I called them and made me the first patient for the "bird" doctor. Staff and dr was amazing. So far my feather baby is getting better. I have found a permanent vet for my 2 cockatiels. I was advised on how to properly clip their wings and what food to feed them. Birds can't live on the bird seed from the store. They need pellets to keep them healthy. When my husband and I took our baby home, we were well educated on the proper way to take care of our birds. absolutely Horrible! We took our 7 month old Bernese puppy there because he had Some diherrea! Dr Alfonzo saw our Baby after we waited over 2 hours our appt time was not kept! we had been going over 20 years! dr Alfonzo prescribe our puppy Trazdone 100 mg and pro pectalin tablets 3 times a day!and a Rabies shot! The next day he was sluggish! and started vomiting then Dr alfozo started himgave a Cerenia shot 60 mg and tablet 1 a day for 4 days then the following day I was calling then left and right because my baby sick as a dog he stopped eating and drinking and died on the 5 th of Aug after me calling asking for help what can I do! The receptions said bring i could bring him in for IVs fluids then the final nail was giving him metroadaolzev250 mg for a 65 pound puppy that started sever watery diherrea foul smelling when they gave him a fecal exams we paid for it and he said he was all clear he score 5 on the medical chart z, Our baby died and suffered terrible lay before he died he died on the 5 th of Aug he had sezuries heavy breathing this went on for hours he died before we could get him to another vet hospital! please do not take your dog or cat to them! read more

This was not our usual vet. It was a very difficult visit with difficult decisions to make, & our usual vet was closed due to the holiday. I greatly appreciate Highland working us in the same day since we weren't established patients. The receptionist was very kind & supportive. When we arrived were very visibly upset about our pet who had been in our family 17+ years. She had been declining but took a quick turn for the worse & was in obvious pain & distress. Her condition (heart) was not fixable (according to our vet.) The clinical staff at Highland was ok, but didn't really seem to recognize our distress. Our vet tech was very nice but so upbeat for what we were going through. He may have truly been trying to make the best out of a difficult situation. But it was so traumatic when they took our pet right outside the exam room to start an IV, and we could hear her screaming out in pain. Taking her out of our earshot would have been considerate, or perhaps even giving her an oral sedative to make it less painful for her. I would have gladly paid for anything to make her last moments easier. When the vet came in he didn't introduce himself, and didn't offer any words or support or reassurance regarding the very difficult decision we had made. A tiny expression of sympathy would have meant so much to us in our distress. The only words he said were to ask me to move out of his way so he could get to our beloved pet. His facial expression was grouchy. He then left without another word. It was traumatic for our entire family. This may truly be an excellent vet clinic, & maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but based on our experience I would not recommend them for end of life decisions for a beloved pet. Our personal vet has a candle that they light so that those in the waiting area are quiet & respectful of a family who is losing their pet...a member of their family. Our vet also has a separate exit so that the family can leave with privacy. These small things would have meant a lot to us. Again, I greatly appreciate Highland working us in, but a few simple things could have made our experience, and our pet's passing, more peaceful. read more

Used this vet once before for bladder stone removal. They scanned him again and said there was a tumor that also needed to be removed. Turns out it was just scar tissue FROM THEIR PREVIOUS SURGERY and they cut my cat open for nothing. On top of that, no antibiotics or pain meds post surgery. Don't bring your babies here. read more

The worst experience we've ever had with a vet. The doctor clearly dislikes people and is sick of dealing with patients and owners. He needs to retire. He doesn't explain your pet's condition and when we asked questions when he said he couldn't treat our pet he screamed "It's cancer" and abruptly walked out. It was such a shock when we thought she had a tooth issue and was relatively young for a cat. We found a new vet immediately and collected our records. read more

Took my dog there for horribly painful bowel movements and my dog refusing to eat hard food, despite her having all her teeth. They charged me over $300 for them to tell me they don't know why she's having painful BMs. They didn't provide me with any answers or a course of treatment, and when I asked them to look at her teeth they told me they couldn't do that either. They also botched neutering my other dog, very crudely stapling her shut with no carefulness. Don't bring your pets here. There's plenty of other good vets I the area. The Princeton Veterinary Hospital, which I highly recommend, takes walk-ins. read more

I had a terrible experience with this vet and would highly recommend looking for another option for your pet. I have a 15 year old cat with quite a few health problems. She has severe arthritis and IVDD. Recently she developed a sore in between her back toes and when I took her in to visit with Dr. Gormley, he looked at it for under a minute and said it was an ulcer and promptly left the room without any explanation. They gave her a steroid shot to try and clear it up. This did not clear it. They told me to schedule a 2 week follow up appointment (which I was not able to schedule at the end of the appointment because there was no note in the system saying that a follow up appointment was needed) so I called back and made an appointment when her foot wasn't getting better. And because the follow up appointment wasn't scheduled at her previous appointment, I was charged for an emergency visit. At her follow up the vet came in and once again looked at her toe and said "it's up to her to decide what we do" and slammed the door and walked out. The vet tech asked what I wanted to do without giving any information on what my options were. A new tech and the vet came in once again and said we'll have to schedule a time to remove the tumor that was on her foot. A tumor was never mentioned to me before and now all of a sudden they are talking about removing it. That was all the information I received. We're standing in line to check out and the tech told us she would have to have her toes amputated. Without any other options or trying anything else. This entire appointment took under 7 minutes. After we left I got a second opinion on her foot because I was very concerned that I had no information and wanted to see if it was safe to put a 15 year old cat under. I took her to Chateau and they were amazing and evaluated her foot and gave her a fungal cream to put on the sore for 2 weeks. That cleared it up right away. All she had was a fungal infection on her toes and the terrible vets at Highland Veterinary Clinic wanted to put an elderly cat under and amputate her toes because they were too lazy to consider other options. When she was diagnosed with the Intervertebral disc disease we weren't even told during the appointment and were given no information. They are always so rough with her and she limps for a bit after being in their care. Quite a few times they'd take her in the back to give her an injection to help with pain and she'd come back with broken whiskers. On top of this, they are extremely unorganized and never remember what medicine they've prescribed for her or the dosage. When we went in for her follow up they didn't even know what they did at the previous appointment to try and treat it? That seems extremely unprofessional to me. Now that I have her medical records I can see that I was definitely charged for the steroid shot but I do not see it anywhere on her records so that could explain why they wouldn't remember what they did but also that makes me question if she even received the initial steroid shot. If it wasn't for the shortage in vets I would've never taken her back to this place but they were the only place I could get her in. I've had a bad feeling about this vet from the beginning and now I'm questioning all of the care she's received from them and I can see why they have openings. Dr. Gromley is very rude. No compassion for your pet. I brought my dog in for an examination and he barely looked at her. I asked if there was anything to do for her incontinence and he said "clean it up I guess." Extremely rude, walked out of the room as I was trying to talk to him. I was charged $65 for an examination but he barely looked at her. I had several concerns but he didn't care and wouldn't hardly talk to me. Twice the vet tech went to get him so I could finish asking about my dog's issues. Took her to another vet and there were several things the other vet saw that Dr. Gromley didn't even address. took my pomeranian there to have them look at her feet. she had been chewing on them and had sores. The vet walked in and told me she had an allergy to chicken and left the room. i I was not told anything else and had to pay $100. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE. THE NET IS TERRIBLE AND NEEDS TO RETIRE. The worst vet I have ever been too. My dog was sick and had to stay with them for a week. They promised daily updates and even text message photos. They did not give daily updates or send any photos. They would get angry when I would call and ask for an update. Greg Gormely the main vet is a complete asshole and does not know how to talk to people, or explain in a way that you understand. The vet techs are rude and talk down when to you when you don't understand something. They are all horrible people, and I would not recommend anyone take their pets to them. They are an absolutely pathetic excuse for a good vet. Do yourself a favor and take your pets anywhere else. read more

Went in due my cat having a lump on her neck and a dilated pupil in one eye. They proceeded to run blood work which came back normal. Then reccomended we get her a head x-ray to see what was going on. Later we get a call that she has an inoperable tumor in the back of her mouth and neck. Upon discharge they tell us the total is $500+. They charged us $500+ to tell us there's nothing they can do and that our cat will be dead within the next few months. At no point during our appointment did they indicate the exorbitant costs and or likelihood of inoperability. Had we known this, which they likely could've seen by looking into her mouth, without an x-ray, we wouldn't have consented to those unnecessary tests. It truly seems they took advantage of our ignorance and desperation in order to run as many tests as possible and charge us the most money. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate of our situation. No regard for our financial situation or our cats health. read more
