Although I had already checked in via the app, I stopped by the front desk to pick up a physical key, which I usually do as a backup. As someone relatively new to Hilton Garden Inn, I asked whether any complimentary upgrades were available. The response I received, something about water in the room, was a bit confusing and didn't clearly address the question. Later, when we left the room with recyclable bottles, I asked the same front desk staff member about recycling options. Again, the response was unclear and I was directed toward a water fountain, which didn't answer the question. I shared this experience with the general manager, Veronica, who was receptive and professional. She explained that the property does not have recycling options and said she would address this with management and use the situation as a coaching opportunity to improve staff communication and customer engagement. The room itself was fine and met expectations, with no major issues. It's also worth noting that the hotel does not have suites--only standard and accessible rooms--so upgrades should not be expected, as confirmed by the general manager. Overall, a decent stay, and I appreciate management's willingness to listen and improve. Hopefully, communication will be smoother on future visits.

On my trip to the Baytown area, I chose this hotel as it was a newer hotel and the price was comparable to other similar hotels in the area. The rooms at Home2 Suites are large and roomy and come with all the amenities you need for one or more nights. The rooms have a kitchenette, plenty of space for your bags, enough room for a Yoga mat, large and comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. I also chose this hotel for the gym as it has modern gym equipment and a variety of equipment. The lobby is large and bright and has many areas to work and play for large groups and individuals. The Breakfast has many options incl, including hot and cold food and a selection of fresh fruits. Overall a very good, affordable hotel in the Baytown area.

We booked the room through a third party app and requested one king size bed, non-smoking, pet friendly for 2 adults. When I checked in I was asked if I had pets, I said I had two small dogs and paid the additional $15 dollars for having dogs. That must've triggered them to change our room because we then got what I imagine was a "pet friendly" room. But it was more like an abandoned room. The entire place smelled like an ash tray. It had to have been a smoking room despite the "no smoking" sign outside. Everything, the walls, the beds, curtains, furniture, shower curtain smelled like cigarette smoke. And it wasn't the smell you get used to after about 30 minutes, it penetrated your nostrils and lingered. We then start looking around and there's gunk on the walls, stains on the corners of the room, mold on lamp shades, drywall chunks missing, trash under the beds, cigarette burns on all the bedding and what looked like dry blood on the comforter. The damage to the walls and stains on the lower portions of the walls must've come from previous dogs that I'm sure stayed there and were left unattended. But everything else, it was from lack of caring for the cleanliness of this room. I've attached photos of everything I could capture. Needless to say, I feel robbed of $85 dollars. We would've been better off sleeping in our car. When my spouse let the front desk know the room was filthy, they said they would let the room service personnel know, but at this point the room just needs to be burned down. The ONE positive note is we left there without bed bugs. Gotta look at the bright side. Stay away from this place if you can. This isn't a hotel, or a motel for that matter.

The bathroom was def outdated and didn't have a fan, so it was like a sauna in there when showering. made it hard to breathe. We hoped to get fresh towels the next day, but the cleaning service never came. We asked for more towels and they only had one shower towel left. The next day we asked for the cleaning service, but for some reason when we arrived later, there were mini ants all over the bedside table. We didn't leave food or drink out, so that was weird and gross. The outdoor space was also being renovated, so there were unfinished projects all over, which were unsightly, but the pool was nice. The lobby has a weird old musty smell to it. The hot breakfast was clutch. They had the same stuff everyday, but appreciated that they provided a nice, hearty breakfast. The daily options were-eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, grits, 3 cereal options, bagels, toast, and waffles and the quality was ok. Again, appreciated the hot breakfast, a rarity nowadays. We got a drink ticket for Brewsky's, which was good for domestic beer, they didn't have any other beer options, and I don't like pilsners, so didn't use the ticket. Got a drink and realized after taking a few sips, there was a bug in it. The whole place has an old, grandma's basement type of feel and smell. We played pool for $1. They had other games, like darts and a punching game. It's looks like they are more lively Thursday on, but I was surprised that there was a decent amount of people at the bar for a Tuesday. Mike at the front desk was very friendly. I was concerned when first checking in as there was someone there who had a major fight with her boyfriend and ran away from him. I didn't know what kind of place this was, but Mike assured me there was security there and gates closed at 2am. Being an extended stay, there were people who seemed like they lived there, hanging outside smoking all day, but overall felt safe.

This time, we tried Candlewood Suites because it is closer to my dad's home and we don't have to fight the one lane traffic on Garth road all the way to I-10. This place is amazing! There is a full sized refrigerator, cook top, dishwasher, garbage disposal, pool, and free laundry! While there are no ice machines, the refrigerator in your room has an ice maker!!!! There are a couple of outdoor gas grills with seating areas and an outdoor pool. We have decided that this is our go to hotel from now on! All of the front desk people were cheery and courteous especially Cel Osorio! She was fantastic. Can't wait to come back.

Broken vechocles in spot, shabby and moldy trailers. My neighbor had cig butts everywhere, locals use the laundry room in the park like a laundry mat. Laundry room is shabby mix matched machines and unventilated. Highest prices for everything and the worst quality that I've come across.

The cabinet that holds the microwave/ fridge and TV, the drawers kept sliding open. For me to be safe and not run into it I put the mini tea bags on between the top of the drawer and it stopped sliding open. The weirdest thing is that I found a pair of men underwear behind the bathroom door. Also, I had to hit two little black bugs on the wall. Now the good thing is the staff was very nice, greeted well and apologized for the issues.
