I was panicking thinking I'd have to go way out of my way and be even later to the lake than I was to begin with. But my boyfriend saved the day because he said just stop at Fisherman's. I said "what's Fisherman's." Lol. He told me where it was and immediately I knew WHERE it was but I had never, EVER seen it. Thankfully it was SO easy to find the tanks (albeit I bought butane vs propane...and had to go back to exchange it) and I was in and out. As I said I bought the WRONG tanks. But it was SO easy to go back and exchange them! I even saved a few dollars since the ones I needed were less! I'll definitely be going to Fisherman's for camping needs going forward! Their pricing is close to the big online retailers OR equal. And the employees were friendly and made my shopping and return experience easy.

I had such a terrible experience with the last firearm purchase that I finally said "to hell with it just give me a refund". At this point I would rather spend the money at Cabela's/Bass Pro. The manager back there, Jeff, treats you like an absolute burden. Instead of applying customer service and working to help you, he's dismissive, arrogant and ridiculously rude. He's still waiting for his FFL to be approved before he can purchase stock and open for business. No idea how long that will take other than the fact that in recent weeks the backlog of background checks has been completely insane. The shop can be a little difficult to find. It's in the boonies a few miles from Forest Grove. It's been there since the 1950's so all the locals and serious enthusiasts know where it is. I did find the items much cheaper online and when I sent sportsman's the proof, they would not beat the prices and changed their story yet another time. I would also like to add the sportsman's credit card charges 33% interest and they charge $3.50 per month if you choose not to go paperless. Sportsman's charges higher prices if you order through them online. Their in store prices are cheaper, so when sportsman's offers you a discount ( online only) your not getting a discount. They raise the prices online then offer consumers who open a card a discount. I've gone into the sportsman's store in Bend Oregon looked at a safe with a sign saying on sale with the original price of .99 cents higher than the sale price. Honestly just stay away from sportsman's and save money.

I even consulted them on what scope to buy and hardware. Finally got my rifle and all my mounting supplies together to come in and get the scope on my new gun. I was told they were too busy today to do it and asked when would be a good time to bring it in. The girl at the front counter called back and then informed me after the measure 114 scare is over. I told her that's not what they said last week when I picked my rifle up and that they were doing a scope mount at that time. she just apologized and here I am with a rifle with no fixed sites and no scope mounted on it either. Although I have bought many times from this place in the past the service just continues to decline. I'll take my business and money somewhere else in the future.
