Sportsman's advertises a price match guarantee, however the guarantee is that they don't price match. I was told by their customer service if I find a cheaper price online they would match it. I did find the items much cheaper online and when I sent sportsman's the proof, they would not beat the prices and changed their story yet another time. I would also like to add the sportsman's credit card charges 33% interest and they charge $3.50 per month if you choose not to go paperless. Sportsman's charges higher prices if you order through them online. Their in store prices are cheaper, so when sportsman's offers you a discount ( online only) your not getting a discount. They raise the prices online then offer consumers who open a card a discount. I've gone into the sportsman's store in Bend Oregon looked at a safe with a sign saying on sale with the original price of .99 cents higher than the sale price. Honestly just stay away from sportsman's and save money. read more

I recently purchased a Walther pistol fm sportmans in Albany oregon. The gun was defective and would not fire. I drove back to the store Which is approx 1hr away and attempted to exchange for a usable weapon. I was then advised of their non return policy. They took possession of the gun and was told they would send it back to Walther for repairs which would take up to 6 weeks. They now have my money, my gun, and i only have thier word of a possible 6 week return. I was also advised that because the purchase was less than 30 days old I would not be charged the normal 50 dollar shipping fee both ways. After 3 days of attempting to reach the store Mgr, he stated that was their store policy, and he would not offer any alternative. He made it extremely clear that he could not care less about the situation. I called their home office in !Utah and was advised they would not override the store policy. A bbb inquiry revealed the company has over 130 complaints and is rated fff. I post this review in hopes a future customer will be able to avoid this type of customer service. read more

I have always loved Sportsman's Warehouse and shopped with them for years. I happily ordered a particular type of propane hose from them. Upon receiving the hose, I found that it had been improperly described in the description provided. It wouldn't work for me. No big deal, right? SW has always been good to deal with! Until now. I called the online customer service number and my wonderful experience went plum to hell. I thought I would simply explain the issue, receive an RA number, repack the item and send it back. Simple! Ha! Customer service man sees my order and tells me that I'm incorrect about it being the wrong item. Ok, well it's not rocket science, the threads are wrong and the upc is off by two numbers. He proceeds to tell me I'm wrong, nicely, but he's telling me that I'm wrong about the $35.00 hose. I'm not wrong. I am required to send him three different pictures of the packaging it was received in and front and back photos of the packaged item itself! Once he was happy that I could PROVE MYSELF, I was given permission to return the item. I had to pay my own shipping fee for the return. How long will it take to process the return? Could be a month. I'm totally taken aback by this process for returns. I guess SW has gone way down in their customer service and support. Twenty plus years a customer, never again. read more

Not such a good visit but they do have some good stock on the shelf. The limit the purchase of hunting supplies and I had to go back in to pick up an unrelated product. The checker, that was neutral at best, for the first visit must have saw me go to a different line and there were only 2. She came up behind me and said: Hey did you just come through my line and purchase your limit of items. I said yes, but please relax I am purchasing unrelated items. She just turned around and went back to her cash register. While I appreciate her energetic desire to follow rules, she may get a much better reaction by starting the discussion with a more polite opening, and thus the lower rating in my mind. To make it more complex, the gentleman that helped me was very pleasant and handled the situation with a calm and professional demeanor. So I'll settle on 3 stars. read more

Sportsman's Warehouse can go f**k themselves. Seriously. I'll try to make this short but it probably won't be. This happened a couple weeks ago. I was visiting from out of state to see my family in Albany. My mom has wanted a gun for a while now with all the civil unrest going on. I went in with her to pick out a gun. We picked one out, and all the stupid chick that was helping us did was suggest OTHER guns that were smaller, that she though my mom could handle. We told her that my whole family had guns and would TRAIN her to use the gun WE picked out. She wouldn't stop. It got really annoying considering we had basically already picked out the style we wanted weeks ahead of time, but she kept questioning us. When we finally put our foot down and told the f'ing noob we wanted the gun we picked out, they took my moms ID to do a background check. Then some other stupid ass blonde chick came out from the back and simply told us they couldn't sell my mom ANY gun, not because of her background check (cuz she is squeaky clean) but because they want to make sure it's in the right hands??? They basically wouldn't sell her a gun because I was with her and they though it would be mine apparently. Lol. That's the most asinine thing I'd ever heard. That's not your f'ing job you morons. That stupid ass chick wouldn't even look at me. I've dealt with enough idiots in my life to know that arguing with these people was useless. So we walked out without argument. We wanted her to have THAT gun (which was a 9mm) and not some measly 22, because a 22 doesn't do much damage if you're attacked. They wanted her to buy a 22 because she was a bit older. My moms tough and would have figured it out. So you basically DISCRIMINATED against her. So what did we do?.....we've told everyone we possibly could in Albany, and considering my family's lived there for their whole lives (60+ years), they know a few people. So whether you think that'll affect you or not...it will. Whether you "see" the affect or not. It WILL affect you. Sooner or later. So what did we do? Ran down the road to Coastal and got an even better gun and spent MORE money on it. THEY were professionals and they sold us the gun my mom WANTED. Shut your business down you turds. Any shop where I live out of state would have simply sold her the gun. My mom is sooo squeaky clean too btw. Nothing is on her record. What a failure on your part. My whole family hunts too and they will NOT be going back to your loser store for any camping supply's, hunting supply's and especially GUNS. Oh and you definitely need to fire those two idiot girls who helped us. They were condescending and didn't do their job. You sell guns. You don't JUDGE people and ASSUME things. unethical Made an online purchase for in-store pick up around Nov. 20. After a few weeks of no update online and even went into the store a few times to check to make sure my order was not received. Decided to cancel and buy at another online store that will not try to deceive me. Canceled my order as it said still PENDING SHIPMENT and also called the store the same day to double-check. I receive an email two days later that my order was ready for pick up. The chargeback was already in process. Now since it has been over a week, need to file a dispute with my credit card. read more

I really wanted the inflatable SUP board that was on sale but they didn't have one in stock at the Portland store and it couldn't be shipped online. Portland had great customer service when I went in too. Albany had it shipped that day and it arrived at my house the next day! Shipping price wasn't bad at all either. Think "Cabela's" but no-frills. No cafe', no extras. All of the employees were super helpful. The prices on items seemed to be lower than the competition. Ultimately just didn't have what I was looking for, which could be attributed to last-minute Christmas shoppers like myself. The employees were aware of the COVID regulations and seemed to be addressing them appropriately. I shall return during the non-holiday season! read more

This is one of the smaller ones I have been in. They are lacking in the clothing department but that is probably due to size. Was looking for some Black Friday sales and didn't see to many options. Their gun counter is pretty good and they had some good deals on some XDs. They do have some shotgun rounds that are harder to find in other stores. They are the only place I can find non steel 6 shot for a 20 gauge and its reasonably priced which is rare for ammo nowadays. read more

The way they assist customers at the gun counter is broken because everyone obviously wants commission so people with previous purchase suffer long waits for a couple of minutes help. when you have a paying customer in front of you don't answer the phone and stay on for 20 minutes. Delegate responsibilities so all customers get helped in a reasonable amount of time. I've been ignored by employees who pretend to be doing something else until other employee finally helps me and they are suddenly available for the guy who didn't carry a gun case to the counter but wanted to make a purchase. We went to go look at a gun tonight and upon reaching the gun case we were looked at by two different workers a little blond girl and a large tattooed guy who could clearly see we wanted to see something. We continued to stand there at least 7 minutes until the guy came up very unfriendly like and handed us the gun we wanted to look at, when my husband asked him a question rather than answer him he ignored him and started talking to some other customer who was already being help by a different worker thanks to the horrible customer service not only did they lose a potential sale but also lost a customer. read more

I'm a female and I went to look at hunting rifles with my daughter for a gift for my husband. We were there 25 minutes at the counter and not one of the 4 people working at the counter stopped to ask if we needed help or anything. They glanced up as we awkwardly leaned over the counter trying to see prices and didn't say a word, we circled the store a few more times and came back to the counter and still nothing even when we tried to flag them down, just ignored. Worst customer service experience I have had in a long time! Long story short, I needed to buy supplies for an out of state hunting trip. I traveled roughly 68 miles to be at Sportsman Warehouse opposed to Cabela's in Eugene. They had the items in stock that I needed and on sale, score! However, the service was poor and the discounts published in advertisements and on the shelf would not ring up correctly. This is where the problems began. The employees had me travel back and forth to take photos of the advertisements published on the shelf. Odd, but with COVID-19 who knows, and I did as asked. When done they still refused to honor the price. Then after a debate, they asked that I decide between military discount or price match or prove the sale price. How is that my job, then the employees removed the price tags and said they were no longer valid. Worst service experience I have ever had. Store ended up loosing out on a rather large sale due to there service and I only purchased one item not in stock elsewhere. read more

Just got home from the Hillsboro store. My son has spent over 2 grand there the last couple of months, the latest a 1500 dollar hunting rifle. Not in stock so online for store delivery. Waited the 10 days for it to be delivered, got the notice it was there and went to start the background check. When the rifle was brought out, the box had been destroyed by forklift blades. So had to send it back and have another one shipped, was delivered another 10 days later, went in, started the background check and told 2 weeks. 2 weeks later, no notice from them back ground was complete, decided to call, tried calling all evening but their phones were out. Finally at 8 got through, told background was done and we drove the several miles to get the rifle. 8:45, employee told us not enough time to do paper work because they were closing in 15 minutes. Come back tomorrow. What paperwork? Already did paperwork and passed the background check. I myself would already never buy from them from the couple of things I bought before. Now my son finally understands, will NEVER buy from sportsman's again. read more

Love this store and shop there weekly. Would give it 5 stars but something about the gun counter makes everyone behind it a dick. Many times have waited to look at a few different guns and still to this day have never been helped, been noticed but not helped. I hate buying 1/4" tubing there because it's in the gun department and they're too good to help me, so I always have to go find somebody in fishing to get it for me. Other than the gun department the store is awesome, everybody wanting to help you, almost to the point it's annoying, but not quite. I still cannot believe it. 5 Stars - staff was very good, but for the gun sight 5 Stars - check out was easy and smooth 2 Stars - they did not have a Browning magazine I needed in their inventory even though they are a Browning distributor 5 Stars - filling out paperwork went smoothly. Very professional. I gave 2 Stars for costing me 2 weeks of lost shooting time due to the sight. Nice store over all with tons of gear. Just triple check to make sure your product actually has on it what you might normally expect to be on it. It sure seemed to have a front sight when I was first looking at it...after that I never looked at it until I got home. read more

I called the gun department over at the Albany Sportsman's Warehouse to see what shotgun primers they usually have in stock. I live out of town so it's a bit out of the way for me to window-shop. From the beginning, I clearly, specifically said that I was NOT interested in the muzzleloading primers.......JUST SHOTGUN 209's. He went to check, and came back telling me they had primers but he didn't know what kind they were. I repeated that I needed to know about the REGULAR shotgun primers.......NOT muzzleloader primers. He went to check again, and told me all he had was one brand of primer, and that it was a muzzleloader primer. I again told him I needed him to check for the shotgun 209 primers that they usually carry in stock, and not the muzzleloader ones. He replied that they didn't have anything else. So I said "you are telling me that you carry primers 209 primers for muzzleloaders, but you don't carry any 209 primers for shotguns (shotguns are what 209 primers are actually for)?" to which he replied "those are on another isle, and I don't have time to go over there right now". I said "you are telling me you don't have time to help me?" to which he replied "yes". Told him I would remember that.....he smartly replied "OK". I hung up, and called customer service to speak to a manager about this gun section employee. She told me that there where several gun section employees, and that it was probably a misunderstanding. I insisted there was not, and that the employee was intentionally being deceptive. She didn't sound like she believed there was any issue, and gave me the impression she couldn't wait to get off the phone, and go home (I called just past lunchtime). She finally told me she would speak to the gun department staff about it at the very end of the call after my insistence, but I have my doubts. I was civil the whole call, and was researching what components were available to me in my area before purchasing a whole bunch of muzzleloader equipment (I have none at the moment). That store is the only one around that carries the muzzleloader I want......I will now mail-order it from across the country along with all the other gear I will need for it (at least $800 of stuff).
