I chose a S&W Shield Plus 9mm 13 rounds clip, 6 Mags w/case. Value~I know for a fact when I am ready to get another firearm I know exactly where to go. This particular shop has been there for decades but, the new owners have been there for 12 years. I would highly recommend this gun store they make you feel like family. NW Armory Tigard was my go to shop for a quarter century going back to 1998 when it was Gunbroker and owned by Royd. Steve has always been the face of that shop to me back then to today and has always been very helpful. I could always expect fair prices and good service. Now they just have good service and I find less of a reason to shop there these days. I mainly buy used guns and post covid they seem to have changed how they price their guns. Their used guns prices are near, equal to, and sometimes more than new gun prices at other shops including NW Armory Milwaukie who has different owners. Their gun prices remind me of Cabelas/Basspro now, it's that bad, which is too bad. Now I may go there to look but usually do my purchasing at NW Armory Milwaukie who still has good service AND Pricing, Oregon Rifleworks, Highline Guns in Newberg, or Online at Gunbroker where guns are often still less expensive even with shipping and a $35 FFL transfer fee. I've patronized this store a few times over the past many years. The location isn't especially handy for me but they do have quite a plentiful stock considering how small the store is. First class advice which they dispense in a friendly, helpful, non-condescending way. Most of their stock is high quality. Some is very high quality. If you're not taken with the big box stores this shop could be for you. It is 99% guns and ammunition. Stopped by again this weekend. Due to the scamdemic and the small size of the shop they are only letting 4 people inside at a time. Given that guns are selling like toilet paper due to the "social unrest" around here, you can expect to be in line outside for quite a while before you get inside to actually talk to someone. For information purposes, my background check queue number was almost 1,800... so expect to have to wait a few days to actually get your hands on any firearms you might purchase. This shop is probably my favorite little gun store although I purchase most of my consumables at the big box places. read more

Not ever again. I've been in this store a total of 4 times and have purchased a gun 2 of the 4 times. I really wanted this to be my favorite store. although there are two females that seemed to have worked here quite a long time and are very unpleasant to work with. Their customer service is not only uninviting but plain out mean. The older one of the two ....well honestly, if I can't say anything nice then I wont at all, so I wont explain anymore on that. I find this to be extremely unfortunate as with the tides turning around toward gun ownership, these individuals should treat people with common perspectives just a tad better. On a side note, the prices are great and there is a gentleman by the name of Steve who works there and he is outstanding. Steve is very knowledgeable and treats everyone the same(I've noticed this every time I've been here). Steve is pleasant and I'd recommend asking for him if you shop at this location. read more

Went in yesterday for the first time and was highly unimpressed with our experience. If I could give it negative star ratings I would. Went in to buy some ammo and also browse at the guns. The 2 guys working there were highly uninterested in showing any guns or selling them. The used ones they had in the case were in poor condition from the looks and the guys kept pestering us to get our stuff and get out basically. They are only allowing 1 box of ammo "per family" every 7 days and they tell you this repeatedly while you are in the shop. Not to mention it was $30 for a box of 9mm nothing special practice rounds. Everything about the vibe and experience in this establishment was sub par and we will not be returning. I will support local businesses that treat their customers like they want and appreciate their business. I do not recommend this business. read more

When this was the Tigard gun Broker it was amazing. But last week when I went in the guy behind the counter huffed and puffed and rolled his eyes at me any time I asked him a question. Like he didn't want me to be there, and like he didn't want to be there. Had it set to deliver to this location, only took a few days. Business offers easy parking in a huge open shared lot, disabled friendly spots right in front. Came in after a phone call letting me know my order had arrived, place was busy for a Wednesday afternoon, Oregonians love their guns! Was attended to immediately and my special order was pulled from the back. There were three employees on hand and all were friendly, polite and professional. Completed all the necessary paperwork, got a few other items and checked out. Good selection and great pricing on sale items. Easy enough, no complaints, I'd certainly go back if I'm feeling like I need to expand on my second amendment. read more

They are easy to order from but do not communicate. As other reviews state they don't answer their phone, their voicemail is full and they don't respond to support tickets or email. Since I pre ordered an item I'm curious as to whether or not I'll get it. While it's easier to place a deposit it is not easy to cancel an order and have that deposit refunded. read more

Finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase an AR-15. Even with the COVID protocols they got me in pretty fast. They have a very large selection of guns to choose from. The gentleman I worked with couldn't of been friendlier and very patient with the questions I had. Ended up purchasing the gun I wanted, background check was a breeze, picked up some extra magazines and some ammo. Will be back soon for more ammo and other accessories for the gun. read more

We just went in and asked about shipping our firearms to alaska from oregon. Although they don't ship firearms, the woman behind the counter offered the advice that 'most people just break down the firearms and put them in the front of the truck'. She essentially just told us we might consider smuggling firearms through canada customs and then back into the US. I believe that is called international gun smuggling. We will find a shipper, but I am blown away by this interaction. Worst. Advice. Ever. read more

Super great service at this location. Pat is engaging, helpful, and knowledgable. It's smaller than the Eastside location, but there's usually fewer customers (but it might feel more crowded!) and the sales experience has been much more consistent at this location. Purchased a firearm online and received the confirmation email. The email only said "thanks for your order." It didn't include next steps. So I went into the store the next day when they were open. I hadn't received the phone saying my firearm was ready, but they did have it ready for me. The background was fast and simple. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They're only allowing 4 ppl in at a time right now. The shop is small, but doesn't feel cramped due to limited capacity. I would shop here again. read more

Customer service isn't great. My boyfriend purchased a SIG 320 and they gave him a SIG 365. He didn't notice until he got home so he called them and they said they don't except returns or exchanges. I went to purchase a fire arm 2 weeks later and stood in line for almost 2 hours before being let into the store. The 2 hour wait was understandable due to Covic restrictions. They called 3 days later and said I could pick up the fire arm and that they would be letting customers in quickly for pick up. I waited in line for an hour while they kept letting in customers who were there to purchase. I called a few times while in line but no one answered. When I finally got in the store, they said they werent answering phones. I had my eye on another gun there but I will go else where to shop. read more

I want to start off by saying I'm a long time custumer and have spent thousands of dollars with this shop. I saw they had a gun in their case I liked I have a few guns that I don't want anymore so I went into the shop to see what they would give me on trade in and I'm not asking for full retail price but when you have the same gun on your shelf and you tell me "I'm giving you 70% of retail" and my firearm has nite sites and after market extended mag plus a very nice holster rig for it and an you offer me the same price as you would give another customer with a standard model of the same gun and not even factor in the night sites and ext mag and holster plus another gun that's just as nice. You didn't even speak or present good customer service and just wrote down on a post it note and say "here is what I'll give you." Then you're an ass about it I know how much you're in to your gun and low ball me on mine if I would have taken your offer and bought your gun you would have made over $390 profit on me over the price of your gun. In short I would have given you no stars if I could this being said I will never shop, buy, or recommend this shop ever again! read more

In this store are good people who actually care! Speaking about NW Armory in general, they have prices that compete with even the biggest internet sellers like Brownells, Midway, Etc. My go to gun store for most anything. 4 out of 5 stars because the website is very disorganized and the FFL transfer fee is quite expensive (BUT they have/can get just about any firearm you'd like at the same price as wherever you were gonna order it anyways). Great selection of firearms, but certain people who are work there can be either very helpful. Or dismissive? Both locations usually have a contest or special deal going on, so that is always a plus. This was the most run around BS I ever been thru for a online order. So with that being said trust DON'T ORDER from NORTHWEST ARMORY. For example they take payment faster than a heart beat. With little to no information and with no one to contact, yes right now they can blame everything on a virus.. but it's not Covid19 they have a virus with customer service and this is why you shouldn't order from them. Sent first support ticket 3-4 day because I had no information. So it say will respond in 24 hours but yea it's hard times with this virus so I gave em 48 hours in between that time I call the online number get really funny Portland have a cell phone with no voicemail set up, call the web sale number voicemail is full, so I call Tigard store only one to pick up phone. And they was all fairly nice so thank you for trying to save this company but anyways took 4 days to get a email saying it's my fault it's not sent because I didn't send over my FFL, wait my fault even tho the invoice have everything for my dealer but they won't reach out to your dealer it's your responsibility haha but look my local gun shop the best so I call them. Like I thought no problem while I'm on the phone my shop send FFL right then and there. So I wait a day, nothing so next day call my favorite store in Tigard and he say yea man just need your FFL n they will send it I tell him it was sent 2 days ago he just say OH... so I was given this number (503) 789-9991 she is very nice but she work in like headquarters so she don't want to talk to customers but she did so thank you. She finally get me my tracking number so I'm happy and give up on calling and emailing but this company so messed up they only made a shipping label so I could stop calling and emailing so after getting that tracking number took them another 5 days just to give it to the USPS. Very sad took my money right off my card when I hit place order so they lock you in early so you can't cancel because it's a 15% fee to cancel so it's deal with them or lose money and time. So with all that being said please do your research and NEVER ORDER FROM NORTHWEST ARMORY!!! It's a reason they have so much .223 Ammo because no one want to deal with the VERY BAD customer service.
