Overall a mixed bag, work was excellent, communications not so much. Sent a message for a quote, John got back to me right away and came over to the house. Next morning got the quote, fair price and he said they were ready to go on Sat 9am (in 2 days). Gave him the go ahead. Well sat morning rolls around and no one is here at 10am, I call john, he said sorry their guy was out sick and rescheduled for monday. Monday 9:30am still no one here, call John, says guy is in route but lost, he arrives at 10am but says the other two guys are suck at another job. He starts, they show up at 1pm, they get all but 2 stump grindings done, said they will be back tomorrow afternoon. No one shows up next day, so message john, he said they will be out to finish tomorrow, they show up and finish the job. Great work (4 trees cut down, 2 trimmed and 2 stumps grind ed) but poor scheduling and communications. I would probably use again as long as I was not in any rush to complete. Could have been much better if he had been updating me vs me having to call him and find out where they are. read more

I've hired John on two separate occasions to cut down large dead trees on my yard. His team is professional and incredibly efficient. After they're done any evidence of the tree is GONE. They pick up the little pieces that wind up all over. It's like the tree was never there. John responds within 24 hours to my questions and keeps it short. I like that! An added bonus is that he takes cards. He is also knowledgeable of the ordinances of The Woodlands. If I let him know I have to get approval from my neighborhood council, my quote comes in with his recommendation and the reason for removal that I can attach to my approval application. During the estimate, he took pictures of all the trees and suggested what should be done to care for and also make our yard more appealing. I told him and then didn't hear back until the 9th at which point he said he could be over the next day - and asked for my address. I was disappointed because they had great reviews. read more

The worst most horrendous experience and most negligent service my family had with a tree care company. A tree branch broke and was hanging over a garage at one our our rental properties. Our family called this guy to take care of it, sent him a picture clearly showing the heavy broken branch hovering over the garage, ready to snap and fall on the roof and driveway. He told us he'd go there the next day, texted us an estimatee, which we approved in writing right away and we thought he'd keep his word. Several days passed, we thought everything was taken care of and were waiting for an invoice. Today our tenant reported the tree guys did not even show up and the branch broke off completely, fell on the driveway almost doing major damage to the vehicles. When we called this business again, we were told they supposedly "scheduled" service on the following day and sent us an email notifying us. We never received an email and the owner of the business confirmed today it was sent to the wrong email. So, knowing there was a major hazard at a property, they thought not only it was appropriate to wait for several days and leave the branch hanging there, but they aslo did not call to notify us they did not take care of it, so we could hire someone else asap. The final straw was when the owner told us he did not see anything as urgent as a branch hanging over a garage. What a bunch of lies! The picture from which he gave us a quote to remove the branch at the trunk clearly shows the garage, the broken branch ready to snap and fall and the severity of the situation. Disappointing, bunch of conniving liars that don't follow through when hired. With the level of negligence and messed up scheduling, and lying afterwards, I cannot imagine the kind of job they do working on trees. read more

I have a crepe myrtle that grows excessive every year. I've paid other services (albeit not professional tree services) and every year the tree grew more unbearable and overgrown. I really hated the tree and all the burden of maintenance it had put on our household. Finally I searched for professionals and the first time I asked Highpoint Tree Care to trim the tree was in the summer. They advised they could only do a little trim and it was best to wait till the winter to top the tree to ensure we didn't harm the tree. Then in the winter they came to top the tree & I was very skeptical of how it would look when blooming. I even had a neighbor comment that I had killed my tree (they obviously didn't know anything). John and his guys were great. They came out the day I sent a request through the web, walked the property with me and gave me an estimate and then emailed me the broken down estimate. I took some time since it involved extensive trimming and a big removal job. The day I called them much later, they remembered me followed up quickly they put me on the schedule within the next week. The crew was courteous worked thoroughly and professionally. The price was absolutely fair for the work though maybe not as much of a bargain as some of the under the table guys who work without insurance. John called me during the job to see how it was going and showed up at the end to review the work with me and was quickly fixed an issue when I pointed out a part of the job.
