The…read moreapartments themselves are beautiful and have so much potential, which makes this even more disappointing to say. The biggest issue right now is the dog waste situation. It is absolutely everywhere throughout the property. My daughter has stepped in dog feces multiple times just walking around the grounds. It's not limited to one small area -- it seems to be a widespread issue. I have personally witnessed residents not picking up after their dogs, and it appears that policies are not being enforced. What is even more concerning is that I have seen a neighbor's balcony with a noticeable accumulation of dog feces. Aside from being unpleasant to look at, this raises serious concerns about sanitation and odor, especially in a shared living environment where residents live so close to one another. It's extremely unsanitary and disappointing for a property that presents itself as well-maintained and upscale. The complex has great potential, but the lack of upkeep and enforcement is very noticeable. Until this issue is properly addressed and the property is kept consistently clean, I would not feel comfortable recommending these apartments to others. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements, because it's getting worse.

Years ago the complex was great for the money, quiet, and safe, I would have rated 4 stars. Over the last 6+ months a huge group of squatters took over the complex. With little to no help or compensation from Mission Rock conditions of the property have rapidly declined and safety is at an all time low. Car damages, trash everywhere, apartment break ins, children running around no supervision, being threatened by the squatters, all videotaped, photographed, and given to the leasing office yet over months of being asked to be patient while resolution happens, nothing has changed and conditions continue to get worse. Over the 4th of July weekend two units were broken into. Besides the unsafe conditions of the complex I have ran into many communication issues while living here as well. Many times my unit has not been checked during preventative maintenance. When transferring my first lease into a bigger unit we were promised one price and upon move in we ended up having to pay over 150$ more monthly due to Keystones management not entering our information in correctly. Where my true issues reside are how mission rock is doing nothing for paying respectful tenants who live in fear everyday. Timi the apartments maintenance manager and her maintenance team work hours on end cleaning up waste, garbage and debris from the units with squatters. They have no time to prioritize the true community up keep or work orders from other paying residents. It's not fair to them, it's not fair to the residents. Mission Rock really needs to act on this situation before the complex is completely over ran! 3 years ago I would have recommended anyone to live here, now I will tell you not to waste your money or sanity!

Mgmt did update plumbing via a 6 month project. They also added a recycling bin to the property. They are also trying to do more activities for the community (thank you Courtney) which has been nice to see. My rating shifted because I wanted to make some points. I love the open parking, though people park in the same places and it gets weird if you take their spot sometimes... also I had many issues with my heating/air conditioner/ fan in the unit 2/3rds is resolved (AC still an issue, even though the unit is new now it doesn't work when the sun is out or if it's warm... the older unit worked better in my experience). Also, valet trash service here is ok, but in the last few months they've come at random times outside of the 7-9p timeframe they give, or sometimes not at all to grab trash. I think the program itself is optional but honestly it makes sense to use it because the garbage bin is remote on the property as well. I think a huge improvement would be an expansion to the recycling program. The recycle bin as it stands is almost always overflowing. People in CO definitely want to recycle if they can, and I know monitoring a program like that is a lot but it's worth it for the environment. If there were two bins, for the East and the West side of the property with 2 weekly pickup dates that would be phenomenal. I think more people would recycle here if that were the case. Overall I'm still happy to be here, I don't need a fancy place and the amenities I have here, when in working order, are great. Courtney, Andres, and Cortana are great to work with. Rogelio, Dillion, and Benny are great and attentive to work orders, they do great work and always do their best. The community manager Rachel is nice to work with as well. The gym is great especially with the new Entry system. The grounds are nice and I hope they remain that way.

This is a decent apartment complex in a better part of Thornton with close access to local grocery…read moreand food. Also if you have kids, it is very close to a middle school, and a couple other schools are right down the street. The apartments were raised in the early 2000's and (in my opinion) were built a bit shoddily. Some of the baseboards don't fit quite right, not flush to the floor or a bit too long. I can definitely see some of the previous folks concerns about maintenance being well founded. I had to request a new smoke alarm after they "fixed" mine twice, but they did actually replace it, so that was nice. I lucked out into a "remodeled" apartment where they upgraded a few things. Stainless steel microwave and oven/stove, fake wood floor, wood cabinets in a dark chocolate. Carpet through the rest of the unit except the bathroom got the "wood" flooring as well. Good sized tub/shower combo with the weirdest control I have ever seen for hot/cold water... Walls are a bit thin, you will hear your neighbors from time to time. I don't have a pet, but it seems pet friendly enough. Plenty of dogs and cats to go around, and you can spot their droppings from time to time. Its not apocalyptic mind you, but there is enough to keep you mindful of your step in the grassy areas. Package delivery has always been a hassle. Depending on your service, it will go to your door (which is nice), but if it goes to the office, there is a built in delay of 1-2 days before you can get it again. Mostly because USPS commonly delivers after 5pm, and the office folks don't have a good system of receiving/marking the packages. It can become a hunting game to get a package... Trust your tracking number, if it says delivered, it is.... somewhere... This should get fixed with the new package lockers they are getting up and running, but we shall see. New management came online in 2016 and there have been some changes, most of which I have found to be a net neutral. New ladies in charge are solid (+), charge to use the online portal (-), package handling got worse (-), more communicative with the community announcements (+), etc. This is a good apartment complex, not great, not awful, it is good in most senses of the word. I chose to stay here for 2 years and my rent only went up by 5% for my second lease term. I would say that this place deserves some better reviews, you could sure live somewhere a lot worse.

The trash cans are always overfilled and garbage all over the floor! People don't pick up after their dogs at all! I can't really blame this on the apartment/staff, just wish they could do a better job of enforcing fines for those that don't pick up after their dogs. Parking.... dreadful parking! We moved in before they started this new pay for parking bs. My car was towed and I paid out the ass to get it back on a Sunday! Man was I pissed off! Also, I have a garage but it's 2 buildings over so walking to it every morning is a hassle. Not to mention, I've been late to work twice cause people park in MY driveway and I had to knock on doors for them to move their vehicles! Such disrespect! I've mentioned this problem to the staff the first time it happened but no actions were taken. Staff... the staff here is very kind and helpful. I see the maintenance team working everyday. They do a good job plowing the snow and cleaning up the garbage bin areas weekly. Melissa, Starr and the new guy are super nice and helpful with office things. Aside from things they can't control, I appreciate their help. The buildings are nice and our apartment has a good layout. The amenities are above average, pool, gym, movie room, dog run etc. i hope they can do something about the jackasses who don't pick up after their pets and the assholes who park in other ppls PAID parking spots. The management in the office are nice when they want to me. Most of the time, they completely disregard any concerns, or complaints that they have. The apartment complex when I moved in (from Florida, DEC 2017) to this day has not given me a tour of the apartment complex. It was just here's your key, have a nice day. From there here's been my experience: The parking is horrendous. So bad in fact that the fire lanes have been made into parking spots, and good luck finding any parking not on the other side of the apartment complex (if that). The apartment itself needs a repair almost every week. To the point where I no longer ask every time I need one, I just let a list build so they can take care of everything at once. I have had door frames fall out of the wall onto me or people who are visiting (with nails hanging out), sliding doors are coming off the tracts and falling down randomly. The kitchen sink clogs almost on cue once a week, and all the outlets work when they want to. The windows and doors keep nothing inside/outside. The rooms are as cold or hot as it is outside, regardless of what A/C is set on. So prepare to pay more on energy monthly. I could go on forever, but I wont. This is the first time I've ever had to rent a place sight unseen. After this I will NEVER do it again. Worst living experience of my life. Would recommend you made one extra click if you think this is the place. Good luck apartment hunting.
